  2. Apparently there are those who accuse others of ignorance, when it is they, themselves who are guilty. While not explicitly centered on love and respect, the Declaration of Independence emphasizes foundational principles like liberty, equality, and the pursuit of happiness, which are ideals that can be interpreted through the lens of love and respect. It declares the right of a people to govern themselves and is a statement of independence from British rule, rooted in the belief that all individuals are created equal and endowed with inherent rights. Here's a more detailed breakdown: Emphasis on Equality and Rights: The Declaration states that all men are created equal and endowed with certain unalienable Rights, including Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. This concept of equality and inherent rights suggests a sense of respect for all individuals, regardless of their background. Justification for Revolution: The Declaration outlines grievances against King George III and the British government, arguing that they have violated the rights and freedoms of the colonists. This act of rebellion, while not inherently about love or respect, can be seen as a declaration of love for one's own country and a respect for the right of self-determination. Inspiration for Freedom and Equality: The Declaration has served as a powerful inspiration for people around the world to fight for freedom and equality. This enduring impact suggests that the core principles of the Declaration, while not directly about love and respect, have resonated with a desire for justice and human dignity, values that can be interpreted as forms of love and respect.
  3. Rumors and not sure he would want that info out.
  4. Yes, too much activity in the forum. It is much better when no one comments
  5. I feel like the coach of the team on defense is at fault. No way you let them do that. With 2 outs? Just step off and go get one.
  6. Maybe it's just me, but I believe it's time for this particular thread to be closed. Woodville is no longer open, best of luck to the new coach and all returning players on the team. The state championship game is water under the bridge; therefore, let's all move on...

  8. I'm of the opinion that America has always been great, but no period of time has ever been without its warts and major problems. But as a country the left had us heading downhill quick. I'm not nearly as conservative as a lot of folks on here. I'm a libertarian who votes right because I'll never have a viable candidate. That said, the woke left was out of control. Some things that were very necessary (equal rights, gay rights, etc.) came about years or decades ago, and things improved (as they should have), but then just kept going to the point of absurdity. When "protected" classes went from receiving the rights they deserved to being able to step on other's rights to do whatever they want is when problems started. It's been really nice to see the pushback from people with common sense. There should be no debate that biological men not be allowed to compete in and dominate women's sports. People claim to care about women's rights and then push for trans to be allowed to beat them. That's insanity! When gay pride parades involve men walking around with their genitals out in front of children, who's rights are more important? And there are dozens of more examples. I don't love Trump, in fact I can't stand him. I would've taken literally any decent republican over him. That said, I'm perfectly content with him doing whatever it takes to shore up the border and take as many illegals off the government teat as possible. What Biden (or his handlers) did was treason, and it helped put Trump back in office. And I'm not anti-immigration. At last count I've written letters of recommendation for citizenship for SEVEN different immigrants from Mexico who went through legal channels to get here. I'm not sure how the tariff thing is going to turn out, but if it turns out okay then the left (and their biased news sources) are screwed for the next election and for some time to come. The recent presidential and house/senate results are a rebuke of what the left has become, but the left hasn't learned their lesson and are doing the same thing. Their only chance is that Trump's economy fails, and the media is doing all they can to help stoke that fire.

  18. I went and got a quote from KIN, $4322 standard deduction - 5K Hurricane/wind - $15,550 Personal Property $77,780 Replacement cost $311K OR...... $5971 Standard Deduction $5K Hurricane $6220 Wind/Hail $15,500 First, I don't understand on the more expensive policy how they can separate Hurricane at $6220 and Wind/hail at $15,500....Most hurricane damage IS wind.....so, that is a law suite waiting to happen....... This, plus flood and property tax is why Port Arthur is expensive to live,.

  20. I made a post on another social media page about Beaumont has had a bad start in 2025 with murders....and also murderers under 18...... The overwhelming response I received was this was normal in all big cities.... I really don't consider Beaumont a big city, although it is bigger than Groves.... Beaumont is never going to improve it's crime stats if "normal in big cities" is the mind set of the majority of folks who live in the city. What you will see is outlining cities continue to grow because of that mindset.
  21. Of course he did. we need new blood…..i doubt we get any
