20-4A Thoughts

Going into this season, I believe MOST of us would have agreed that Central would repeat as district champs. However, with Wileridge leaving (presumably), I think the district is wide open for either Ozen or Nederland to win the crown. I think Central is still the favorite, but Toe-Toe will be hard to replace. What do you think?
I think Torry will remain here to compete with his bros. Once again, I think the district race will be close. Central returns most of their players , Ozen will be senior heavy this year, and Nederland will [s]luck up [/s].....errr I meant be in the district race  ::)

This is the first i've heard of Wileridge leaving... I am guessing he's going to a big private school like Oak Hill Acedemy? Is this True? If so, good for him.  I think that's the same road Steven Jackson (PA) took and it worked out pretty well for him.  There's not doubt Central will be a different team without Wileridge and it would bring Nederland and Ozen in the mix to compete for district.... Only time will tell.
I agree; Pearson IS a beast, and I believe Central will be fine too. But I don't think Central will dominate as they would have if Toe-Toe was still there. Again, I don't know for sure if he is leaving. If he stays a Jag, then Central is the clear favorite to repeat as district champs. If not, I think it is wide open for the taking.
Torry brings some stability to Central's team. The ultimate teammate who I wish would take more control of games. Has a good mental feel for the game.

All the schools mentioned will do fine. They will all have winning records. They will all make playoffs. The real question is, do these teams have what it take to make it to regionals and be successful???
Agree. Not sure how stacked the region is this year, but I would guess that it's not too stacked to where one of these teams makes the Regional Tourney. Will any of them advance and go to state? Depends on the matchups in the playoffs. We don't know who each team will face in the post season. The post season is too far away, and there is too many 'unknowns' out there to discuss who will make it to state from this region. This thread is mainly for bragging purposes.

It will be another close race to see who wins the district title. I don't think there is much question of the top three teams. Is there any other teams in the district who may make some noise?

I think it could be a battle for the 4th spot between LCM,Lumberton and Vidor.  I think Lumberton will end up with the final spot in the playoffs.
PNG has made the playoffs 2 of the past 3 years. I wouldn't count them out.

Central will be full of battle-tested juniors, Ozen with mostly seniors this year I think,  and Nederland with Weisbrod and ? and? hmmm?

Too early to tell about the guys below.
LCM?
pn-g?
Lumberton?
True. Lot of unknowns with Nederland this year. Will be a fun challenge for Coach E

LCM is returning 3 all district players and 6 to 7 seniors.  They should be the favorite for the 4th spot.  If they can take care of the ball and cut down on the turnovers I think they could suprise some people and maybe finish in 3rd.
You meant 4th, right?  Or do you seriously expect to beat out Nederland this year? Didn't realize you guys had 6-7 seniors this year. It could be possible.

Does that mean you have Central and Ozen automatically sloted for 1 and 2?  :) Getting a win against Ned. at home would be an upset but I think we have a shot.  Got to have goals right?
Over the past few seasons, LCM has come close to defeating both Ned and Central. The Bear Den is no easy place to win. Having so much experience should help even more. Ned will be young this year as far as varsity Experience goes. Only one starter, and I believe 4 or 5 returning Lettermen.
