There are going to be a good number of 4th place teams going home in round 1. The solution is to get better and not finish 4th. Then you won’t hafta face teams such as Mart in bidistrict. Either that, or borrow the 4 Horseman next go round.

^^^This. This mentality is why we are raising a bunch of puddins. Let them catch a butt whippin and learn from it. High School sports is ultimately about becoming a man. And sometimes in life the issues your facing don't just kneel and let the clock run out.

So just for a re-cap: Manvel goes TO Hall Stadium and beats FB Marshall who was ranked #2 at the time giving them the best win in the state. They beat 12-5A’s 4th place team by 35, they were only up 3 points entering the 4th quarter on the own district’s 4th place team. Yet, you somehow agree that Nederland looked good and Manvel looks vulnerable? Got it.

Here are some stats for those who don't like the coaching staff: Lidney Thompson's 1st year: 6-4 (didn't make the playoffs) Curtis Barbary's 1st year: 5-4-1 (didn't make the playoffs) WT Johnston's 1st year: 9-3 (Out in 2nd round) Probably should have gotten rid of all of those coaches after the first season. Who knows what kind of program Newton could have..... Maybe you supposedly "Newton fans" "Born and raised" should study the word support. You don't support until things aren't perfect then want their head. Pump your brakes, we're still playing.

You sure do talk a lot of crap. You should go to the fieldhouse and voice your concerns to the coaches and see how that conversation turns out. Those guys are working their tails off 7 days a week trying to get these kids prepared to play and instead of commending them for what they are doing you continue to bash them. Sometimes you have to blame the players too. Coaches aren’t out there making them throw 3 picks or fumbling the ball. Kids are playing hard trying to make plays and they get a penalty it happens. Get over it move on and get ready for the next one.

I was able to watch on Texan live and honestly, Nederland looked good. Really impressed with the run game. Manvel Just had too many weapons. Some of the play calling was suspect, especially in the long Nederland drive in the third quarter. Overall, my takeaway is Manvel looked vulnerable. I don’t think they will win the region.

This was the most frustrating Nederland team that I can remember.

If Newton makes these kinds of mistakes against Dangerfield or Paul Pewitt, they will not win.

Crosby has had several district championships over the last several years. Bragging about how much you have paid a coach over the last four years to get 1 district championship is snobbish. Y’all have paid over $600k for that by the way, not including the indoor practice facility, etc. If BH doesn’t continue to back it up, it will be like “putting lipstick on a pig”. Congrats.

your QB is out. Others key starters played limited. This not only changes your play book and how you coach but your players mentality. This is hard to deal with and it throws everything out of sync. It starts showing on the field and this makes it even harder to mentally stay in the game mindset. This is normally how and when huge upsets happen. It didnt. They found a way to stay ahead and finish it. Alot of school are sent home in this scenario. Be proud of the program, coaches and kids. Get the pieces back together and open the playbook back up and Eagles will be fine again.

Kountze has won several times. PNG has won 3 I believe and Beaumont French won several. Very few teams from our area have even been to the state tournament. Huffman has their hands full with Midlothian. Midlothian should win that 3-0.

Not here trying to spin anything, Crosby borderline sucks and Vidor actually does. Vidor has only won one first round game in 60+ years, you have no choice but to be good with just competing and tying to play spoiler. I’m glad we could provide that win for you though. And yeah, our coach isn’t good at all but he’s insulated by split divisions and a weak district. Couple things I know: 1 > 0, which is the number of playoff games for Crosby vs Vidor his year. The other thing is usually men that use the amount of emojis you do have partners instead of wives.

This is the best answer. It's their money. I don't understand why anybody would care how they spend it. My opinion has changed on this very little since BH hired Westerberg. He didn't get hired because he is a great guy and a wonderful mentor to young athletes. He got hired to win. So far he hasn't earned his check yet. But.... This is the year I think they are starting to get some return on that investment. My question is, and I don't have an answer, how much rope will he get at $154K if he stacks up a couple tough seasons after this one? He had some less than impressive seasons in the beginning but its "part of the process"...."programs take time to turn around"...all those comments. Now, ranked #10 in the state in their division, this is where they should be....at the moment. BH should be improving beyond the 1st and 2nd round in the next few years to justify that pay. But, like I said at first, it's their money. Fun to talk about is all.

We will never have the talent of those 2 schools, but it shows that BH is all in when looking for a head coach. Ya know if you have the resources and the support from the community why not? I see it like this if I budget and handle my business and can afford a Lamborghini why buy a Ford Focus 😂

To be honest I wasn't impressed with Manvel the 2017 team was way better than this one. Any team with a good offense is going to beat Manvel.

All of the above in my opinion. But when I make a derogatory statement about a Newton Coach everyone on here from Newton gets all bent out of shape. Honestly I think Newton has the best athletes in Texas, 3AD2. But their playing like they may not even get out of the first round. But I'm sure they will. But this play is depressing. And frustrating and I'm not blaming the players. But we still have another half to play. But no matter what happens you can't take this half away

WOS has tradition of winning. The BearE97 is happy with mediocre LCM football because LCM has been WOS little brother. We have a winning record against everyone else in Orange County. I agree LCM could be more competitive. Some years we don’t have the talent that WOS does but we could be a lot better. Few years ago I posted the reason why our HC still is working at LCM is because of the past superintendent. It was said that as long as LCM make a bi district playoff appearance in football the perception would look good. A bi district playoff game imo is nothing to me. 3 to 4 rounds a consistent basis is a good program. I just have more expectations for the staff and kids. Here is a list of reasons LCM struggles: #1 PARENTS...... we have some participation trophy parents. They don’t support the program and lean to the band program. They don’t motivate their kids to play or send them to camps. Get the kids in the weight room And off of video games. I could go on but everyone gets it. #2 talent. Some years we are up and down. We are not blessed like a power house teamp. But the kids need a taste of winning and get some tradition started. Hit the gym! #3 Coaching. A topic where everyone you ask has a different opinion. I’ll say this LCM has had good coaches but if the kids don’t believe in the coaches it’s hard to win and buy into the program. Winning coaches are more successful because of this.

Newton by 21 Diana not that bad. Corrigan in my opinion has the toughest team in district 11 with pewitt they are disciplined. Corrigan will have to bring it to win this game. Dont laugh but I’m thinking Anderson-Shiro May bet Dangerfield there seasoned and play disciplined football just not exsplosive. Daingerfield is exsposive but sometimes not disciplined could cost them the game. I’m going with the underdog Anderson-Shiro on this one. My Hornets if they play a full 4 quarters not just 2 they should bet Elysian. They seem to be getting better each week. Good luck to all the District 12 teams.

And again, schools cannot talk to or make any kind of offers to him as long as he is under scholarship at Lamar. He would have to leave first. Otherwise, that would make the school that is making the offers in violation.
