Hope for safe travels for everyone and a competitive game.  I don’t think I’ll be making this one.  Grandkids are coming up for the Chester Fall Festival (Saturday at 4).

Bo is a good friend of mine. We were neighbors here in Silsbee for several years. Played many a softball game together.

We sit in no-man’s land between the Beaumont TV coverage area and the Lufkin/Longview/Tyler coverage area.  And……I know it’s not on anyone’s radar.  Just trying to let the boys know there are those out there that support them.

State Championships:
Burkeville -  Football 1986 & 2001
Chester - Basketball 1970
Now, I’m sure there are individual championships, such as track golds that I am unaware of.  I know we had a female in our class win state back to back seasons in track.

Looks like Burkeville has a significant lead in the overall history, however Chester has won 4 of the last 6.

Burkeville (2-4) travels to Chester (3-4) this coming Friday night for a big district match-up.  Leverett’s Chapel (4-2) is leading the district, with High Island (1-6) rounding out the district.  If you have never been to a 6-man game I invite you to make the trip to beautiful Aubrey Bradley Stadium in downtown Chester.  Burkeville has a very storied and successful history in football and this should be a great game.  1-A doesn’t get much love or coverage, but football is still a big thing in small towns too.  The weather should be great, concessions are always good and the atmosphere will be exciting.  If you make it let me know and I’ll keep an eye out for you.  These two are old long-standing district mates and hopefully this will be a great game.

Hamshire-Fannett is now 3-0 in Homecoming games this year. HF will host Libery on 10/27/2023 for their last Homecoming game of the season, in which HF will be heavy favorites. If HF prevails, will this be a new state record? Can any team boast a better Homecoming record (4-0) in one year?

So according to you she is good on the education side but bad on the sports side.
That is kinda like saying my kid passed all her subjects but but failed PE.

I know that high school football is a way of life in Texas but however, I don't understand. Do they need a new stadium when they already have a big one? Prosper used to play their games at some middle school which used to be their high school (which probably middle school/junior high and Sub-varsity games are played there now as well as soccer). Could that money better used toward something else like spending on teachers and students?

Yeah I never feel good about my Pick-ems picks when I have to google where some of these places are lol
