Huffman vs College Station

Recommended Posts

It is possible that they are the 2nd best team in region 3.

Exactly. "You wont find a better or more talented team". The winner of this series will be the better team. Playoffs are how you determine the "better" team.

Any updates?

A. not yet are they the second best team!! I don't believe they will be either
B. College Station was the better team
C. College Station won game 2 and game 3

Know this might sound crazy, but they might be the #1 team in any class!! I know 4 of them have committed to D1 schools and several others have offers. OF Johnson will be a first round selection in next years draft. I know that doesn't mean they can't be beat, but there is not a better team in the state than College Station in any class IMO. Brenham and College Station played early in the season with CS winning 5-2 in a very good game.

More than 4:

Ryan Johnson- TCU
Mcgregor Hines- Florida
Baylor Rowlett- OSU
Cody Staab- Rice
Matthew Bennett- Texas
Kyle Richardson- A&M

They have not won the region yet. They still have a game to go. We do know that they are better than Huffman. You guys will have to try harder than this get me going. I stick to facts, scores and realism.

Huffman has done great at almost every sport this year , great season falcons!

As for football, basketball and baseball goes, Silsbee has more combined playoff rounds than any area school this season. 3 rounds football, 3 rounds basketball, now 5 rounds baseball. In football, Silsbee was knocked out by eventual state champ Carthage and in basketball was knocked out by state runner up Houston Yates.

I think they are talking about all sports, including girls. As a whole program they have excelled in almost all sports. Congrats to them.

Also, congrats to Silsbee they are having another good year.

    • That's an interesting take, but considering that an incumbent enjoys a HUGE advantage historically, I think Covey came pretty close to an upset. I don't care one way or the other - the biggest reason being that I live in Hardin County. But I have to think the Trump endorsement got Covey that close in the first place. His only recognition was on a very local level, virtually unheard of before the Trump endorsement. Otherwise, he probably would've lost by thousands of votes instead of a few hundred. Just my observation.
    • I think the interesting point is this… Trump backed candidates do better when Trump is on the ballot. Back in March Covey was up by 3%, and that skirt from Jasper pulled about 10%… and most people believed that her voters would go directly to Covey. Conventional wisdom was that Covey would be up by 10-12 points if all things went according to the pattern from March. That just didn’t happen. Typically turnout is lower in runoffs than in the primaries, and my guess is that Phelan had fewer votes this time around than last, but covey had WAY fewer votes. A friend of mine has been watching a similar runoff in central texas, and the results were similar. The MAGA guy just didn’t turn out the votes this May.    My opinion is that a large portion of the support these Trump guys are just that…. Trump supporters. They’ll vote down ticket according to MAGA directives when Trump is on the ballot, but when they can’t vote Trump, they just don’t show up at all.

    • Then you should have known lots of people said the exact same thing when the alcoholic Democrat Ann Richards was elected way way back in the day. Texas has become redder and redder ever since. People, especially blacks, are waking up and realizing the Marxist Democrats are destroying them. Feel free to hold your breath waiting on your dream to happen though. That would be fun to watch, LOL.
    • I don’t think anyone thinks y’all are short on pitching. But 7 pitchers that can go 7 innings in the Regional Finals is a bit of a stretch I would think. I think that’s why he made the joke. Let’s just hope that this weather allows us to play a normal baseball game and not fight through mutiple rain delays every night.
