Looking at historical records and the records of the guy that just left, it appears that he did a bit better than anyone else and definitely stayed longer than any other head coach.Â

Harmony absolutely and unequivocally "does not have better athletes than OF".

I do agree with you on the job Jenkins did at Harmony but that doesn’t mean the new OF coach that they are hiring will not be successful. You could probably see Breaux sticking around OF longer than Jenkins. No reason to throw dirt on the grave of OF.

89Falcon got a reaction from KF89 in District Alignment Projections
I would be surprised if they go to Region 3. If they do, they are going to pull a whole new district and teams with them. I think the SETX 4A opt ups ended the chances for Carthage to come south.Â

Glad Franklin has not "evolved as a team".Â

None, OF lacks players sufficient for winning a State Championship.

None of the Champions this year run the Slot T.

89Falcon got a reaction from KF89 in Mike Trahan - NEW Buna Head Football Coach
Could go either way. Many of them have revolving doors with AD/HC combined as well. I think it is a good transition for a potential HC candidate that is currently a coordinator. They get full control of the team without having to deal with the non football issuesÂ

He pulled off one of the best coaching jobs I have ever seen in his first year at Harmony. Watched film of them early in the season that year and thought there was no chance they could even be competitive during the season. I predicted 0-10, They ended up turning it around and making a SF appearance.Â

89Falcon got a reaction from BMT Truth in Athletic Director Question
Excellent! If you have not already, add this to the program just before you send them out and tell them: "Wherever you go, do not draw any conclusions until you understand all of the factors that the AD deals with" and "Always assume that the person who is in a position of leadership and runs an athletic program for a living, likely has insight that you do not have regarding the program".Â

Some of those could have similar "home grown" talent from time to time. Carthage is now aided by a never-ending supply of "other town's best players" that move in on a yearly basis and continually elevate them above the others.

89Falcon reacted to oldschool2 in Athletic Director Question
Allowing all kids into athletics just because they want to or sign up for it is a huge mistake. There are numerous reasons for removing kids from an athletics class. Including but not limited to: A senior finished with sports, a student/athlete that doesn't play anything, behavior reasons, academic reasons, and probably many more. Â
Make it public which schools just allow any kid into athletics that want to be.. because I'm sure there are other coaches that would like to schedule them.Â

89Falcon reacted to Right99JOH in Bridge City officially opens AD/HFC/JOSH SMALLEY NAMED NEW AD/HFC
Vidor has too many Monday morning QBs or bleacher coaches that know way more than the coaches on the sidelines. Instead of getting their kids to buy in, they spend their time badmouthing the coaches... and yes, I hear this weekly at Vidor games or sitting on patios having a few cold ones with the guys.
P.S. Yes, Vidor under Mathews spent a lot of time at LH.Â

89Falcon got a reaction from 2wedge in Athletic Director Question
I realize it fully. SRs after football that are no longer playing other sports are not allowed to hang out with the kids still playing sports only to detract from their efforts. The reason that SRs are removed is because they frequently cause discipline problems for the program after they are no longer playing sports.
This is the same reason that kids not playing football are not allowed in athletics because the vast majority are only trying to not be in PE and thus work against the program. They will all say that they "are baseball" or "are powerlifting" and then when the season rolls around they never materialize, yet they consumed resources for the whole year and there is nothing that anyone can do as the year has nearly passed. They were simply dead weight to the program for the whole year.Â

89Falcon got a reaction from 2wedge in Athletic Director Question
You have never run an athletic program and there is no other way. You cannot have the entire school in a single athletic period consisting of kids who do not play sports. They will destroy the program and prevent the coaches from interacting with players who actually play on a team in addition to destroying the discipline in the program. Â
If it is not a "riddle", tell us what school you are referencing.Â

89Falcon got a reaction from 2wedge in Athletic Director Question
Not sure what school your riddle pertains to but there are "MANY" schools that do not allow students that do not play football in the athletic period. It is because there is not enough coaches to coach them all and there are always a hoard of kids that will claim they are "baseball" or "powerlifitng" or some other sport and then never make the team. Their only agenda is to "not be in PE".Â
