I think you may have smashed the nail on the head.  Some theories are they hope he doesn't get confirmed.  Because as Rebgp pointed out, he may look like a neoconservative compared to who Hillary would appoint.  I share that opinion.

This is where you get ridicule.
1. WH had 40 kids last year? and a JV?  I think you may want to fact check.
2.  HD, WH, and Colmesneil will barely have 50 kids combined this season playing football...again you are not realizing how numbers, school enrollment, and participation coincide together.
3.  You were undefeated out of the worst schools in all of the state in that classification...and lost to Alto.  3 points or 30 doesn't matter.  They lost to a team that didn't even get out of the region either year.

That's what any good Democrat would do. Supposed to take from those who Have and give to the Have Nots. 

Just a wild guess but I think bamatex is releasing the same frustration that most Republicans have.  While the Democrats lock step to whatever the party comes up with, the Repubs run the gauntlet of liberal Trump/Christie to conservatives Rubio/Cruz.  And the fact that Obama won a second term was like putting Tabasco in our eyes.  I know I'm frustrated!  And the fact that Hillary is favored to win in Nov is like throwing gasoline on a fire.  United we stand = Dems.  Divided we fall = Repubs.  

Bush 1 lost after not acting like Reagan.  Eisenhower was a war hero.  Nixon, well, we know how that turned out.  2nd Bush, well, barely won, but did.  Didn't do much for controlling the size of government.  Putting up candidates just to put them up thinking they could win, well if they do, then what have you accomplished?  Heck, Nixon gave us the EPA. 
It was really sad when the establishment's choice, Romney, couldn't even beat the worst President in history.  Again, not sure what's accomplished when/if they win.

So the talk is that some Legacy players are going to Silsbee & a few HJ players going to Kelly?

 

its no coincidence that the 2 teams playing in the state champ game were a combined 29-2(Canadian 16-0 and Muenster 13-2)this past football season. Football makes you better in all sports....bottom line

Its tournament play. Games mean very little. Just because they physically can go 7, does not mean they need to. Over the course of a season, you can tell the players who have been pitched way too much, they get "dead arm" and drop 4-5 mph. 

Ms. Davis, just curious but what is the next step for Jaylan. Will he be heading back this way to go to school or probably stay out west?

Buna has a tough hill to climb tonight against EC. I will say this though, that coach over their in Buna has done a nice job of making that program relevant again. 
In my opinion, EC is just too much for Buna. EC wins a very competitive game, pulling away in the final 4 minutes. EC by 12.

Going off what teams have coming back and what I saw from the previous season, my feeble mind predicts the following going into Week 11:
Vidor (2-5) vs PA Memorial (7-0): PAM plays their Freshman 2nd string while resting their bellcows heading into the playoffs. Vidor laments the day that Port Arthur dropped to 5A.
Port Neches-Groves (6-1) vs Nederland (6-1): Both w/ Losses to PAM, battle for 2nd in District. Larry and BF secretly agree to play the 2s in the second half to see what they have coming "next season" so the old timers can drink coffee and debate games from the 1950s about which school is better. A mysterious 8th grade kicker puts it though the uprights for the win. Venues, dates and times for playoff opponents were made well in advance of Mid County Madness. 
Lee (1-6) vs Central (4-3): Central gets into the playoffs with a 5th win, Foreman waves his towel around getting the Jaguar faithful pumped for a Bi-District game at the Butch. 
Livingston (0-7) vs Ozen (3-4): Ozen finishes district play @ 4-4 and misses the playoffs due to losses at the hands of PAM, PNG, Nederland and Central. They can care less because it's basketball season, and Livingston's punishment for submitting false numbers is finally at a close.
Lumberton (3-5) Bye: Coach knows how to roll out the balls for basketball tryouts.

OK to address this issue...There are certain people on this board that hide behind screen names and critique these coaches and call them over-rated and such, but let me say this, I think that's terrible. Andre Boutte, Todd Sutherland, James Gamble, Fred Williams have ALL experienced first round playoff losses at some point in their career...It happens..NO ONE that knows ANYTHING about basketball can say with a clear conscience that Brian English has not done a terrific job of turning that Nederland program around. They were a JOKE before he arrived, and that team was in the REGIONAL tournament a couple of years ago. I really hate when individuals get on here with agendas...Again guys who hide behind screen names, and TRY to critique in order to elevate themselves is just a pitiful shame. I just give credit where its due.  The guy has shown time and time again how good he is as a coach, but certain people cant ever get past themselves in order to recognize others...I wish EVERY poster's real name, resume and credentials could show up on here, so that the cowards would just back away....Just my two cents....

A coach is never going to please every parent.  Impossible task, and one he should not even attempt.  I am sure there are plenty of schools that would trade their current coach for Nederland's.  Look on the bright side.  Ned has a very good basketball program, something that has been lacking in previous regimes.  Count your blessings that your son played on a good team & for a good coach.
