I'm another outsider putting an opinion on something I have nothing to do but what the heck. Central certainly has a talented team. No way should their defense give up that many points. When I saw Jag players heads down in third quarter against WOS I knew something was wrong. My impression was that they seemed to lack concentration (penalties, dropped passes) and was probably not in the best shape condition wise. Something is wrong with the program, they should be much better with the talent they have. That seems to point to coaching. Hope they can pull it together.

I think you have to say the best right now is Memorial. Is WOS CAPABLE of beating Nederland and Vidor, without a doubt. They would be competitive games that could go either way. I agree don't leave Silsbee out of the question. I also think WOS is capable of beating Memorial but it would be extremely tough and we would probably have to play a perfect game. I think we are capable of beating a 5A team but we could not live in a district of 5A teams and have the record we have.

I am very old school and would never trash talk, I don't allow my boys to trash talk. I predicted 33-0 score, not because I disrespected HF but I just didn't think they could handle WOS. I seriously doubt ANY WOS players or coaches would be saying 60-0. I wish HF the best of luck the rest of the way.

Honestly, I don't think most coaches adapt their system to the players.  Some may change certain aspect of the system such as more man coverage with a shutdown corner. I think this is where the right coach for the right situation comes into play. Teams are reflections of their coaches not the coaches of the kids. Continuity is the key for any program, it's one reason WOS has had such great success. A community blessed with speed kids need to hire a coach who KNOWS how to utilize it not someone who wants to pound the ball inside. Coaches are gonna go with what they are comfortable with. Yes, some coaching philosophies change, for example the wishbone, the veer, and now the spread. I just think that most changes (especially offensively) are geared more to the trend at the moment than changing a system for the kids. I have always heard a great coaches changes depending on what he has..I just don't think that changing offensive or defensive philosophy from year to year does anything but confuse your players.

[/quote] Most Stang fans certainly respect our opponents. Usually, it's US being disrespected until we play. I have no problem with that. You SHOULD think your team is going to win. It is a tribute to the Mustang Coaches, the players, their families, the youth league coaches, and the fans that we have had such a remarkable program. Your right we should cherish this, and put our efforts and energy into keeping the tradition going for years to come.

wow, not even ONE response from a Horn fan...great game Stangs. One at a time. Just some memories to go along with #83...the first 3 games in school history were ALL shutouts..we lost our first game 3-0, won our first home game 60-0 (BCP) and shutout Forest Park for our second victory.
