This had to have been expected.

Only so much we can do with what we had out there playing. Payton needs to shoot the ball more.

Got a few good wins though.

I agree. Playing without two of your best three players (Miller, Botley) and a reserve that may end up starting (Johnson) against a formidable opponent in Peabody was probably too much to ask. Peabody is really good.

Great experience for the Tigers.

Can't wait to see this team at 100%.

Is Johnson recovering from injuries? Have been wanting to see him in action on the court.

He's not injured anymore. There's another reason he ain't playing right now. Should be back in about a week or two though.

Definitely would have been a much different game with those players there looked like we were tired in the fourth.  Shots coming up short from field and the free throw line.  Just having those two out there would have given some of those guys a little more time to rest.  Not to mention. The obvious factors.

Win or lose, these are invaluable games for the Tigers.  Especially since their district appears even weaker than usual this year.  I think the result, given the hand they were played, is probably as good as can be expected.  Silsbee would be my favorite out of region 3 to get to SA.

The coach's poll has Eastern Hills at No. 1.  Yet they lost to Southlake Caroll who isn't on the poll's 6A top 25.  If EH really is a tad better than Faith Family then this is going to be very interesting year in 4A.  Caroll is a team that all of the 4A top 10 could be competitive with on a given night.  So there aren't any monsters in 4A this year?

Or is FF just toying with us all?

Trust me, Peabody lost. Was keeping up with the game as it was being played.

Kid from the Kentucky team got MVP

    • but will he be doing contact football drills mid-season?
    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
