Don't get me wrong, Malveaux is a good player but he was the least effective of all Ned's d-linemen last year. He's short and moves slow laterally, he'll be cut down all night with our zone blocking scheme. The only interior lineman that gave us trouble last year was #76 from SC and Caleb isn't that type of player, hard kid to move but we don't run iso plays.
Maybe you need to re-watch the video,  the QB was running for his life most of the game, and Crosby's D couldn't stop anything that Ned was doing.  14-0 in the 1st with 5 min left.  Also,  I hope you have a better  punter than last year the kicking game put you in  a hole all night.
We do have a different punter. We couldn't stop Ned's O? Y'all got 14 points in the first and we played the last 3 quarters to a 7-7 tie. We had a costly turnover and left a couple plays on the field. Y'all got the same 20-21 points you scored on Vidor, Dayton, Connally, and Dawson. That's all y'all score on decent teams and couldn't manage that on Georgetown. We'll see what happens in the second year of the offense. Aston was also told not to run last year so he could get used to reading defenses in the new system. I bet he takes off more this year.
Because we didn't need to score any more.  Defense takes care of their part.  Every game you listed with the exception of Georgetown we won, so i would say it worked out ok.  :)
IJS, in the last couple of seasons in Ned's more noted games against WOS, Crosby, Dayton, Barbers Hill, Vidor and 7 playoff games(#envious) win or lose they haven't scored over 25 points. They did get 31 on Angleton last year though. Your offense didn't get better or more explosive by losing Raines and Shaw either. I think Ned is going to score in the mid to low 20's like the normally do in games like this. Question is can we get 28 or 30?
All those teams you listed have pretty good defenses too. But so what if we don't score 50 a game, our offense isn't meant to just run up the score board.. It's meant to tire out the opposing defense, limit turnovers, and keep our defense rested for the end of the game. Last time I checked you just have to score more than the opposing team. And lately we've been really good at that. White is not bad, don't sleep on him. We replace Shaw and Barrow with Seay, who is very good, and some juniors that are bigger and stronger then them both. Broussard is quick and decent size, Bordelon has hands like glue, and Richardson is very quick. That's not even mentioning Krautz who is faster and bigger than Barrow was. Hopkins only got better in the offseason, and Barton and Dial should really help back there too.
. . . . plus a first year qb making his first start and on the road at that against our 3rd year qb making his 24th start. The tables are almost exactly turned from last year since it was our first game with a new coach and on the road in a tough environment. If we can get Austin going I think we'll win, and I like our chances at that.
Only thing that is exactly turned is the road game, and QB for us. We have a very experienced team with a great coaching staff that will have the team ready to play.

 3.
Is Nederland front line on defense better this year or last? Is Nederland QB better this year or last? I know Crosby's off. line will be much better this year then last and the offense they have everyone back. Crosby Defense they lost their line and some DB's.
Front line is not as good, idk if Ned will ever have that kind of D-Line again, but they're still pretty darn good. Carson was a very good leader and had the ability to make big plays when needed. But I think Preston can mold into the same type of player this year. Both teams have a lot returning this year, two good teams that are going to be fun to watch.
 4.
I am also hoping Crosby beats Nederland being KP is from District 19-4a.  I think Crosby line is bigger and better then last year since they are returning 5 off. line.  Crosby has two big rec. 6'5" and 6'3" and a good QB and running back. Crosby will have 3-4 off. line app. 270 each and I think they will slow Nederland front three down some.  Nederland sounds like they have the best front three in the area according to what a lot of people from Nederland are saying. It sounds like the Nederland has the biggest and quickest DB in the area.  They should have the best def. in the area.
That would be Tony Brown of Ozen.. Seay and Kimler are both big, but more physical and intelligent than most players.

 6.

Our offense will definitely keep our defense on the bench a lot more this year, we can grind it out or strike really fast, the cougars will find this out Friday night......Dogs 38-17
When has Ned ever struck fast or had a high powered offense? Now with a first year starter at qb Ned is going to be high powered? First of all Ned's running attack which is the lifeblood of their offense was greatly helped along by a good o-line. With the departure of guys like Pryor Ned's line is going to be hard pressed for improvement over what it was last year. Even still it took 46 team carries to get over the 200 yard mark on our D which should be a lot better this year. Raines made some good veteran plays last year like you would expect a three year starter to but I'm expecting some growing pains the new qb's first start, especially on the road.
Our first year QB is very comfortable in the pocket, can run a little, and has a decent arm. Four of our five lineman started last year.. Hopkins, Dial, and Barton all return in the backfield. Each one of them are bigger, stronger, and faster than last year. With people like Kimler and Seay on the outside, that's match up problems with any team. Also don't forget the names Bordelon and Broussard, both kids have great hands and can run. Also have arguably the best kicker in the area on our team too. So do not underestimate the Bulldogs offense this year. It's going to be their strong point.
 7.

You have NOONE who can block Caleb Malveaux either.
Josh Blackburn was all-state on a couple teams and did very well against everybody that lined up on him except Washington. He'll be even better this year but still won't be able to block D.Wash. Pryor on Kouron allowed Washington to make even more plays but they're gone now. By no stretch am I saying it will be easy to block Ned's d-line because of their departure but I think Aston will have more time and our line is a year older and stronger. If Aston has time I think Ned will struggle to cover our receivers.
Still have Kimler and Seay back there.. Both are big fast and physical. Both always make big plays too.. Krautz has a ton of speed and will run with Crosby's receivers.

 9.
Does Ned have a big offenses line?  How big are they? Crosby rec are bigger then NED rec but are they faster?
Not that big, but good with technique. NED has some speed out there, but I think they have better hands than speed.
 10.
after 2 scrimmages has peoples opinion changed?
A little bit, But still think Ned and Central are better. Vidor and PNG will be fighting for 3rd spot.
 11. Haven't been impressed by WOS scrimmages, but both Vidor and Nederland are greatly better than LCM. WOS should walk through them.
 12. Silsbee still is the favorite for their district, and PNG is still unproven. It's not like a big shock the world upset, but Silsbee is still favored to win the game.
 13. I believe this is going to be a offensive showdown.. Not going to give a score, but I do have Nederland winning.
 14.
260yards?? wow, where was the defense???? i'm use to it, because of our wet paper bag run defense at PAM(hopefully that will change). Also, Ned backup QB is very calm and composed and had nice touch on the ball. I would have liked to have seen him throw to the first stringers, but he only played in 4th q.
Seay and Kimler are two playmakers that are very important to Ned's success this year.
