You might want to check the history books. Hebert was a powerhouse! And French tied Permian for the state title in 84 before they merged? I know about Hebert and French. I was talking about after they merged...which is what this thread is about....merging and making one super school. Except for Westbrook's win in '82, Bmt. schools haven't done that well going from 6 schools to 2. It was supposed to produce "super" schools, and it didn't IMO. Neither did PA.

Before Ozen, Beaumont eventually combined 6 high schools into 2. Beaumont High and Charlton Pollard became BCP, Forest Park, Hebert, and South Park became Westbrook. French High finally merged with BCP and became Central. Forming one "Super School" is not always a recipe for winning. Beaumont schools didn't fare well until Westbrook won state in '82, I think. Look at Memorial. One would think they would be very strong, but they are struggling. One thing always stand out, you need a great coach.....period. BMTsoulja could probably elaborate on Beaumont schools better than me.

Watson misses wide left in the tall rough, flubs the shot, still in the rough, and lays up down the fairway. Watson on the green in 4, Cink on in 2 with a chance for eagle. Watson will be lucky to save par with a 35-40 footer.

I agree..

Cink lags to within 3 feet. Watson makes his par after that fine pitch and run shot to within 8 feet. Cink still one up going to the 17th, which is an eagle hole par 5.

6th hole....227 yard par 3....Watson wide right with a tough pitch shot....Cink on the green within 25 feet for birdie.

Cink hits a magnificent bunker shot to within 6 feet and pars. Watson hits a poor bunker shot and two putts for bogey. Cink one up....on to the 6th hole

Hole 5...both players find greenside bunkers with their 2nd shots.

Correction....4 hole playoff is 5,6,17,18....starting now.

Watson slightly flew the green on 18 needing par to win. Stewart Cink was one behind and finished. Watson putted from off the green and left an 8-9 footer for par. He missed badly and made bogey to tie Cink at -2. Playoff is 8,9,17,18...I believe is what they said.

what? he missed his fifth cut in his entire professional career? he MUST not be that good. of course, jack missed 88, but i'm sure a lot of those were when he was getting old. In majors only, Jack missed 33 cuts, most of them (22) in the '90s and '00s....so you are right. Why so defensive? 59 year old Watson playing like he is 30.......putting for eagles!!!! I think the conditions of any course affect all golfers the same. It doesn't matter if you just left Pebble Beach to play Turnberry, everything is even. Pay more attention to your practice rounds. You're right...Tiger is human after all. ;D I agree with Lazeek, this is one for the books if Tom hangs on.
