The X factor is Silsbee’s passing game. Run defense has been good for Ned, and I don’t expect them to struggle too much unless Silsbee can keep the ball moving through the air. We haven’t yet had to see how Ned deals with a strong qb. I think this one will be higher scoring just because I think Nederland is going to figure out some more offense, but I’m going with Silsbee, 38-31.

Lumberton has hung tough this season against two vastly superior teams to Jasper. I’ll take the Raiders over Jasper handily.

Good luck getting those jets off the runway. OF hasn’t seen anything like the relentless pass rush BC will bring Friday. A full on ground assault by Manning would be my strategy as the run game has been more effective against BC.

The Slot-T hasnt worked except for when Vidor had the Quirantes. Its not just the Slot-T, its also the mindset it has Vidor stuck in . The mindset where 4-6 is good enough and the kids arent good enough to run something else. Look at Orangefield, Bridge City, Lumberton etc., teams that switched from running offenses to a more open game plan and it worked out good for them. The Slot-T is a gimmick offense that worked before it became so wide spread, tge defenses have it figured out. Supt. Jay Kilgo got persuaded by Mathews to hire Dubois so the offense would stay the same. Mathews cant let go of the control and is still in charge of the program from my perspective.

Wonder if Nederland feels like they could have done better without "penalties, mistakes and bad officiating"? You make some brilliant points. Hopefully WOS will "work on their blocking this week" and also "fake field goal, fake extra points and onside kicks". Will not have much time after they work on "victory formation" and "spiking the ball".

WOS. They'll get it together. Eliminate the penalties mistakes and bad officiating and they should have beaten Nederland. If the OL works on their blocking this week they'll be off to the races. And with all due respect to the kicker, special teams should work on the fake field goal, fake extra points, and onside kick, I think they'll come in handy.

This use to be a big rivalry game, not sure anymore. From what I have heard Tigers will take the sting out of the Hornets. 49-0.

Hard to judge i believe they competed for state last year lcm pummeled them. They were 12-2 and played for state championship or semis i forget.... they're a very solid team.

WOS offense is really not that good,probably score 10 or less against a powerhouse team as La Vega

Silsbee 21- Nederland 13 , this will be fast game, both teams try to establish the run .. we can score better than Nederland , we have to clean up the turnoves, we turn it over 7 times vs them we will lose

This game will be interesting. I would have made Jasper a significant favorite before the season but now, not so much. I'm going to take Lumberton in a very close one. 21-20
