As East Texas commented we do well in Track speed events. And yes the AD’s get the credit, but so does the Super for bringing them here. This also goes beyond sports and extends to academics and all UIL events. BH has been district UIL champs for like 27 years straight! The BH super isn’t perfect, but thank God he isn’t a liberal that caves to anyone crying.

Strange night of football.  Sterling had maybe 35 fans and did not send a band or cheerleaders or anything else to Lufkin.  There was only the football team. Can not remember that ever happening that way at ABE for a Varsity football game.  We may have had past instances where the visiting  band did not show up or had to leave right after halftime because of UIL competition the next day, but never with zero student body representation from a school.  BS sent no one else, just the 35 fans and the football team.

It reminded me of the Deer Park game. I'm not sure what they were doing. Still don't know why they passed the ball at the 2 in the 1st half when 26 was getting around 3-4 yards a carry. 

So why, exactly, did BH not go for the field goal at the end of the game?  I know they got down to the 2 and then got sacked twice but did they not have any time outs or did Coach Abseck lose track of the clock or something else happen, or what?

Offensive playing calling is definitely a head scratcher. At some point coaches have to tell QB to keep the ball on the read option. It was open all night for huge yardage. I thought defense did good except for last 8 minutes of the game. I think they got tired.
as mentioned in other posts, we gave DP the ball inside our 20 twice of muffed punt return and a snap over the punters head. We didn’t convert hardly any 3rd downs due to poor play calls and inaccurate passes. The D gave up 50, but 28 points were OT and two give me’s on botched plays. This game should’ve never been close. I would even say atleast 49-21 should’ve been the score. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Let’s see what the coaches can come up with.

Last week we struggled against a Manvel team we should have easily put away. I said then we HAVE to fix the special teams. They killed us last week but we got away with it. This week I looked for vast improvement but it got even worse. In first half we gave away 14 points. Snap over punters head (again) and fumbled a kick return inside the 5. Thats 14 points given away. Should have been BH 14-7 at half but it was 21-14 DP.
At end of regulation our game winning FG was blocked with 3 sec. left. Another 3 given away for a total of 17 points surrendered. If just ONE of the special teams mistakes don't happen, we win for sure. The O and D did a good job. Our special teams are terrible, they kept the team in a bind all night long. Its critical now. If we don't fix the special teams we have a bad season ahead. We also have to develop a real killer instinct to finish an opponent off. We don't have that yet. We are capable of winning but we have to execute and finish. Clock is ticking. Just one more week to get it right.          

These Coaches couldn’t win a close game if they had to. From now on if we go into OT I say just forfeit and move to the next game. We get up by 7 with 9 minutes left and start milking the clock? We seem to never play to win just try to play not to lose when it’s tight. Running the ball up the middle for little to know gain and always putting your QB in 3rd and long doesn’t help either…oh well I’m just rambling now ,but this is getting old fast.

Bud isn’t wrong on the Porter and Playoff game. It was embarrassing and should have never happened hopefully they fix that this year. Anyway this is a Crosby thread and hope they can stop the Drama and get back to where they were. 

Easy.  The District Newcomer of the Year and the District MVP didn't play in the game they lost last year due to covid. This year they played. EOS. The rest is nonsense.

Return is set for July 1.  SLC numbers continue to jump.  Could see a few more school join as well. 
The loss of Grand Canyon starting in 2025 may bring the WAC to an end.

Has Nederland ever beat Friendswood in any sporting event?

I’m just another dumb Crosby graduate, but another way of saying 60 of the 80 varsity players were from feeder schools is:  25% of Northshore’s varsity players came from other districts. 

The UIL: "Former North Shore offensive coordinator Andrew Cameron recruited players from area schools, and is suspended for 3 years." 
Andrew Cameron: "I did in fact recruit players from area schools."
Coach Izzy: "Listen guys, that didn't actually happen.  Trust me."

Obviously the UIL got it wrong because Coach Izzy "really knows what happened", they just randomly hand out 3 year suspensions for DMs. 

Dude, North Shore just came and got our star '27 receiver. When Coach P was at Crosby he pulled up in Barrett Station one time because he thought/heard a North Shore coach was trying to acquire his kids during some training sessions. So a head coach with zero connections to the area was already concerned about his kids being poached by North Shore. Furthermore, at the area track meet in BH last year I was offered a "way" for both of my high school sons to come to North Shore. Again, you can parse the words whichever way you please but the UIL just agreed with my point of view so it seems you're the one making baseless statements even though you "know what's going on behind the scenes".

The UIL Executive Committee did not punish the North Shore program, instead focusing it's judgement on Cameron, who admitted at Wed. hearing to recruiting players from area schools. Gaston, whom the committee  ruled was responsible for the program as a whole but did not participate in the violations."

That was an ugly win for BH but a win is a win. Better find more offense for the next one.
