I Predict WOS By 50
WOS to win but will fall short in football playoffs compared to how HJ will fare in district and playoff basketball.
Your already talking basketball?

If you can put any stock into a JV score..58-0 WOS, and it could have been much worse, doesn't bode well for the Hawks.
-
If you can't say anything positive about kids it shouldn't be said. I really feel the same about coaches but I understand it more because they do answer to their respective communities on their job performance.

Wish HJ best of luck after Friday night, though the Bell Curve dips some this week. -

Is WOS the best team in SETX?
WOS has a great team with their biggest strength being that fast, physical Defense. There Offense is good enough to win their district handly but when they get deeper into the playoffs they might get their offense line exposed since that is WOS biggest weakness. But back on topic, if we are truly talking bout best team in SETX then I gotta give my hat off to Humble Summer Creek. They have a massive, athletic players for a 4A school. I have seen some 5A schools not even look like them at every positon. I might have seen them play once against PNG but they could of easily put up 84 if they hadn't called the dogs off in the 3rd qtr. Rankings: 1.)Humble Summer Creek 2.)Nederland (tied) 2.)WOS(tied) 4.)Dayton 5.)Vidor
I think PAM has to be in there somewhere also. -
Blowout wins or stiff competition better preparation?
Txdragon replied to TeamJagUS's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
There is an old baseball adage that states the team with the toughest road to get there usually wins it all. I think tough schedule but not ones that you have no chance of winning, and definately 1 or 2 breather games to build confidence and perhaps recharge the batteries. -
Vidor and Ozen renew FRIENDLY rivalry.....
Love friendly rivalries. :)
Friendly rivalries are usually the ones where one team dominates the other, the REAL rivalries generally aren't friendly ones. -

Podna... ;) ;)
We won't beat you or beat you by 55? I kinda doubt the 55 spread myself, but it won't be too close this year. Not gonna predict after that.
WOS is the best 3A football team in Southeast Texas... Don't think they could beat PAM, or several of the 4A teams, such as Nederland, Vidor, Dayton, to name a few...
Disagree, we are CERTAINLY capable of beating Vidor or Nederland. Don't know much about PAM or Dayton. We beat Nederland in 2008, 2009, 2010, and lost by 1 point in 2011. -
Hawk supporters are here, just figured since y'all have it all figured out, we would just wait till the game to see for ourselves. BTW, the Boys on the team been reading the posts and hopefully will draw some inspiration from it. So......please by all means, continue. 8) “The most dangerous creation of any society is the man who has nothing to lose.†James Baldwin
If you need fan talk (not players or other team talk) to inspire you..you have a BIG problem. Every team is dangerous and has a chance of winning if certain things fall their way. Just like the lottery, it's the odds you have to overcome.

Cuz if we aren't if we are just talking QB's then i have to throw Montana Quirante in the pot.
Coldspring's QB Scott would also have to be in if we aren't simply talking passing yardage. 31 Wins 5 Losses as a starter. Finals in '10 semifinals in '11. He has an excellent arm, and great speed and quickness. Coldspring is mostly a running team, but he is a big part of their success. He doesn't have super numbers anywhere except the stat that counts - WINS.
Wins are what counts...Bart Starr never had great numbers, neither did Bob Griese..but they won. -
When they moved down to 3A many WOS fans had them winning state. Did not happen. The Stangs are good but 3A football has many good teams. You have to be good and have the breaks go your way. Good luck Stangs.
I don't think any team has EVER won state that didn't get an abundance of breaks somewhere down the road. -

Where are the Hawks supporters?

Hawks score when their receiver touches the laces on a ball that a Mustang defender has appeared to intercept in the endzone...48-6 STANGS!
-
Perhaps, a trap game after an emotional win over the Vidorians? Closer than most think probably, still have to go with Nederland 24-12. A lot of talk on speed..speed can be handled by ball control, grinding it out type of game. Bulldogs are big up front, and can control the line. Their defense is quicker than some think.
If the Coaches have not lost their team, this should be the 1st win this year, after that it will depend how hard the team wants to play for the coaches they have. The talent is certainly there, but they don't seem to have confidence in their coaches or the coaches have not earned their trust. The players on this team are down right now and you couldn't ask for a better game at this time for them to gain confidence.
Honestly, I think the coaches have lost their team. I do think Central will win at least one though..just too much talent to go o-fer.
I guess he has a deep down feeling Buna can beat Silsbee. Silsbee and WOS have 4A talent in 3A. I hope Silsbee shows every bit of that 4A talent thru the rest of the season with a very deep playoff run. Tigers blast Buna by at least 40.
I think Buna is better than 40, but maybe by 20. I agree about the talent levels.
I know these coaching are getting paid but coaching is not as easy as it looks. Lots of coaches from the stands. To be honest, the offense Buna runs gives them the best chance to win just like Orangefield. Simply because they do not have the numbers or the skill people to pass more than run. JMO of course!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I think both schools should pass more. They both need balance but the wing-T is a very deceptive offense. But again the problem is fundamentals is not being taught anymore in high school sports at all levels. ;)
I kind of agree..very little fundamental coaching occurs in High school ranks, hardly any in Junior high levels. It seems you just throw a kid out there and tell him what to do but explaining why or how to do it kinda gets lost sometimes. Now a days your expected to have been taught in peewee leagues it seems. The better programs are the ones WHO DO teach the fundamentals.
