The 8th grade class will be the largest in Lumberton history that is coming through. So the question is do they count the 8th grade class coming in?  

I don’t think lack of hunger or off-season expectations were the issue with LCM. Sometimes, you either have the tools or you don’t. Same goes for Lumberton moving forward. Although, I hope they can keep it up. 

And that's why comparing them to any of the public school powerhouses is useless. It would be like taking some of the best pieces from all the schools in Houston and putting together a team. No doubt they would play neck and neck with those kids.

I agree. Miller didn't "torch the Tech guy" like it was stated. It was more so great passes by Brisbane. Miller had 4 catches on the night for about 100 yards. Torching would be 8-10 catches for 200 yards. I thought the coverage over all was very good on Miller.

If you take away the two costly turnovers that gave FBM 14 points in the ball game on punts this game is a different story. We were way more physical than FBM and they were having players getting taken off the field all night due to the fact. 6-7 times as a matter of fact. Not to mention we also had our QB banged up and take of the field for a few series in this one. If PNG can limit the QB and RBs big plays defensively and play solid coverage down field we can win this game. Gonna need the defense to play inspired football and we need the offense to play a full 2 half's without the 3rd quarter lull we seem to have. If PNG can play all 4 qrts they can beat anyone left in this thing.

Went to the Katy HS V SC game on Friday. Once again so many schools/towns need to take note.
1. best homemade run through signs. 
2. signs on bleachers that cover the whole stadium.
3. no one is sitting on 3rd down. Even up 28.
4. Band plays loudly when on defense. Surpringly I’ve seen plenty that don’t.
5. fans are actually there for opening kickoff. 
I know this all sounds trivial but it shows you care. I know PNG is right there too. I just ain’t seen them play this year. Can’t wait to see your crowd this week.

If they play to the best of their abilities, Tigers by 7.
I think Carthage and maybe Wimberley are the only two teams Silsbee would be an underdog against.

Never double or triple team Miller. Don't do that and you're sure to win. Remember, single coverage only 👌

Good post and I don’t disagree with a single word of that.  I guess other than one WOS player single-handedly beating the Bears and I don’t disagree with that because I missed that game and can’t confirm or deny it.  But I get your point. 

All BS talk aside now! It’s game day! May the best team win! Raiders play physical, fast, and trap them damn Dawgs! Prayers for an injury free game on both sides! Dawgs have basketball practice to start and Raiders have regional finals to prep for. 

The Bears made a splash last year when the injury bug kept them from a shot at the semis (same thing happened to WOS)
We were a mobile/consistent passing QB away from a potential repeat of last years success with the Lumberton game being the only game we still struggle in (they are good)
As far as the WOS game need I remind you that the player that single handedly beat us will be dressing out in green and gold next year due to all the issues south of I-10.
With the Chevron project coming in dozens of new families will be moving in and look for quality education and athletic opportunities. Guess where they'll go? 10 sophomores starting with 14 returning overall plus JV talent. If Peevey can take advantage of some of these potential possibilities, they will fill the void on the gridiron where the Silver and Blue once dominated. 
And yes it looks to be a stellar year in Basketball and Baseball.

Very true. Does not mean you have to love football any less but you need to love God more.

I look forward to games like this because of the type of town we are playing. A good sized blue collar town that isn't DFW/Houston/Austin mega school (or soon to be mega school).  Lots of similarities in the schools and the people who live there. I thought the same thing when we played BWB in the title game several years ago. Glad to see like towns/schools have this success.
I get some of our fans and the degree of confidence. There are a lot of non Longview fans in that thread who are predicting some of the craziness and being down right disrespectful.  Most of us know what PAM is going to put on the field on Friday. We also know there is a problem defensively in discipline with PAM. You guys have given up a lot of points and honestly shouldn't have. So yeah that's gives us confidence because we know our defense will get some stops.
Other than the rain, turnovers, penalties, this game comes down to two things that are pretty simple in my eyes. Does Longview coach get conservative and play into PAMs defense. You guys have trouble stopping the run but have gotten pretty stout on the interior. When LV gets conservative we will continually run it right at you. This could lead to several three and outs and hurt us getting into a rhythm. The other is the PAM QB. We had trouble with Lancaster's QB. He was quick and could throw on the run...but he was one of the fastest players we have seen all year. If PAM QB is more like Crosby's QB than Lancaster, then we will be good.
As far as athleticism goes if PAM doesn't have the edge, then these teams are even. One poster said that he saw film and LV looked slow. In 35 years of watching LV football, that is the first time I have ever heard that. It will be a very athletic and physical game on Friday. I hope whatever refs show up, they let these boys play.  
I got LV in this game because of the way both teams have played through most of the year. But I have no doubt that PAM can win this game if LV doesn't play the way we know they can.
