Week 5 Rescheduled Games

So far, Beta is just affecting the Houston area as far as postponements but a couple of the SETXsports "umbrella" have been pushed back to Saturday:

Friendswood at Humble Summer Creek pushed from Thursday to Saturday at 1 at Turner

Dayton at Montgomery Lake Creek pushed from Thursday to Saturday at 2 in Montgomery

Galveston Ball at Angleton has been pushed back to Saturday at 1 in Angleton

La Marque at Huffman has now been rescheduled for next Tuesday, Sept. 29

Gonna be a long wait for pickem results now. Is this due to beta or Covid?

Yeah, but with La Marque being down in Galveston Co., they wanted to make sure flooding had subsided.

And both schools have an OPEN week next week, so they figured that they could be extra cautious.

Again an abundance of caution. But why not move the game to next friday? Tuesdays need love too I guess.

I've never understood the reason for that. This is what ranked teams in our area schedule before district.

Some coaches don't want to risk injury a week before district.  Some want that extra week to heal up before district.

I'll have to look at the others, but WO-S didn't schedule a bye before district because their bye is built in to the district schedule due to having an uneven number of teams in district.
