Several schools suffered as much damage as BU. HF and Vidor for two. All of the schools are doing everything they can to get the kids back in class. Shat happens, and this area has had more than its share lately. But the next flood could be at PAM, Ned or PNG. Despite what some people think, we don’t control the weather. Jmo5 points -

Cleveland is growing quickly too, how is that working out for them? "Growing quickly" does not mean "they have a lot more talent". I am not saying Splendora wont win, I actually think the could blow Liberty out, I just do not see this one being a close game, no matter the winner.2 points -

Liberty Splendora
FactCheck reacted to MistorVickiVallencourt for a topic
I wouldn't say the growth has benefited Splendora much. I think the key to their success last year was a good senior class and those big tailbacks they had. Unless those were move ins, how has the growth benefited them? If anything it's going to hurt them when re-alignment comes back around. Possibly bumping back up to 5a would not be good for the Wildcats. Liberty and Splendora both need this win to get the train on the tracks for the rest of the season. Should be a good game like last year. Good luck Wildcats!!!1 point -

All is not lost,, Diboll was a last minute game with what two days preparation time. Kinda of hard to be mentally up for a brawl when you thought you were gonna play the Livingston boy choir and at last minute got a George Foremon with an attitude. I know it hurts but it wasn't a district game and could get the boys woke up. Not being ranked will definitely give them some attitude. No one wants to lose but pre-district is the only time to lose and not hurt to bad. Get the bugs worked out and all will be OK.1 point

If you don't mind, what does the bolded part mean? I get #3 (although I don't think you do - I was joking of course), but before you call someone Big Dummy, go back and read your posts... I hope your kids get to school soon. I don't think they're going to get much in the way of schooling at home.1 point -

Bulldogs should get their first W. I like their sophomore wr Fusiler, he is a baller. Two quality running backs and a half decent qb, they should spank Sante fe with no problems. Look for them to hang 40 plus on Sante FE to get rid of that bad taste in their mouth. Bet the house on the dogs lol1 point -

Here's my take on it, and mind you, I have 2 kids at this school now and AlphaWolf does as well. I understand your question, Kronos. I'm also sure that you're not suggesting that the United kids attend classes in PA. But there are things in place for these kids to attend classes. We as parents have fail safes in place. At least I do. But I'm convinced that the new regime (new Superintendent who was the driving force as an assistant the last couple of years and the New principal) are doing all they can to get everything going. The situation was out of everyone's control so you cant really blame the district at all. 2 schools took in water and the rest didn't and the rest of our kids will start classes tomorrow. United (then Ozen) took in water and was restored after Harvey. Now, workers have been working around the clock to get kids back to class. There are buildings around the district that can take in the population of United if the worse case scenario happens. Like I alluded earlier, every parent is responsible for their child/children and should have a fail safe ready. I just don't hope it comes to that. Matter of fact, i won't talk it into existence. It won't come to that. 2,300 kids is a lot of kids and I'm sure that BISD are trying to get those kids back in the classroom and not just ___ing around.1 point -

So, a couple of pieces of advice and commentary to Mr./Ms. Pakronos: 1. When speaking of the importance of education in our children's schools, it may be important to try to check your post (before posting) for grammar, punctuation, capitalization and all around readability. I think it would a little more credence to your post. 2. Since your other thread was locked, there's a good chance your audience, the reader, never got the chance to view your previous words of wisdom and the initial basis for your post in the first place. Perhaps a little background first would help to capture your audience's attention before they give up trying to understand and are left wondering what day it is... 3. What do you mean, " Lets FORGET about the sports...". Sports, namely football, is more important than anything else a student can learn in any classroom! Silly person, you have a lot to learn... P. S. I was thinking of transferring my kids from Kelly to BU. Thoughts???1 point -

I guess you still don't understand that this was a last ditch effort type deal. They both wanted to get a game in after all of their plan Bs fell through. It would be different if Lumberton scheduled Evadale, but they didn't. This game was played due to the flooding of Imelda. At least they got a game in and didn't sit the week out. I commend both teams for getting their players and teams together after watching their families, friends, teammates get flooded. Before you bash any person/team on here, try learning a little bit about the situation first instead of making assumptions based on a whim.1 point -

Yes misunderstanding there, I didn’t mean nightmare as in the hill blew you out last year, but nightmare as in viewing the entire season. I’m afraid if you get blown out, memories of last year coming again will dominate the minds of the Broncos. In fact just from memory, Dayton played everyone close and were ahead in many games. I know in the Crosby I thought Dayton had it won by halftime. I feel this game could be the tipping point for the Broncos this season. Y’all were very talented last year, not as much this year, but young with potential. This may come down to big plays and coaching. Good luck.1 point -

They were supposed to play the JV game at The Butch @ 4:30 but JV turnout to practice has been low is what I was told by a coach. The school field was inundated with water but since has drained. They just don't want any unnecessary bodies on campus with all the work going on.1 point -

Both storms simply appeared in the Gulf. Harvey had a little warn time. Imelda, maybe a few hours. I’m not a believer in weather control, that’s for the climate loonies. When a storm is approaching, I just look for low pressure. That draws it in like a magnet. If lucky enough to have a cool front coming, it will save you. The hurricane has no chance against it.1 point

Nah, they need to be shown that the world isn't fair. If you don't play in a blowout win or loss as a senior, that is saying something. Let the best football players get the reps because in the end, it'll benefit your team more and it's a life lesson that the world isn't always gonna be nice to me. Kids need tougher skin these days.1 point -
Newton@Gilmer who wins
NewtonNation reacted to Amphibious Rodent for a topic
Not quicker than I thought. Williams actually was the better throwing QB last yearas a sophomore. But he lacked confidence. By the end of District Play he may have reason to strut like a peacock. And let me say this now. They will be at the top of the heap next year as well. Having said that, they may not even win this game against Gilmer. But after watching the Gilmer , Carthage game on YouTube, I have even more confidence in Newton. But it will be all out War. Newton doesn't have down years, as per say. Cmon, if you call a regional Championship a down year. IMO, Newton is actually on their way up. They will continue to improve their program year after year JMO. Only advice I would offer, and nobody's asking me. But like every other genius on this site. I'm going to give it. Develope throwing, athletic quarterbacks. That's been my only knock on the program over the past 50 years. Very few throwing QB in Newton. Williams will prove to be by for the best and will be the measuring stick for Quarterback's in the future at Newton. I'll see all you Newton folks mid December at Jerry's. Have a great Day!!!1 point -

Impressive win..lol. It is what it is. Got a game in. What gets me is beating up on a 2A school and not playing your bench more. Especially the seniors that won't get much playing time in district. And before someone comes to Babin defense, I know of some seniors who got 4 plays or less. Rediculous. Should've played them whole 2nd have. As he should've in Kville game. Guess big blowout more important than treating some kids right. And No...I do not have a kid playing..1 point -
