​If that statement is true then he would have been playing on varsity and not essentially 4th in line.  Manny is/was Cotton's back up.  Really an uphill battle to buy into that opinion, unless you saw a different season than I saw.

According to the article it would've been a little more than 8 minutes in the 4th left when Dayton scored the first time in the 4th.

For those who would like a more accurate depiction of THSF, The Old Coach puts out a magazine called "FNF"(Friday Night Football) that ONLY covers Texas High Schools. DC's is the proverbial Bible but "FNF" has really surpassed it in terms of high school coverage. Patrick Hudson is actually one of the kids on the cover this year also. I think their magazine is available July 7th.   

​I think Ned is going to have a rough first outing next year. It was pretty much all of our skill guys' first year starting, now we get all of those guys back except our two inside receivers. If Cotton picks up where he left off in the playoffs last year it should be ugly for a lot of teams this year though. Crosby may not hold teams to 19.5 ppg like they did for the 15 games they played last year but they should be close to averaging 50 ppg on the offensive side of the ball. Crosby just has Neumann's number.

The proposed split of 5A like 4A and below was voted down by the supts. I'm pretty sure this will eventually happen though, just not for the next re-alignment.

I think we can agree that no matter how much how much UCLA wins that they'll never be USC. USC was down for a long while but soon as they won a couple of games they dominated California once again.
Michigan is down right now while Michigan St. is killing it. No matter how long that happens or how much they can beat Michigan though, they'll never be as good as Michigan can be at their best.
Miss St. could never be Ole Miss at their best. Same goes for Georgia and Georgia Tech. Auburn and Alabama. Oregon St. and Oregon. Oklahoma and Oklahoma St.
No matter how good A&M gets, they'll never be as good as Texas can be when they're rolling. Some things are just inherent.

There are plenty of Ags who know what it's like to win big.  It's just most of them are 6 feet in the ground now...

​No kidding.  You make as much money from obsessed Ags like PM19 who can't help themselves to see what Daddy is doing.  Of course, you could also start a "sunshine pumping" site for aggy fans.  Those chumps have been buying this stuff their entire lives with no championships to show for it.  Suckers...

​No, quality players don't only come to play for Sumlin. The tackle A&M just signed from Buda Hayes would have come anyway, when he said "they have horses close by the stadium" it lets you know A&M was probably the leader all along. Before Sumlin got to A&M find one recruit other than Joekel and Matthews boys(maybes) that had offers from Texas when they signed with A&M. Charlie had to clean up the entitlements which is why kids were dismissed which no doubt affected the initial product, Sumlin won the first year with Sherman's players then subsequently digressed when he recruited his own even though they were rated much higher. Manziel, Evans, Moore, Miller, etc. never got Texas offers or they wouldn't have chosen Ag at that time. Same goes for Reggie McNeal. Ask Penn State how recruiting with James Franklin is going vs how it did with Bill O'Brian who did a good enough job there to get an NFL gig? So yes, we'll just have to disagree on that.  
A&M better hope their qb situation works out this year or they'll be lucky to match their win total from last year while Texas is probably a 10 win season away from totally dominating the state in recruiting once again. Texas fans understand it takes more than highly ranked recruiting classes to win big, not sure Ag gets that yet.
 

​If they want to play against the best in the SEC then why don't Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Vandy recruit at a high level? Why can Louisville out recruit Kentucky on a regular basis? Find the article where Clarence McKinney talks about why Sumlin connects with the urban kids and you'll see it has very little to do with the SEC. Kids want to play on the big stage but they also don't want to lose 59-0. Eventually they just go join  the best instead of getting beat down by them. As the nostalgia wears off A&M will slowly regress back to the mean, they're basically already there now. Trust me when I say that probably less than 10% of the kids A&M signs actually saw them play a game on TV growing up against someone other than Texas. On the other hand 90% can tell you about memories they have of watching Texas on TV. If Texas and A&M end up with the same record again you'll see Texas finish with a better class again. You can hang on to the SEC coat tail all you want but that's just more for us to point and laugh at also.

​Shawn Robinson is a 2017 commit. TCU has the #5 2017 class so far. Ag's problem is that kid realize they have to live in College Station once they enroll. I said it once before and it wasn't popular but the majority of the reason A&M recruits the way they do is because of Sumlin. If he wasn't there you would never get the urban kids to commit at the rate they do. Very few kids with real options from those places chose A&M before and if Sumlin leaves they'll stop again. Another mediocre season at A&M and I think Sumlin bolts for the NFL while he still can. I doubt A&M can ever consistently challenge at the top of the SEC like some Ag fans think.

Are we being left behind? McKinney ISD to build another $60 million stadium in the DFW. Throw in the 12,000+ seat domed stadium Frisco ISD/Dallas Cowboys are building and you see why the current state of THSF is the way it is.

​I think the line is already drawn through A&M. It's probably really down to UT and OU. I think Arkansas is a perfect for what Whaley does well, he has more raw ability than I saw out of Williams when he was at Allen for sure. Arky is probably the school recruiting him the hardest too due to need.
At the beginning of the process I think he was an Aggie lean but I think he sees that even though they have a solid 0-line A&M's system isn't really conducive to feature backs. Oddly enough it's probably the school he could start at as a true freshman though, depending on how Ford looks. While I believe he's going to OU or Texas, they're the two schools on his list that have young back he would have to wait behind.

​You're always going to play at least two backs though. If you're an LSU fan you know next year Fournette is supposed to be the man, he'll still probably only get 60% of the carries if he can stay healthy though. Meaning that as much as LSU runs the ball there's still probably 300 carries left to go around. Chubb is the only proven back at Georgia right now and if nobody emerges this year Whaley could play there early behind him, plus Chubb is probably going to leave after his junior year.
Texas and OU already have back that do exactly what Whaley does, and do it better which is why he would wait at those places. Tristan Houston, Duke Catalon, and Chris Warren will all be freshmen at Texas next year while Donta Foreman will just be a sophomore. OU has Samaje Perine who rushed for over 1700 yards as a true freshman, but I still don't think he's better than Joe Mixon who will be a freshman next year and is listed as Perine's backup on the two-deep. Add to that mix Katy's Rodney Anderson who is coming off three consecutive title game appearances and a nearly 7000 yards prep career and you have another log jam at running back. I would say Whaley could beat all these guys out but his film says otherwise.

​Exactly, which is why I don't really have a high running back grade on him. He's very ineffective once the edge is taken away from him, that's why I responded to Soulja's post the way I did.
