The crazy growth around Hwy 59/I-69 corridor

We been seeing discussions on how throughout this area of Montgomery, Liberty and San Jacinto counties how this area has been growing.  From a football perspective does this help or harm the schools in the area getting placed in districts where the higher the enrollment gets you placed in a district where you can't compete or can it help to where to can get quality players out of a quanity of students and have to make do with whatever comes with it.  Thoughts?

All depend on what kind of "growth" it is.

No one wants the Cleveland "growth".

87% of Cleveland ISD is Hispanic and many of those don’t speak much English.  I can’t think of a single sport they have been competitive.

33 straight losses. Lost 54-6 this year to Splendora, who's a bad 5A-D2 team in the same boat they are. Their closest game in the last 2 years was a 21-0 loss to West Fork, who's only getting better. Cleveland may not win another game for a decade. I'm not sure how far down they'd have to schedule to get a win in that area. Tarkington would've been an interesting matchuphis year. Coldspring maybe? I'm pretty sure Coldspring beats them. Maybe 3A-D2 New Waverly, a 2 or 3-win 3A-D2 team? I honestly don't know.

Coldspring has not grown any. Shepherd will drop back to 3A at the next alignment after the current Senior and Junior class graduate. Tarkington has also lost numbers. Cleveland has lost numbers as well. Splendora is the only one growing at the moment.

Sad that a 6A school has to look for down 3A schools to seek a win.

It's natural for all areas north and east of 99 to see crazy growth.  I wanna say there are at least 2 subdivisions being build east of 59 on 99.  But again, that specific kind of growth is the key.  All I know is, the greater Cleveland area won't be competitive for the forseeable future

From ih10 to ih10 on 99 will be packed within the next 15 years.   I expect at least 6 or 7 new schools just along 99.

According to Max Preps last year:  Boys futbol was 5-13-4 and Girls futbol was 2-15-7.

Exactly what I was thinking.  In both Cleveland and Splendora's case it has hindered them more than helped.

We know why they won't schudule us... Pretty obvious giving the history of us vs. them.
