1. This topic is outrageous, It's extremely sad that you guys can bash a high school team like this. No one was saying they were loaded with D1 Talent, they said last year that Vaught, Lacefield, Melton, Fitz and possibly Jones would play college ball. Vaught, Lacefield and Melton are all currently playing college ball. The other arguement was that Liberty had 0 D1 players this year and the only counter was that they do, which is correct they have 1, so I don't 't see what the stir is about. It's appalling that a Liberty fan gets "admin edited" for something not very offensive but post like these are allowed to remain. It's outrageous that you guys sit here and bash children may God be with you. I'll keep the players who have to read this blasphemy in my prayers and ask that God help them not be rattled, and help them see that you guys were the ones who never got to get on the field, so you have to live through players you don't know and rival children from opposing teams.

Huffman could upset CS, the defending District Champs, but until they do it'll be this way. Liberty gave up 28 points to Splendora in their win last week and Cleveland didnt allow not a single point this week against them.Liberty will have to throw the ball a lot but Cleveland's secondary is too quick and if they try to run the ball all game like they did against Huffman they'll really get killed.Deel has to run more than the few number of plays he's running.   Some believe the players give up early in the game, well so do the coaches. The play selection proves this.I really feel for some of these players. The comment that Liberty has no D1 players is unfortunatly true but thats not the fault of the players that had D1 potential.I believe that a couple of these players would've had a decent chance had they been under another program.Daniel Fitzwater is a good example of this. His parents moved him where he had a better chance to be noticed. With the numbers he's putting up he is being noticed.Had he stayed at Liberty no school would even be looking. And I dont want to hear from any Liberty or Fitz haters that he's not being looked at because he is.FACT.Im not saying offers Im saying scouts.Looking and offers are different. Anyway,Liberty will get 4th at best if they dont get the big head and think they can beat Tarkington, those cowpokes are getting hungry for a district win.
I've been trying to stay off this website since Liberty is so bad and I'm a fan and don't want to get heated, but I was just appalled over and over again with the "no d1 players comment' you guys don't know our players. Omar Tebo is 300 pounds and runs under 5, he won state in power lifting, heavyweight division, I'm close friends with a former Liberty players who currently plays offensive line for Texas State University (D1 WAC) and he played with Tebo for a year or two and has no doubt in his mind that Tebo could keep up with him and his teammates. Omar isn't receiving letters anymore, he's receiving phone calls, and personal visits and some coaches have come out to watch him play/practice. He's an outstanding young man, smart, stays on his grades, and has a great family that makes sure he's on top of his game, he is polite and he happens to be an athlete. He has all the characteristics to make it to the next level then add in his size speed and strength and you would be considered ignorant for saying he won't go division 1. That's all I have to say about that topic for those of you from Huffman or wherever the heck your from thinking your some type of division 1 recruiting analyst, I'm no analyst myself but I've seen with my own eyes recruiters showing extreme interest in Omar, so have a nice day everyone.
The tangibles are certainly there and this is what scoutes will look at and recruit.  The question is the intangibles and the lack of discipline that was not instilled the last four years.  The same was true for the other person you mentioned who I hear is doing well.  The great family and the character you speak to in regards to both of these young men are what will most likely guide them through the next four to five years while being pushed.  It is a shame they did not reach the potential that God gave them while wearing black and gold.
True, and IMO that falls on the coaches. If the player has potential the coaches have to design plays and many other things to help these men reach their full potential and the coaches failed to that. The fact that there was no discipline in the program for the past 4 years shouldn't mean anything to a college coach, they have discipline at their university obviously, so they just need the athlete, and Omar Tebo is that athlete. As long as the player doesn't have discipline issues then the college coaches won't back off.

 4. Practice starts DURING SCHOOL, and they don't get to go home they practice again before getting to leave. Your facts are straight? Unless his attendance is poor, there's no way he can miss practice all the time. I've watched many practices myself, he shines out there like he does on the field. Truth is old Liberty folks don't wanna believe that this black kid is the heart and soul of their beloved traditionally white panthers. This kid is exceptionally good, and he's even better when it comes to just this team, I see no reason why everyone keeps hating on him? He's a 17 year old athlete just trying to due his job, he gets injured now you guys want to say he was never a factor, or he wouldn't change any scores? He lead Liberty in all purpose yards and td's for the past 2 seasons, how is he not a factor you guys are insane. You wanna know why Liberty sucks, because of THIS right here look at your posts this is our best player at the end of the day he's a child who goes home to his mom does his work and gets back to school the next day comes out on Fridays and performs, he's been doing it longer than any other player on the team with Fregia having missed a season, so this is why we suck, we have no support for our children/athletes and no respect for our coaches, even if they do suck they are our coaches and we have to trust they do the right thing, and as for bashing Jones' work ethic, that's too much this ins't the NFL he doesn't get paid he's a student athlete who happens to be an exceptional student FIRST. This is outrageous to see so many liberty fans shooting down a child, who happens to be our best player, and if the coaches didn't like him so much why design your offesne around him? If he doesn't work hard why does he get the ball? If he isn't at practice why is he the one who tells all the other wide outs how and where to line up watch the games he is a leader on the field through his play alone.

I looked at the schedule this year and after seeing these kids in off-season and two-a-days, there was not one game on the schedule that I said... "we're gonna get our butts handed to us". I knew Kountze would be tough this year, but you never know what Lion team will show up. The talented, fast, newly committed team showed up last week, and they handed it to us. Groveton will be tough too, but they were 3-7 last year and were beat by Trinity in Week 0. The last two times HD faced Groveton, it was a very competitive game, and I think the Bobcat team of this year is better than those HD squads. ('06/'07). Deweyville is always tough, but HD has a good chance of winning. Lovelady was awesome last year, but their enrollment is down 22% since the last alignment and they lost a ton of seniors dropping down to 1A DII... so they are beatable. Normangee will be tough, but beatable. I'm sure nobody thought that Kountze would knock off East Chambers a few years ago, or any of the other countless upsets that happen every season. That's why you play the games!! I consider myself pretty knowledgeable and I'm decent at picking games (2nd in the pick 'em contest so far... I know, to you AAW), and I think they have a decent shot at winning. We're not playing Dayton or West Orange Stark here people lol. Our coaches and kids read this stuff, so if they don't think that we believe they can win.... what does that tell them or do for their confidence? Just my .02 cents. Go Bobcats, and apparently Shock The World!!
Well, maybe if your 'Kids' would attend to things that they can control, like their team practices and their class work, instead of reading sports boards, they would give a better performance.  Just a thought. 8)
They do attend to team practices and their class work.  Every player in SETX reads these boards, that is not a sign of bad focus.  HD will have a tough challenege this week, but the game is winable.  This is a huge game for HD.  If we win this, we announce our presence in 1A.  Adjustments will be made, mistakes will be corrected, and the Cats will take Groveton down.
Unfortunately this game is not "winable". HD has no chance and should have stuck to scheduling the normal bottom feeders so they could have a good record while continuing their "tradition". Groveton scores 50 and it will depend upon how sorry the Groveton coaches feel for HD as to whether or not HD scores. Groveton has a highly athletic QB and RBs while HD has no speed or talent. It doesnt look like HD is going to be "hitting teams in mouth" as prophesied previously by the HD faithful/delusional.
Right, because you are the authority on Groveton football.  I'm sure you've seen them in person many time and can attest to their athleticism.  We submit to you and the mighty Falcon brand.  May you and your Barbers Hill transfers continue to rule the TXHSFB world.
That is correct. I have watched nearly every game they have played for the past several years.
Haha! It's one thing to use facts to make a point my friend, but when you make an extremely sarcastic post to a user who actually has seen them play quite often, you make a complete fool of your self.
It is not sarcastic, you know not what you speak of. I have watched nearly every Groveton game for the past several years. 8. I say Galena Park wins in a close game with both sides scoring around 30 but GP scoring a little bit more.

Lm will have to big lead early... however i'm hoping Coldspring's can make some halftime adjustments to make the game interesting. If not, shut out for la marque. LM 21 to 34 CS 10
I'm pretty sure that Carthage in '10 and Wimberley in '11 have prepared CS offense for the LaMarque defense.  I know they weren't LaMarque, but both did win the state championship that year.  I bet the game against Navasota last week has also helped to prepare CS for LaMarque.  I am not saying LaMarque is not a good team, and may beat Coldspring by 20 points this week, but I bet the Trojans have seen as good of a team in the last 2 years.  I guess we have to wait till friday to find out.  I still think the Trojans win.
I understand your post, and I see the point your trying to make, but being a 22-3A fan who has watched Coldpsring over the years and I watched Carthage in 10' on tv and i actually went to the Coldspring vs Wimberley game and was going for Coldspring both games. Now that I've said that so you dont shoot me down so easily, I've also seen LaMarque, I saw them beat Ozen and I saw them lose to Manvel, and Wimberley in 11 was nothing compared to LaMarque on O or D. If i had to scale them 1-10 say LaMarque was a 9 then i'd mark Wimberley at a 5 and 2010 Carthage at 7, so with that being said I don't believe Coldspring has ever experienced a D that will prepare them for LaMarque.
 10.
Sorry - but Hookem - as a Liberty fan please don't talk trash until we win a game or at least compete in one.  So far this year 113 - 26 is nothing to brag about.  Also, Jones is a quality athlete but would not have changed the total scores of either of the previous games by more than 7 points either way.  Fact is Liberty has a way to go and many holes that need filing before they are a quality team this year.  Hate to say it but looks like a long year for the Panthers.
Are you blind? He wasn't talking trash he was defending the fact that Jordan Jones is a "huge game changer" and if your a Liberty fan and have been around the past 3 years at least you would know that Jordan Jones is a "huge game changer" for our team. Go tell coach Deel that JJ isn't a "huge game changer" for HIS team and see what he has to say about that, Jordan Jones is the best player on the team, was the best player last year, and was the 2nd best player the year before, this kid is a huge game changer no one in their right mind would say Jordan Jones isn't a game changer for the Panther's btw he never said we would have beaten Jasper or Newton with him, just simply said he was a huge game changer.
Never called him a "world beater" he's a good player yes, and in 3A he's a great player. He's faster than most on this field and for the Panther's he is the key piece to it all. He's the leader of this team and has been making plays longer than any other panther in the program, without it him it's more of a mental let down than an actual one, the players don't play up to their best abilities, not to mention the fact that our offense is built around him so why don't you get your facts straight before you make statements like that, without him the Panthers can't do much, so It "amazes" me that you don't think he is a huge game changer because on THIS field for THIS team he is a " huge game changer"
 13. I haven't heard much about Buna, so it's hard for me to make a prediction. I'm going to say Liberty wins somehow some way, but if you guys could give me a little information on Buna that would be helpful.
 14. I'm all for supporting your team, but when you know your going to lose why predict a win? Your post was actually very good for once, you should have focused on everything you did, and added that HD could use all these to play better in the future and against Groveton, but predicting a win hurt the decently intelligent post. Groveton 50+ HD less than 14 Kountze dominated you guys, Groveton is good, and will dominate HD as well.
 15. Your defense is good enough to carry you guys to second. Then add the fact you have a running back who is faster than anyone on Cleveland's team, you'd have offense through that, and Austin Williams is too dynamic of a player he, along with the defense, Townley or no Townley wouldn't let Cleveland, Liberty, or Splendora beat them and the other schools wouldn't win if you didn't even send an offense out and only played with defense and special teams lol, but cs would win.
