Nope, never coached at Hunington, coached against them, and the reason they leave for greener pasture is that the admin and the community put them in a bind. The reason they run the coaches off is the coach is a threat to those who have power and people will do a lot of back stabbing in order to keep their power.

Oh lord have mercy. This is ridiculous. Then why don't they just quit playing football?

This almost seems like a bait question from you.  Good gravy, this is the Coach's second year and has started the season with HUGE injuries to key players.  Yes, a coach must win, but I also believe that most, not all, but most Eagle fans understand there are simply things out of the control of the HC.  I don't think14 games in a coaching career at a new school is enough to start planting seeds of doubt...c'mon 2wedge, man....

I am baiting because I remember how you guys ran Don Price out of town several years ago after he had proven to be successful and win plenty of games. Please see the comment I quote below that illustrates my point.

Well....I think he can coach a varsity football team.  I am a big fan of what I have seen as far as the athletic department.  But...this is a different path.  TW was an offensive coordinator/assistant coach for some years at Allen until he was promoted to HC in 2004.  He was working under his mentor and then took over a position he was groomed to lead.  And he had tremendous success.  That isn't what he is doing at BH.  He is stepping into the shoes of somebody else that he probably has no connection with. (I have no idea).  This is a different process.  And at this price point, do you think there is enough patience to allow TW to figure it out?

If BH goes 2-7 this year (a real possibility) and then 4- 6 next year (not likely) then the shine will have worn off.  Pressure may mount to see somebody else come in.

Barbers Hill checks the boxes for resources and facilities.  No expense has been spared for the AD/Head Coach.  A professional coach is in the business of winning.  TW earned a spot at this high paying table with his past history of success.  He can't eat there forever without picking up the bill with W's.  No coach can.

Every team has bad breaks.  Every team has injuries, blind refs, rainstorms, broken buses, and The Flash just enrolled at your crosstown rival.  The Head Coaches employment status will be by Wins and Losses.

I am a wuss, I love a good turnaround story.  The more success he has then the more great experiences and life lessons those kids have.  I wish them all Good Luck and God Bless.

Who in the world does this person think BH is going to hire who will "pick up the bill with W's"? From where will you lure a bigger fish than TW to come to BH and take advantage of the "resources and facilities"? You plucked a multi time 6A state championship winning coach from the largest school in the state and you guys still think there is a bigger fish that you can lure to MONT BELVIEU???? It's ridiculous.

To say that the previous 30 head coaches did not invest is being a wee-bit blind.

Man, someone must've coached at Huntington before moving on to his JV gig.

All that aside, If the community doesn't care about football, then why would they care enough to run coaches out of town? These guys are taking this job and leaving at the first sign of greener pastures and in doing so they are crippling any chance Huntington has to every build a program. It will take someone who actually wants to be there to turn the thing around.

Keep in mind in 2014 when the Mustangs lost to gilmer in the SC, they returned 2 starters that next year, and people counted them out. Don't be surprised for a 20+ point victory. I do think Silsbee will score a few times maybe 2-3 but i see us scoring in the 40s. Expect to see our starters play the full game and a big game from our secondary.

No one can argue with the track record of reloading at WOS, but it's hard for me to expect it simply based on history. I hope you are right because I love celebrating with the Mustangs in Arlington!!

It starts and ends with the parents. Take Ag and FFA  and roping and rodeo away and you will see changes. Nothing will change until then.

Brother, those are thriving programs at every small school in Texas. FFA and rodeo aren't the issues in Huntington, otherwise lots of schools would be in trouble. The issue is the Jimmys and Joes. There simply aren't any players there and there aren't any players there because no one has ever stayed around there long enough to build a program. It will never get better until a coach invests.

WOS by as much as they want, should be ugly by halftime

I'm not sure about that. This WOS team hasn't been tested yet and we would be crazy to think that they can just lose the level of players they lost last year and not miss a beat. I think it's closer than expected.....I'll go WOS 24 Silsbee 21

I doubt they cancel football. BISD will bring people in and have that school up and going in no time.

The type of remediation they are looking at would take months to complete. If it even takes one month, doesn't that wipe out the season for the jaguars? Can Central HS be blended between WB and Ozen and still be able to compete for Central? Lots of questions.
