  1. This is my official apology to Crosby Football. Early in the year I was very critical of this team, it's defense, and its QB. I have been proven wrong on most of the things I was critical of and I would like to apologize. I would also like to apply for official membership to the Cougar Bandwagon. If my application is accepted, I will vow to support Cougar football for the remainder of the season, and hopefully all the way to Arlington. That is all.

This game should set the ball rolling for the "Fire Haynes!" crowd to start getting vocal.

A guy who previously played "pulling guard" for the Hornets will be yelling, "BLOCK LINE!!!" This guy will be between 5'6" and 5'9" with Hardin trucker style hat and a Hardin Youth Football championship ring...He only voices his disgust because Haynes squandered all of the talent that he sent up the line.  You will be able to hear him over the band.

The women in the crowd will be taking turns going back and forth to the parking lot to take a few more pulls off of a menthol Newport and a swig or two from a Smirnoff they poured into a Yeti cup...all the while wondering why can't the boys be as good as the girls.  You will be able to spot them by the sequins on the butt of their jeans and Jesus inspired t-shirts.

Win or lose...It will a be a pretty good little Friday night on the visitor's side.

I don't know you sir, but bravo.

  3. Stattrax mentiones Ware and Brown and guy who are from the area. What I have noticed is that most of the sports reporters are fresh faced, straight from college guys/gals who are just biding their time to grab a better job. Sports reporters are changed out in BMT like underwear and it hardly gives any of them the time to understand the tradition and mystique of this area. Back when the main guys were from here, they understood and the coverage was amazing!

I used to rush home from my games to watch the Friday Night Tailgate Party on Channel 6.......those days are long gone.

Having said that, the set up on FSSW on Friday nights is phenomenal on a state wide level.

That is just pathetic and childish. You don't know squat about me or the subject, and you are the very definition of the problem. Keep calling me a racist and a bigot. Keep calling my whole family, relatives, and friends racists and bigots. Your ignorance is more profound every time you post. How about you start educating yourself of the effects of throwing money at a problem instead of rooting out the cause. Read a book or two on the negative effects of social justice engineering. You want to get on here and try to spout your superior intellectual capacities in a condescending manner, while totally oblivious to the fact that you know nothing. And your mind is obviously warped by the searing hatred someone instilled in you.

My friend, my opinions of you have been shaped by my interactions with you on this board. If I have missed the mark, it's because you have portrayed yourself poorly. I have read plenty of books and feel pretty confident that my intellect is something you shouldn't be questioning. There is no hate in me except the hate that burns against the ideology you portray in every one of your posts on this subject. You are the worst kind, the kind that won't even open their mind to new ideas or consider that they might be wrong. You've already made your mind up before entering into the conversation so it's worthless to continue to talk to you about the subject. All I can do is continue to pray that men like you have your eyes opened, and continue to fight injustice when I encounter it. I promise you I will not get tired of the fight.

What makes you think that a Black man has the clairvoyance to determine the difference between a White man's experiences versus a Black man's experiences, but a White man is too stupid or incapable of like analysis. And what makes you think a Black man living in Seattle has any clue as to the plight of any Black man in Georgia, or New York, or Beaumont, TX. And more importantly, what makes you feel you are qualified to discuss race relations? Did you read the daily headlines from some whack-job Liberal newspaper then think, "I believe most White people want to kill all minorities". Somebody has done a number on you, which would be embarrassing for a normal person. But yet here you are, showing your intelligence level for all the world the see. Yeah, we know who is the piece of work.

Just for clarities sake, are you contending that white people in this country have encountered racism that is comparable to the racism that the AA community has dealt with? Are you saying that AAs in Seattle don't encounter the same type of racism that exists in the south? So the black man from Seattle has no idea what "real" racism is because he's never lived in Georgia or Beaumont?

There was a time that I didn't discuss race relations. A time where I stuck my head in the sand and tried to act like everything was ok. Then I started having conversations with my AA friends and co-workers and genuinely asking them to explain their experiences and perspective. I listened to them tell stories of white dads who threatened them with guns when they came to pick up their dates. Stories of SETX dads who clearly told these guys that their daughter would never date a "ni.....". Stories of being followed around in stores and threatened in parking lots by white men who said they got too close to their white wives when walking beside them. And listen, these aren't your "crotch grabbing", "gang clothes wearing" AAs that you guys blame everything on, these men work in a professional setting and mostly have college degrees. Even with those qualifiers that you all say would "change things", they have had these experiences. I could keep going on, but with each conversation my heart broke a little more, I understood a little more, and I got angrier. That's what qualifies me to discuss racial relations. I have actually spent time with those affected and genuinely listened and considered their stories.

What qualifies you? Headlines on fox news or infowars? Maybe you could try to sit down with an AA co-worker and ask him to explain to you what it's like being a black man in America. It might blow your mind.

That line of thinking comes straight out of your fantasyland. According to you, all White people, or the majority of White people are bigots and racist and want nothing short of extermination of all minorities and Jews. Is that about right? What percentage of White people do you consider to be racist? Please give a number and reveal to those that already don't see it how warped and pathetic your line of thinking is when referring to race relations.

Here's the reality, the difference between you and I is that we have totally different definitions of racism. You want to draw a line at civil rights and say that everything prior to the movement shouldn't count anymore because "blacks" have their rights and they should just get over it. You refuse to see systematic racism and "white flight" to communities such as Lumberton, Vidor, and PNG as a peril that has kept AAs in their current social status for much longer than necessary. You refuse to see how pumping money into the west end of Beaumont and no where else has caused the other parts of the community to deteriorate while the "white" side of town has grown and flourished. You don't see those things.,,,you don't want to see those things. You just want to spout your self righteous crap and pat yourself on the back for not promoting "extermination of minorities and Jews" and use that as proof that you are not racist. I'd implore you to consider being a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.

And the crown is safely ensconced. As usual you have no idea about the topic at hand and just blurt out nonsense. At least you tried...right. Too bad that is just an example of your best.

And you know what else, you've got some kind of balls to tell a black man that he doesn't have any idea about the topic of racism. Good Lord you people are a piece of work.

Thank you. It was such a race hatred rant I didn't know where to begin. Then I had the "bet you wouldn't say that in a crowd of blacks" threat. What does that tell me about blacks? One would think we could use this board to air  our differences, which was my attempt, but when my scenario gets absolutely no justifiable answer, we see what actually comes out.

I thought it was very courageous of me to sit at that special table and say what I did. No one went off on me at all. Some even laughed. Guess it depends on the class of the person, which is by what we should all be judged.

I have said this before, I know a black man who has an 18" cross tattooed in the middle of his back in rememberance if my deceased son. He has stayed at my house and is welcome anytime. My son and he were best friends. He is unlike the blacks on this board with their race cards and the chip on their shoulder. How can race relations improve when they can't be discussed? I try to be real. I am"cloaking" nothing.

Did I say that you wouldn't say that in front of a crowd of blacks? No....I said you wouldn't say it in a public place. I know it's hard for you to believe, but you and your buddies racist rhetoric is abhorred by lots of white people too. And a lot of us white people who are tired of this narrative, are also tired of being quiet about it. Tired of hearing it and willing to fight right beside our brothers and sisters of color to ensure that it stops, or at the least the light is shone on those who refuse to progress.

Oh, and lots of racists have black friends who are welcome in their homes. That doesn't excuse the things you say. Have you ever called him a "black" to his face......bet you haven't.

What is s race baiter? I am constantly reminded of how whites interacted with blacks 150 years ago and am supposedly made to feel guilty about it. Guess what? I feel no guilt at all. Now, I bring up a situation in recent history of how blacks interact with whites and you take your ball and go home while calling me a baiter. See how stupid and insensitive that is?

I'll jump back in here, even though  I should pay attention to my better judgment and move along.

You stated that "blacks do not want to move in, they want to take over". First off, calling them "blacks" is ignorant and highlights everything that is wrong with your way of thinking. Secondly, who exactly is it that these "blacks" want to take over? In your mind, it's not just that an African American family may move into Lumberton, it's that "blacks" want to "take over". You do this constantly on this site. You build arguments to try and make everyone believe that racism is a thing of the past and that minorities aren't treated any more unfairly than anyone else in the world, when in reality everyone knows that is not true. You and your buddies talk about "gang clothing" and "crotch grabbing" and say that culture is not an excuse, all the while expecting to be accepted in northern states for saying the words "y'all" and wearing cowboy hats. Are "y'all" and cowboys hats not cultural things? Were we not taught that by our fathers and our grandfathers? So why wouldn't clothing, speech, and posture also be cultural issues in the African American community? You won't consider that because it doesn't fit the narrative and allows you to sit back and leave things like they are. If you actually thought some of this through, you might have to consider that African Americans weren't trying to "take over" (I can only assume you mean taking over your all white neighborhood), but rather trying to live in nicer neighborhoods, flee higher crime rates, and enroll their kids in better schools. The problem is, they aren't afforded these luxuries because men like you aren't going to allow AAs to "take over". That, sir is racism and it's rampant on this board and drips off of the words each of  you speak (type). The vast majority of you all wouldn't repeat half of what you type here in a public place. You wouldn't sit down to dinner and discuss these topics with me in open forum because the next table over might hear you talking about "blacks taking over". You post here because this board cloaks your shame and allows you to be exactly who you want to be.

You guys have me answering all these questions, I have one for you all:  What if your daughter brought home a non "gang clothes wearing", non "crotch grabbing", African American boy one day after school? How would you react to that?

  10. 13 hours ago, baddog said:

Blacks act like they want to "move in" and be your neighbor, but really you want to take over. Don't lie. At work, in the lunchroom, I went and sat at the " black" table. Imagine that. I was asked what I was doing. I said integrating.

Not even sure what to say to this statement. Illustrates my point and is a great exit point for me. Enjoy your cesspool of race baiting and vitriol gentlemen. I will no longer allow myself to be a part of it.

You made the point that White woman are scared of skin color. I illustrated your flawed thinking by showing White woman are scared of the clothing, not the skin color. I'm sorry if you can't understand it. It's not that you can't, it's that you refuse...because it is not congruent with your "neanderthal way of thinking". The way Liberals can perform mental gymnastics to enable them to hold onto spoon fed Liberal "logic" is sometimes indescribable. And the frightening thing is you hold an omniscient attitude when spouting your spoon-fed flawed message.

And no, White people were not forced to pass Civil Rights legislation. Anyone that looks at stats can determine that in a matter of seconds...unless you worship at the feet of the Liberal gods.

Says the guy who probably has his radio locked in on 740 and goes to sleep after watching Carlson and Hannity. I worship at the feet of one God who is clear about his stance on racial equality. He doesn't care who wears what.

Sorry 2wedge but the emboldened is nothing more than your opinion and supposition of whats in the mind and hearts of others.  By the way, based upon your subsequent comments, it would appear that substantial progress has been made on the civil rights front.  But, let me guess, you are one of those who believes the only real way to settle all of this is through 'reparations', right?

No, I actually find reparations insulting. As if someone's dignity has a dollar amount assigned to it.

The man literally said that if they were wearing "gang clothing" he would be scared. I don't have to suppose what's going on in his mind to know what he is thinking. He has told us. You, and those of your ilk, are so blinded by your narrative that you cannot bring yourself to consider what it's like to be told that your clothes make you scary.

Everyone can agree that we have made "substantial progress" on the civil rights front, but let's not act like the bar was set very high. Simple human rights were being denied to AAs before the civil right's movement. Allowing someone of a different color to sit next to you in a restaurant is not something to pat yourself on the back about. Try untying some of the cultural barriers that rich white people have fought for years to keep into place before you talk to me about civil rights progress.

Hell, try moving some black families into Lumberton first. Then I'll talk with you.

I offered no rebuttal because you ran like a frightened schoolgirl the last time you were challenged to defend your statements. But if you would like a quick analysis of your flawed logic, I will be happy to oblige.

You start off with a blanket irrational negative stereotype that you have zero supporting evidence. It's hard to take anything you say seriously after that gem. You then try to support that false narrative with flawed analysis. You said that "Hence why a white man walking by your wife in Parkdale Mall parking lot at night doesn't elicit much of a response from her, but a black man walking by at the same time will cause her to tense up and ensure she has her gun in her purse." You must have been fed that crap by the Liberal media. If a Black man is walking by me in Parkdale Mall, I might tense up a little...if he is dressed out in gang clothing. If he is dressed in a 3 piece suit I wouldn't think twice about it. If a White man walks by in gang clothing, I would tense up a little. If he is dressed in a 3 piece suit I wouldn't think twice about it. But you have to interpret that as racism/bigotry. You seem to have an irrational fear of Wlhite people having an irrational fear of Black people...these same White people that passed and support Civil Rights legislation, passed and support Affirmative Action and countless other minority targeted agendas, the same White people that passed and support trillions of dollars targeted to minorities. Who do you think the irrational one is in this all too real scenario?

Dressed out in gang clothing? Translation:  It's your fault that people view you as a criminal because of how you are dressed. Dress better boy!

And are you really going to beat the drum for "white people who passed civil rights legislation" and act like their hand wasn't forced by the bravery of so many African Americans who fought for their own civil rights? You are definitely a piece of work. Those same white people who were so kind as to allow the negros to drink from their whitey water fountains were the same ones who held office when they had to get their food from the back door of restaurants! Give me a break.

I have asked this so many many times and the refusal to answer tells me everything I need to know.   You portray this country as having a systemic problem with cops killing innocent unarmed black men.  Please tell me what percentage of the fatal shootings in this country is represented by innocent unarmed black men.!!!

This is the hidden content, please

This is the hidden content, please

This is so you will stop asking the question, not because I think it will make you stop being ignorant.

  15. 1 hour ago, Englebert said:

I think you just unknowingly illustrated the problem by exposing your flawed rationale, and you attributed the "Neanderthal way of thinking" to the wrong party.

No knowingly illustrated the problem with my explanation of why cops are killing black men. You offer no rebuttal, but have no issue dismissing the statement.

  16. 41 minutes ago, Tigers2010 said:

Martin was not killed fleeing from a cop? He was also not killed by a Caucasian.  The cop who shot Castille is not a Caucasian. I am not saying that there is not a problem. To flat out say WHITE cops are killing black men, is inaccurate and just spread that poison of racism.

Oh ok. So you agree that cops are killing black men, just want everyone to make sure we knows it's not JUST white cops killing black men. Noted.

Problem still exists....cops are killing black men without justification.

  17. 5 hours ago, stevenash said:

Are you another one of those who is promoting the idea that police are stalking unarmed black men and killing them at an alarming rate?  I think the number of killings of unarmed and innocent black men by police is extremely small.    Do please show me the error in my thinking.

The error is that a lot of white people are predisposed to fear black men due to the racial narratives that have been fed to them by their parents, grandparents, and the culture of our country since it was established. Black men have been painted as criminals, thugs, thieves, and mostly trouble, and white people in general still view them as such. Hence why a white man walking by your wife in Parkdale Mall parking lot at night doesn't elicit much of a response from her, but a black man walking by at the same time will cause her to tense up and ensure she has her gun in her purse. You can argue this point all day long, but everyone knows what I have just described is the reality.

The reason why white cops kill black men for no reason is this very fear that I am describing. White cops pull black men over and immediately have their senses heightened and prepare for the worst. Black men run from the cops are are shot in the back (happened just a day or so ago) because the white cops are so fearful that they feel justified in killing a man for fleeing arrest. Happened to Alton Sterling, Phillando Castille, Trayvon Martin, and just happened to Patrick Harmon a few hours ago. If you cannot see the atrocity, I cannot continue to engage your Neanderthal way of thinking.

Before you ask, I am white, I am southern, I am not a liberal, and I still feel like African Americans are unjustly murdered by police officers. Do us all a favor, try to be a part of the solution instead of helping Trump exacerbate the problem.
