I think Silsbee has the best DL/LBs in the district and I would say Top 10 in 4A. Very soldi group. Silsbee weakest link for defense has been the secondary. They are pretty young but have started to get better.

Not looking ahead, but if WO-S beats Silsbee but looses to HF, how will the playoff seedings be? Each of these three teams would have one district loss to each other. Silsbee beat HF, WO-S beat Silsbee and HF would have beaten WO-S.

9-4A DII max points is 21 I believe (could be 18)

Silsbee currently is at +21

HF is at -21

WO-S is at 0

 

If WO-S were to beat Silsbee by a score of 28-21, then the point totals would be Silsbee +14, WO-S +7, HF -21

If HF were to beat WO-S by a score of 28-21, then the final totals would be Silsbee +14, WO-S 0, HF -14. Silsbee would be the #1 seed, WO-S #2, HF #3.

Those are just examples. In a three way tie, only the scores of the games played between the three teams are used in a tiebreaker.

Right now, HF is in a bad spot with losing by 21 points. With the 21 point max, they basically have no chance to be #1 seed.

 

Personally, I don't see WO-S losing to HF.

What I saw from the HF game made me rethink Silsbee strengths. Their ability to handle 5-6 blockers with just 3 hands in the turf personnel with blitz packages was eye opening.

That pash rush/run containment is top notch, even with a suspect secondary at times.  The LBs ability to drop, strafe and blitz was definitely game changing, if not season changing for the Tigers.

I will stand by my assessment that if Silsbee can run...it will be tough for anyone to overcome the D into the first two rounds.  The offense needs another gear to go further...maybe the youngns' will find that gear.
