Brook v#11 Lufkin scrimmage..46-0 Lufkin
baddog replied to westend1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
How can MHS win a Beaumont Bowl? soulja, thanks for listing the date. I wondered how Central and Ozen would both play at The Babe. -
I take it this would mean you consider yourself the expert? It's all fun, don't get serious about stupid football picks.

Should players were numbers during scrimmage?

He wants to know your thoughts on the subject of this thread... smitty, you could be here (hear) a long time if you pick at misspelled or misused words....especially there, their, and they're....how about loss and loose. Back on topic: I don't thnk it makes much difference if numbers are worn. -

PAM needs a Head Coach, not a Head Cheerleader......
baddog replied to SFA85's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I don't think predicting North Shore stomping a mudhole in your arse is a fair measuring stick for PAM. North Shore does that to everybody. Always calling for someone's head on a platter. This was a freakin scrimmage. This is where you see your weaknesses and try to improve, see your positives and improve on that too. The secondary can be helped tremendously by a pass rush. I didn't hear your thoughts on that. Sounds to me as if they can run the ball effectively. Is that not good either? Give them a chance. Can you do better, or are you strictly armchair quality? I'm not a PAM fan and couldn't care less if they win a game. I just can't handle people who always voice their negative opinions and denounce coaches by name....especially after one freakin scrimmage. This post is directed at 85. -
Nope.

I watched the interview with Tiger today and he spoke the truth. Tiger hit the ball well, his putter failed him. Even though his putts were close at times, those usually drop for Tiger. The misreads...well, those greens were tough but everybody has to deal with them. I thought it peculiar that a par 3 was third toughest on the course. Was it the 240 yardage or the craftiness of the green?

I have to admit I was dead wrong. I can eat crow. What a tournament by Yang and great for the world of golf!!!!! You bet it's great for golf. Yang just showed that Tiger can be matched shot for shot and beaten. Yang didn't even play center of the green. He went at the flag with a one shot lead. Gotta love how he didn't cave in and kept his cool.....and a birdie on 18 to accentuate it.
-
Yang has the cold kahunas!!!!
-
What is 18....a par four birdie hole? yang could have closed it out on 17. You can't keep giving Tiger a chance to make birdie because he will.
-
Finally, someone in the final pairing with Tiger on Sunday who doesn't collapse. That's all I ever asked. It's not over though, but at least Tiger will have to dig down and overcome Yang, who is obviously not intimidated by Tiger. It's what makes any sport great.

Now that I will never believe!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't expect you to!!!!!! ;D Cable channel 865 HD is on which is KFDM's HD channel.

I'll leave with this. Tiger has it, Jack had it, and I truly think more of Jack's realm of players had it....killer instincts. These guys today play well enough, they just seem to fold more under pressure. Of course Jack won that way too, I never said he didn't. It's hard for me to understand why ''mister perfect swing" Ernie Els doesn't win more. I think he lacks that killer instinct. I could be dead wrong, just the way I see it. I'd love to se Yang win today. Not because I don't like Tiger, I do, but just because it's good for golf. Tiger will get his.
-
This is a no win situation. I give up.
-
No use arguing. You only see it one way, but that's exactly what this means!!!!!! 59 year old Tom Watson almost won the British Open. Can you imagine where he would be right now in his prime??? Jack's challengers stayed on top or made charges of their own. Watch the missed shots and over par shooting tomorrow. Vijay missed some great opportunities today or he would have the lead. I actually hope I'm wrong!!!! It would be better for the game of golf!!!!!!!!!! You say I only see it one way as if you are any different. I guess Tiger needs to lose in order for the challengers to be better!!! Maybe once he starts losing you will give him credit. Now that is laughable!!!! No, I need to see them NOT fall apart. Nobody makes runs at Tiger. Now that's laughable. Maybe Yang will hang in there. We shall see.

BC Regional Waco updates here

I have a DVR. That's two calls missed at first base. The runner was safe on that double play. Go BC! -
Glad you love it JB. I love it to. Again never did I say the other guys were hindered because of technology. I simply stated that the Fred Funks of the world benefit much more from the technology than the Tiger Woods of the world. Good news is you have an opinion and so do I and they both are very valid. You get offended easily and I am sorry about that. Hope to see you on the course one day! Offended.....me?? You haven't offended me in the least. Who is JB?
-
Simply amazing....guys who hit 270 off the tee are helped with today's technological advances, but the guys who already hit 300 off the tee are hindered by the guys who can now catch up with them? That makes absolutely no sense to me. The technology also help the guy who can hit with a pine tree. Putting on slowers greens only helps with the speed, not the actual read of the contours. Man, this stupid topic sure is getting some responses. I love it!
-
spinks, your second paragraph shows that this topic is not stupid afterall. I happen to agree with everything you said except that the technology only helps those who cannot hit as far as the great ones. Even though Tiger may use the same irons, anyone hitting their drives 20 yards farther has to help tremendously.....especially on the shorter par 4 holes. Even though Tiger can stick a green with a 5 iron, you can't tell me that it isn't easier for him to back off a couple clubs to a 7 or 8 and it make the shot. Same goes for Jack. These guys are eagling 500 and 600 yard par 5s with putts, not chip shots. This is where tournaments are won anyway....putting, and Jack was one of the best (save Crenshaw), so I would have liked to see him get a chance to putt for eagles instead of having to chip. It would have made a world of difference IMO!
-
Funnny how you assume that I wouldn't know all the players would be equipped the same. If the debate is stupid, why participate? It's not any more stupid than bragging about the Mario Williams pick and calling someone out. Since Jack is the best (one of the longest drivers and accurate with greens hit), wouldn't it be more to his advantage to have a Bertha for drives and a PW he could stop on a dime, or draw back towards the hole. Give jack 10-15 more yards on his drive, instead of playing center of the green, he can now go at the flag. It just seems logical to me. Kinda like giving a corked bat to Hank Aaron. Everyone would hit more HRs, but Aaron would hit even more, maybe even widen the gap.
-
That's not what I'm getting at. Put today's technological golf equipment in Jack's hands in his prime, and I wonder how many other tournaments he might have won. Impossible to say, but interesting to think about. I also never saw Jack throw a club. Now Craig Stadler, that's another story.
-
Tiger is Tiger....but how about that TRIPLE BOGEY with two holes to play. : Tiger will surpass Jack, no doubt, but I wonder how Jack could have really dominated had he played with graphite shaft clubs, Big Berthas, and Ping clubs with the U groove that was banned on tour for some time. Even the balls nowadays are "hotter". Jack had to get backspin with a club surface about the same as 80 grit emery cloth. Yeah, I know, I'm gonna catch a lot of flack from all you Tiger lovers, but try just for once to see it from my point of view. This is what makes it so difficult to compare players that are generations apart. Technology has shortened a lot of holes. 600+yard par fives reached in two. 300 yard drives with 3-woods.....

Three Coaches from Morton Ranch under investigation

Of course it is. Just that when you do get caught, you look like a putz.
