RIP Coach Hooks. Prayers of comfort for Family and Friends. He was a force to be dealt with on the side lines, I'm sure Refs across the state still get nervous at the hint of Coach Hooks name.

Coach Hooks will be missed! I've had the honor and privilege of serving with him! We learned the importance of real sacrifice from him as well as putting others before yourself! RIP!

He always took the time to speak with me, a nobody who wanted to be a somebody. Once after a tough playoff loss late in his career he looked at me and said "Coach, you win some and you lose some, and tonight we lost". RIP my good friend!

Gasilla,ladybug33,wosdrummer99,wos#1,Mmustangfan and so on this site.hard to put in words what he meant to all of us. And the program!! He wasn't just a coach a leader.i don't know anyone who wouldn't have loved to play for him.i know many say we were spoiled for all the years we were winning.and now today's game has changed.but, the toughness he and CT expected out of all of us was unmatched.looking on FB it is sooo many ppl.sending love and support.and if y'all get a chance look at what Kevin smith wrote about him.its truly a sad day for all of us.as them kids get ready to play in the semifinals.we all gotta give the current staff credit for going back to the way things were.trust me they even tackling more in practice and even hitting the sled again after practice!! I truly believe HH learned the lesson of it wasn't broke don't try to fix it.LOL,OC well any way!! But I truly have seen a lot of the old stuff that made us great.i know he is smiling down on all of us. The ol ball coach rip dan ray hooks !!

I remember so many good things that he said to encourage others who were down. My daughter wore a sweater to school one cold day; he saw her shivering took off his WOS jacket and he gave it to her. The last time I spoke to him was when we played in the Astrodome. What a great individual he was.  I will never along with so many others forget him.
