Silsbee played for regional title in 1968, 1971 and 1977. Won it in '77.

I know Giddings was giving Silsbee those hitches last week, WOS won't be giving those easy throws to Foster. He hit Turk deep the first drive of the game last year, he's gonna have to do the same with Cartwright to have any chance.

One thing going for Silsbee, they have never lost to WO-S in the playoffs.

Win the region again? Good lord man back away from the Red cool aid. Crosby will not win District next year much less the region. I don’t know where you think these players are going to come from, but BH owned your Varsity, JV and Fish this year. Crosby is a long way from getting back to that level. Just like BH you got a bye in week one of the playoffs. Sterling or Willowridge would have placed 6th and 7th in our district. The Huntsville game which looked close on the scoreboard was never close, Crosby threw up 2 jump balls for 14 points then scored a trash TD towards the end.

I’m really considering making my way to the Butch to spectate this contest. I can’t really pick a winner this early on, but I’m willing to make an offer. Which program should I support this week? The winning program will have Cardinalbacker in attendance wearing the colors of their school as well as all of my online support by way of heckling the other team and their fans. No I don't think u read my post correctly. I was one of the ones last year who said that silsbee was a better team. And I also said that our young dline didn't come together.and I promise u any coach at w.o will tell u last year defensive was a challenge.new year.kids up front are better.and if you seen the first game silsbee running 85% of the time.isnt gonna beat them.they couldn't run the first time.and now defensive are better.everyone will have there opinion bcz of the last 3 weeks.but at the same time neither of us has faced real top talent teams in playoffs.so at the end of the day.offense wins games.defense wins championships.and I hate to repeat it again from a week ago.as long as they're not turning the ball over. And given easy points up.which they haven't lately.they are gonna be hard to beat !!

The Huntsville defense played well. The kicking game mistakes were tough to overcome, especially giving them the ball at the 3 yard line. Holding FBM to 28 points should have been a win but it didn’t happen today. Manvel and FBM should be an entertaining game next week.

To my surprise, UIL rules do not require an ejected player to leave the field. It is one of the few differences between UIL and NCAA rules.

Just an example of Lamar being a host: Vidor vs. Crosby several years ago. Vidor was the home team and filled the home side to capacity. 8,000 strong. Crosby had around 4-5000 on the visitor side. Lamar thought having one concession stand with two workers on each side was sufficient for a lowly little high school playoff game. Also, only one gate taking tickets with just one attendee. Also very little security on site. Needless to say, there were extremely long lines and lot's of folks missed a good part of the game. Lamar just doesn't care about hosting high school playoff games and it shows.
