As long as we can get this guy in some games somewhere. Mauricio Dubón is a versatile player for the Houston Astros, known for his strong defense and ability to hit for average. He's played in a career-high 137 games in 2025, starting at seven different positions for the Astros, a franchise record, according to MLB.com. In 2025, he's batting .269 with 108 hits, 45 runs scored, 25 doubles, 4 home runs, and 47 RBIs, according to MLB.com. He's also earned a Gold Glove award and a World Series ring, according to StatMuse. Key 2025 Stats (Regular Season): Games Played: 137 At Bats: 402 Batting Average: .269 Runs Scored: 45 Doubles: 25 Home Runs: 4 RBIs: 47 Pinch-Hit RBI: Tied for fourth in the AL Pinch-Hit Home Run: First of his career Career Highlights: Positions Played: First baseman, second baseman, third baseman, shortstop, left fielder, center fielder, and right fielder. If we can start hitting on a consistant basis, we can make up for some of the off pitching. Also I am fine with everything as long as it doesn't affect Dubon. IMO he is the best utility man in the league as he can play almost every position. Throughout this last slump, he was one of the only ones hitting. We will see what transpires😆

Being that MLB doesn't have a salary cap, taking on Correa's salary isn't all that big a deal. (particularly since we don't have to pay 33 mil of it). We needed an every day 3B since Paredes is done for the year. Correa should do fine there. He is hitting for average about the same as Paredes. Just will need to hit for more power. Be curious to see where he ends up in the batting order. Getting Sanchez was a bonus. Houston desperately needed a left handed hitter. He should help bolster the outfield and may allow Altuve to play 2B more and lead off as well. I would have liked Houston to have picked up a starting pitcher. They are really short handed there, particularly since they gave up Gusto to get Sanchez. Overall, I give them an A-.

i'll keep it brief. QB is still an issue. Unfortunately, defenses will be ready for lil cuz to run and will want him to pass. There will be no down field passes or or slants. I didn't see the transfer, unless he's shorter than Morgan with dreads(which he actually threw the ball without forcing it). This team will not be competitive offensively, unless the o-line will be pancaking and not playing patti cake, the only thing we will have is a running game. QB IS NEEDED! Martin is a true RB. However, i think he will be a better option than Jones, which i believe i saw just standing on the sidelines not taking any snaps.

As they should be. Redshirt year 🤣

I just hope it works out like it use to when he was prime. He said he would be there tomorrow.

Astros actually gave up more (as far as players go) getting Sanchez than they did Correa. Houston just added more salary with getting Correa.

2025 Astros
myrecordwashorrible replied to baddog's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
Pitcher Matt Mikulski will go to the Twins. Not in Astros top 40 prospects. Twins also send cash (33 million). Twins trading off so many players, so they simply wanted that salary gone for a rebuild. -

I keep waiting for the MLB Network to announce it. Nothing yet on the internet either. The Twins have traded a massive amount of players, btw. -
What has been given up for Correa?

Definitely a thought. Heck, he could go today in something wild. Highly unlikely, but today has been crazy across all of baseball. -
Paredes is good trade bait for next year.

2025 Astros
myrecordwashorrible replied to baddog's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
This year Paredes may be out for the duration. Next year will be interesting to see how they play the infield especially when Yordan is In the DH slot. Yes, get through this season first, but just thinking of the possible lineup issues is quite intriguing. Many other organizations would have personality issues that would likely cause problems. If the top paid players are all healthy at the same time next year, someone will be sitting or playing a very unfamiliar position. This could get Yordan off the defensive side of things for sure. Who knows...? Order drinks, ask the wait staff for extra napkins and a pen....make some lineups. -

Astros also traded starting pitcher Gusto for outfielder Sanchez.
