    The Two Pirates?

So your gonna down someone for supporting their hometown, and then defend yourself by saying you don’t care what your own hometown does? I see your sports endeavors keep you busy enough to still come on here and talk crap on DV of all people... 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

    The Two Pirates?

🤣 Makes sense now!!! And just for those annoying stats... Huffman sits at 19-17 record since 2016 Deweyville sits at 18-18 since 2016 Our area has experienced 3 devastating floods in 3 years, obviously our numbers are way down... To remain aligned with my original post, it has absolutely nothing to do with the scoreboard. The real victory is how these kids leave it all on the field every week, no matter the score...for each other, their coach and their town. Congrats on your 5-0 start this year Falcon.

I agree, based on what we know. Maybe I misunderstand sometimes, but kids around here seem to move frequently from one school to another, and I suspect do it all around the State. And if he was at Crosby last year, it appears to be a no-brainer.

  5. No doubt it's coming...smh. I wonder how many very qualified and decent nominee prospects will take themselves out of the conversation to avoid the nonsense we saw from the democrats at the Kavanaugh hearings? ...simply because they are afraid to lose the right to kill innocent babies.

  7. In Barbay's defense, schedules are made every two years. He could not have scheduled Silsbee this year because of the two year agreements.

  10. Russia has troops on the ground in Syria. Russian air strikes are primarily directed against non-IS rebel fighting the Assad government. The Kremlin had accused the U.S. of using our campaign against IS as a way to slow Russian and Syrian military advances. Moscow wants to keep Assad who is Russia’s closest ally in the Middle East in power. Russia will now be able to secure its military influence in the region. Russia also supports Hezbollah who opposes Israel. This should concern us all.

  11. Following SETX football, one could not help but to recognize the similarities between the two Pirate football teams here. Vidor and Deweyville. What do these two programs have in common? Obviously, they share the Pirate mascot. Both Pirates seem to always be the underdogs, no matter the opponent. Both Pirates are considered small in their respective districts. Pirates generally give up size, speed and talent to their opponents. Pirates have no quit. Pirates play with all heart. Pirates have no fear. Pirates are tough and resilient. Pirates are bought-in to their programs and have a deep-seated loyalty to each other and their Coaches. If Coach Matthews or Coach Prouse asked their young men to attack a nuclear submarine, all you'd hear was the splash of the warriors hitting the water. Obviously we're not getting sized for our State Championship rings but if you appreciate a hard working, hard hitting, never give up, gut-it-out type of football team...y'all are always welcome, we'll save you a seat. It's a great day to be a Pirate.

There is a lot more to it. Ill leave it at that. But I will say yes they should just let him play. The kid is a good kid not matter the situation.

Wait — this kid moved over a year ago? Let him play. I don’t know the full background to this story, but it seems to me that the transfer rules exist to prevent opportunistic moves that would arise in a recruiting-type situation. If a kid actually moves for that long, I can’t imagine what the real hang up is. There is no rule against really moving, even if the move is partially or even fully motivated by a kid wanting to play somewhere. If a kid moves because he wants to be in a certain school’s marching band, does anyone even care? Students are allowed their preferences. I think enforcement of these rules has gotten beyond the original intended scope. But there are certainly things I don’t know. Without more, this sounds ridiculous.

Oh so you mean Huffman scheduled a bunch of chumps?? God forbid Lumberton schedule a “subpar” team and everyone on here jumps on us... But anyway, I agree this should be a good game and will give us a good idea of how District will shape out.

    District 11-4A

although i don’t disagree here are my thoughts: LCM is old school, this may cost them a game. Huffman, if they play physical defensively, don’t turn the ball over and get a couple stops, can out score everyone in the district. Lumberton will never be out of a game due to their style of play. If Huffman and LCM get a two score lead on them, they’re style could cost them.

  37. Couple of things. That kid didnt play baseball, soccer, tennis, badminton, or anything like that, but he canceled Silsbee on EVERYTHING. Seems like someone was a little sensitive I'd you ask me. Also, that kid graduated last year. Nothing stopped them from scheduling Silsbee this year for anything. That didnt happen. But hey. 'You like it, I love it'...

It’s up to coach Barrow now. Put players in with heart and keep the program to were it’s been for 20 plus years, or keep down this road and people will be calling for a change. You can’t be afraid to hurt feelings. That’s why I love football. Many life lessons can be taught to these young men besides X’s and O’s.

  44. East Chambers is far from being arrogant. Sounds like sour grapes from someone who has lost too many times to the Bucs.

  45. Sounds like someone has taken a few butt kickins from EC. All of this rhetoric that you are throwing out there definitely needs to be aimed at your team. Do you want to know why EC comes off as "arrogant" to people outside of Winnie, it's because they believe that they can win any game that they are playing. If you go into the game passive and "hoping" to win, then the odds are not in your favor. Every winning program has that "arrogant" attitude. I don't care where they are from, but they have it. Just look at arguably the greatest QB of all time, Tom Brady, he plays with that arrogant, I'm better than you attitude. I am an EC graduate, and I can tell you, EC used to be the homecoming game for everyone. If you don't like how the BUCS act, then have your team beat them.

  48. The kid who was snapping on FG's was playing his very first game of the season, and had only practiced a few days this season. He is one of the kids who was in the wreck. Being his first action, coupled with a wet ball for much of the first half may have been the issue. He will get it together with more practice/reps. The QB Yowman was snapping on FG's earlier in the season, and it was working fine, but too risky to have your QB doing that. They will get it corrected. Also keep in mind that barring a setback, arguably the Top RB (Holland) in the area will be back in a few weeks, so this WB offense has the potential to be even more scarier moving forward. The other younger RB's has filled in very well, but Holland is special and he is a huge mismatch in the passing game against most anybody's Linebackers. Another weapon is on the way.
