SEC is down this year.  Coaching and QB play have continued to drop.  I’m not saying Bama isn’t the best team in CFB - I would probably take them against anyone, SEC or not.  But I tend to agree with AAW that they won’t be challenged until the conference championship game, maybe not until the playoffs.
