I was at west orange lastnight and watched them practice trust me the kids are focused and have nothing but Coldsprings on there mind..I compare Coldspring this year to the kirbyville team WO-S played last year.. WO-S lost only because our star quaterback had died and Salter the starter this year wasnt exactly ready to be in that type of game (who would) but that game was very close even though we only threw the ball i think 10 times which is not our offense we're looking to throw it atleast 20-25times... It'll be close early on but WO-S will Blow It Open After Halftime 28-10 WO-S

I agree with you. I believe all the stat and player talk is due to none of us having a clue to who has the edge. Seems to me this is probably one of the most even matchups in Texas. All the talk is for us fans to hqve something to do untill Friday. If you noticed, all the threads before this one when no one knew if this game would even happen, was a lot of smack and trash. This one is way different. Different in the fact that now the game is here, both teams fans, respect each others team. This is a toss up. I do believe this could be the state championship. I know were all excited for this game and win or lose, you know the kids will give it their all. This is why I love HS football.

The winner of Gilmer vs Argyle should win the state championship.

I like your prediction. I only see one problem with it. Everything I have read says they don't even kick extra points. I have no idea if they do or they don't but if what Im reading is true how do they get 7?

You can post all of the common head-to-head opponents that you want. It means less than nothing. It all comes down to matchups between WO-S and CS. If you're looking for even a glimmer of what is to come based on what has been, you're fishing with an empty hook.

If you want to see how much common opponents mean nothing, go look at Liberty and Cleveland. On paper Liberty should have won 40-0. They beat Shepherd, and Splendora a lot worse than cleveland did. The scored 13 on Coldspring. They scored 20 to Cleveland's 3 on Huffman but in the head to head match up Cleveland found a way to win. Common opponents mean NOTHING, especially when you guys have the same records against them I could see if WOS was losing to those teams, but no they were winning maybe not by as much as CS but they got the job done.

I have never told anyone on this board what they can post or what they can not post. I have never made a prediction of the outcome of this game. You are not a fool for predicting games, you are when you start to believe the prediction and get all bent of of shape when someone else challagnes it. Grow up guys, and pick on someone else. I have no ax to grind, I am a die hard Shepherd Pirate that has battled Coldsprings for 40+ years. If the stats hurt for you to read them or upset..then don't read them. After all we have at least 4 Coldspring supporters on this board. I have never called anyone out in two years. Have a good day and if these stats make you want to cry, cry with someone its more healing than crying alone.

Weirdest. Post. Ever.

Ya mad, bro?  ??? I didn't mean to get you upset. I was just responding directly to your post. My point was that past scores and past stats mean nothing - especially in Round 4 of the playoffs. It was far from personal. This is a sports board. Point/Counterpoint. It's all in fun, man.

No I though the reference to Pro scores was a little weird, been round enough to know when a faint is being stuck out in my face..didn't upset me one bit and when I start getting mad on these kind of boards I can and will pull the plug. I write sports and I cover Coldspring, do it for a living. I share no ones misery but at the same time I write in favor of the Trojans because that is what I know, know very little about WO-S other than what I research.

Share my brief notice about the game Friday night that I put in the paper:

TROJANS PLAY WEST ORANGE-STARK FRIDAY IN HUMBLE TURNER STADIUM
The Trojans will face what is expected to be their biggest hurdle this week playing the 21-3A District Champions, West Orange-Stark Mustangs. The Mustangs have a 10-3 record, but don’t be fooled by those 3 losses; two 1 point losses to 4-A play-off teams and a 14-6 loss to Giddings. This is a good football team with speed that can match the Trojans. Coached by Cornel Thompson, a well experienced respected high school coach that has been in the WO-S system under the masters watch of Coach Dan Hooks who retired this past season.
Coldspring will not face a more history filled football school than West Orange-Stark, they will being the entire package to the field Friday night, speed, offense, and a good defense. Building up steam from three straight playoff victories over Cleveland (58-14), Columbus (52-9) and Bullard (45-13) scoring stats should tell the Trojans fans that they are in for a game.

Cornel Thompson. Just a note.

Thanks for the correction; Deadline tonight at 10PM
All is well that ends well. I guess I will just have to learn how to Point/Counter Point a little better. Sounds fun and I have a lot of time on my hands to play.

    • A few Board of Regents agree for sure. Some administrative changes were based in large part on those moves.  Sam Houston is the only one this remotely did any service and of course they moved on as well.
