1. Just wondering (and by the way I think optimism for HF is great) why it seems (and maybe I am wrong) why HF fans are thinking playoffs seeminly based on how well they played WOS last season? After that game they still got beat by two TD's or more by BC, OF, and Silsbee. Honestly, not trying to put anyone or anyteam down, just curious.
They got thbext shot.  If they play VERY diciplined football they can beat WOS.  They will have to bend on defence and be 100% on offense, but they can beat WOS.  8)
Anything is possible..the refs could be HF parents, there could be penalties on every offensive play for WOS...we could have a flat tire on the bus and have to forfeit. All kidding aside, I think Silsbee and BC have the best chance with a huge edge to Silsbee. This is the week we open up the playbook a little offensively I figure. Think the Stangs take it, and good luck to HF in the rest of district. Of course, what do I know I thought Coldspring would kill LC-M. It's kinda hard to get a judge on the opponents WOS has played this year. Are their offenses that bad or our defense just that good? Time will tell.
I can't tell if you're putting your own defense down or not?  But, let's review:  held LC-M to ZERO (they put up a bunch of points on Silsbee and just beat, as you acknowledge above, Coldspring).  Held PN-G to 13 points (their offense isn't just chopped liver).  Held Beaumont Central to ZERO (no comment on their offense).  Held Jasper to 7 (good Lord do they have an offense or not).  You're putting me on with that "they bad/we good suff" aren't you? ???
Damn, your good!
 3. WOS Silsbee Bridge City with OF and Buna darkhorses.
 4. I had not heard that..don't know the man but I pray he gets better. Takes a special man to get into coaching.
 5. WOS- 30 HF-0...they got our attention LAST year, won't be that close again this year. I do agree with Griff, always respect the other teams. Just remember Karma. Having coached several PONY tournaments at Winnie, I must say I hope they are on the way up. Good people out there who do things the right way. Just a stat though, since 2004..Mustangs have 4 losses at home, and FOUR on the road total. Now, if we could just do better than the 10 losses at neutral sites we'd be OK. ;)
 6. Congrats to them..that is a hard thing to do. I know the current WOS sophomores both a and b teams were undefeated and unscored on in 7th and 8th, i think we lost one or two games last year after our Qb went on varsity as a freshman. So far this year we lost to Jasper. So that means ya'll one-upped us on that one. Good luck to them (except against WOS) and may they stay healthy.

 8. Way too early to talk like that. ..just look what LC-M did. If you don't come to play your gonna get beat because EVERYONE comes to play against the STANGS! I thought the line was pretty good missing an all-district performer. Do not take anyone in our district lightly. We were just a few inches from connecting on a couple big plays and at least two more TD's. At least we are protecting the football, now it's time to stop the penalties.

 10. OMG...WHO lets the Bears out! WAY TO GO BEARS!!!

They showed us a lot, but district and playoffs are more important. I'm sure that they would agree. It sucks to lose this game, but it's not the end of the world at all.
Bulldogs will be just fine. Good luck to ya'll. Way to go Mustangs, but we have to stop the penalties.
 12. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 13. the past few years I would have to say Vidor.
 14.
gunho i agree salter is just not reading the DBs he is a good runner and could make this team click if he just would run when the DB has his back to him the OC needs to sit him down in the film room.in the lc-m game he could have had over a 100 yards rushing by himself only if he could have read the DB --------------sorry for the spelling---------JMO
Just my opinion, but I honestly think we have been holding back some of our offense because our Defense is so good. It has been taking only a couple of scores then we tend to get conservative. Oddly enough it seems if we are wearing opposing defenses down with the running game, I think we will begin to open up the offense more and more. To me the problem is so far is most of our routes are just outs and outside curls. We have to go over the middle and occasionally deep to keep the defense honest and keep those linebackers out of the flats so much. I honestly think Salter takes a little too much heat from the homies, he stepped into an impossible situation and has handled it like a man. He's a better QB than a lot of people sometimes think.

 17.
thank you TXdragon you did a outstanding job
I appreciate it my friend. I did do one further piece of research..Dayton Broncos since 2004 32-8 for an .800 percentage
 18. Just for the Mustang fans. These are the home losses since 2004 according to MaxPreps: 2004 Jasper                  25-23 2007 Bay City                15-12 2010 Kirbyville                28-14 (First game after Reggie was lost) 2011 Friendswood          32-31 (In overtime if memory serves me) Combined average defeat is by 5 points. Note: No district losses at home in this time span, as Jasper was not a district game.
 19. 23. So your running back has been putting teams away, is he a senior? Well CS better have a good game on defense or it may be a long night ;)
Yes, their RB is a senior committed to Texas A & M. HE is VERY fast. If Sezar gets outside he definately can go all the way. Just don't see LC-M being competitive in this one unless CS takes them very lightly and don't show up to play. Coming off two very tough games, it is possible but not likely.
