I think that’s them. (Including La Porte, of course.) Sorry to say, that would not be a coverage area district. Needs to have at least 3 of our core teams. LP and Ball are not regularly covered here. From one side of Harris County to the other (Katy Freeman & La Porte), to Brazoria County (Angleton), to Galveston County (Galveston Ball). I don't have access to this mock, but it seems premature since cutoffs haven't been announced. Some of those teams may change depending on being classified differently. However, La Porte's travel burden will be lighter in this 10-5AD1 (45 miles avg.) than if they put them in the 8-5AD1(average of 59 miles) and for bidistrict might be paired with some Dallas area team in R2. What happened to the Pasadena schools in this mock? Quote

What happened to the Pasadena schools in this mock? I didn’t look at Pasadena schools. I’d have to look again. The travel distance in miles is one thing. Traveling from La Porte to Katy (which I did before retirement), and from La Porte to Richmond/Ft. Bend area is a different type challenge. It’s not always about miles. It’s an easy 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive in just ‘normal’ traffic, and that’s even taking 99 around. Worse on 10. The point was, the mock looks like just the left over teams in 5A D1 who didn’t fit anywhere else. It’s definitely a district with some solid teams. Quote
Austin1985 Posted December 12, 2025 Report Posted December 12, 2025 Stepp is as blind as the people at UIL HQ Why doesn't he put a northern Austin/Killeen area district in region 2 instead of 3? Why doesn't he propose to send Lufkin west instead of south or north? navydawg31 1 Quote

Separation Scientist Posted December 31, 2025 Report Posted December 31, 2025 Correct, it will be what it will be. Speculation is fun, but at the end of the day none of it will really matter. The UIL surprises most people every two years. Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago UIL just changed the cut-off number between 5A D1 and D2. D2 ends at 1869 now. D1 starts at 1870. Quote
