Just stating facts. Lamar is not playing well in all phases of the game right now. They are not hitting well, not pitching well, and not scoring enough runs to win games. call these comments negative if you want but they are facts. I simply think Lamar can’t recruit well and on the negative side Davis has not done well since he has been there. The pitching staff may be better than last year as you have stated, however it is not good by any means

100% accurate statement. Got to take the good facts with the bad facts as miserable as they may be. Lamar baseball under Davis has been below average & the track record does not show he's the coach to get or keep Lamar at the top half of their conference.

2 outs in the 8th and then an error no runs were earned... but you have to suck it up at some point and pick up your fielders as well. After the error, the pitcher just totally lost it.

Another day and another loss 5-1 today. Overall record falls to 18-16 and conference to 4-7.

Very early in conference especially for teams that have already had the bye/off week....with that said UIW and HCU are about to be sitting 1-2 in conference if HCU can hold a 8 run lead in the 9th (not a given based on their season) against Northwestern State.  UIW and HCU were picked at the bottom of conference.  McNeese, SELA and LU are presently 6, 8 and 9. These 3 schools were picked 1, 2 and 3. What a sport.

Nice win and an excellent pitching performance today. It looks like I am going to be right on the money after TCU. I predicted 19-17 after TCU

They have 20 regular season games left

My predictions: non conference- losses to TCU, Baylor, Houston, UT Rio Grande, and 1-2 vs SFA. Wins- Prarie View and 1 vs SFA (2-6)

conference: 1-2 vs SEL, 1-2 vs McNeese, could be anywhere from2-1 to 1-2 vs CC and HCU

season before tournament anywhere from27-28 to 25-30

changed from yesterday: conference anywhere from 11-13 to 9-15

if they make conference tournament 0-2

Wow, what a nice win vs TCU. I did not expect this. Bats came alive tonight and pitching did enough for the W

The Cards have 2 nice wins vs A&M and TCU, however they are average in one of the weakest conferences in NCAA D1. It appears that they play to the level of competition

Maybe they can get it going this 2nd half of conference

Nice win is correct. Bats need to come around in conference play.

Conference ranks 17th out of 31 of utilizing Boyd'sworld Interactive  Strength  Rating.

yes I checked some others. there are about 300 teams in Division I baseball. All of Southland other than A&M Corpus and Houston Christian ranks between 100 and 150. So Southland is in the middle of the pack in baseball. It hasn't sunk to the bottom like the other sports.

The Cards just can’t get it done. Relief pitching is still poor and get get timely hitting going. I don’t know for the life of me why they seem to always play bad vs A&M CC.

3 conference series left and since they never seem to play well vs SEL, I look for 1-2 vs them, 1-2 vs Mc Neese, and either 2-1 or 1-2 vs HCU. They end up in conference either 10-14 or 9-15 and probably in 9th out of 9

Well Lamar comes through against Houston

They beat 3 good teams in A&M, TCU, and U of H, but haven’t won but 1 series in the Southland conference

How can you play good against those 3 but lousy vs 1 of the weakest conferences in NCAA D1

Look for 1-2 vs SEL and McNeese. I don’t know how they will do vs HCU

Got the 1st conference sweep with an outstanding 19hit attack and 12 runs

Starting pitcher did a fabulous job, however 3 of the 4 relievers were bad. Davis keeps putting 2 of them in and they are bad just about every time they pitch but he keeps putting them in

They need to win 5 of their last conference games to move up for the tournament

6 non conference games left. Should beat PV and hopefully 2 of 3 vs SFA. I do not know how they will do vs Baylor and UT Rio Grande Valley

Every time you think Lamar baseball is going to do something they wind up choking the pooch

Just can’t do much under Davis’s coaching

They have got to find pitchers that can get it done or another pitching coach or both

Had enough hits and runs to win, but pitching staff let them down again

Still not sure if they will make the top 7 in conference

    • He actually had a pretty solid year for a sophomore starting in that district. I can assure you, it hasn't hurt his recruiting at all and that will only improve with the move back to the Wack.
    • If Crumedy eventually has bigger aspirations than being in Jasper, every aspect of the program will be looked at when someone interviews him for any job. He knows that. The mindset needs to be that any time someone wears a Jasper uniform, that they're doing everything they possibly can to win. It matters.
    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up It's a poll but I could definitely see this as realistic.   From the article: Catholics in the United States have swung dramatically against President Biden in recent years, now boasting a significant statistical break towards his GOP challenger. Pew Research released on Apr. 30 a report exploring support for presidential candidates sorted by religious affiliation. The poll found that 55% of Catholics support or lean towards supporting former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head against Biden. Conversely, only 45% of Catholics support Biden in the same one-on-one pairing. The 12% margin of support in favor of Trump marks a significant shift from 2020, when he held an extremely narrow lead — 50% to 49%. Biden currently leads among Hispanic Catholics with a narrow 49%-47% split, but the close contest marks a major shift rightward for the demographic. In 2020, a similar poll from Pew Research found Hispanic Catholics preferred Biden to Trump with a staggering 67%-26% split.
    • You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and its wreaking havoc.
    • He's already stated he's a huge Clinton fan.
