  2. Maybe some folks need to get off their political highhorse and talk sports in a sports forum and speak that political bs off the site period. Site name is SETXsports right?

  5. At what point do you say it’s not safe. Yes, I understand what you are saying about teens driving. The possibility of the child bringing a virus home to anyone young or old in his/her family is a strong possibility. I know a 28 yr. old Female Law Enforcement Officer from Atlanta who had no underlying conditions and died from the virus. I would be more opened if their was a cure. No parent should loose a child. I do respect your decision as it pertains to your kids.

  7. I think we try to go forward, because it's all you can do. But if it starts to get bad we shut it down. Just have to be vigilant.

Good Reagan quote. Do any of you remember his farewell address? I distinctly remember him warning the nation that we need to be teaching the love for our country and love for freedom. He was afraid what only teaching the bad would do to us as a nation...and look what's happened.

You’re probably right ... it’s been a while since I’ve watched it. All jokes aside, we watched it in public school. They warned us about the language.... Rhett said “d@mn,” lol. We also read Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn... can you imagine the poop storm if they got kids to read those novels instead of the transgender-indoctrination crap they spoonfeed the kids these days? It’s another illustration of how far we’ve already come, but at the same time these kids are convinced that we’re living in the most oppressed environmental in history.

  11. I agree. You can't let a word provoke you into prison time, or getting shot. I remember once I was with one of my uncles. We were on the peninsular side of the .Galveston ferry. We were going to or coming from Beaumont/Silsbee. Anyway, my uncle went into this bait house store and I stayed outside in his car. I was about 20 at the time. This drunk cajun looking dude was in the back of a pickup parked not far from us. He just started cursing me out and calling me the N word as often as he could get it out. We were the only blacks there. There were lots of people around but they all kept quiet. They looked embarrassed. My uncle came out of the store and he got an earful of what was being said. I asked my uncle where was his piece. He said no, he didn't have one. I knew he was lying, but I let it go. I wasn't gonna do anything with it anyway. We just drove off. Looking back, when I think about that uncle I think about that incident and how wise he was. He is gone on now, but he taught me something that day.

  14. You are exactly right. They should be hydrating before, during and after practice. They should notify someone if they’re feeling poorly. If they don’t feel comfortable starting yet because they’re not prepared, they should not participate except on a limited basis. Even then these tragedies may occur though. Prayers to the family. I have had my teen athletes working out separately this entire time. Running, lifting, agilities, etc. They are all in good shape. I have no fear of them participating.

  16. In my own humble opinion, if a parent is not comfortable allowing their child to participate in sports, then they shouldn't allow it...same for attending school, make other arrangements. The idea of a "one size fits all" solution can't be the answer. People of all ages accept some level of risk in their everyday lives. Educate yourself on the risks and mitigations and proceed accordingly. The politicization of this virus is repulsive. If you aren't comfortable allowing your child on the field, then dont allow it...you're the parent. You make the decision to keep them safe, whatever that looks like to you. The most important aspect is that you should have the freedom to choose. Go Pirates!

  18. Let me help u out !! I dont think ppl really realize how young they were last year. The only senior that really contributed was #69. Both size of the ball nothing but talent.for the next 2 years. All the freshman that moved up will get playing time bcz 5 of them were outstanding. The 2 teams that are in front of them deserve to be there.it boils down if w.o has learned anything coaching wise.to beat those caliber of teams.
