Can't vote him as a finalist if he's not on the initial ballot lol
Oh wow that's crazy! Are you only allowed one player on each side of the ball? I can't remember lol

No Tamauzia Brown on the defensive side? Didn't he lead the state in interceptions or something?

Does that mean since America elected Obama, we can’t be considered a racist place anymore?
DeSoto had two white head coaches prior to Claude Mathis. I couldn’t find pictures of coaches before that. So since they’ve had more than one white head coach in the long history of the program, I’m going to say that you did not give an apt comparison. Besides, you know the answer to your question anyways.
IF you’re going to say DeSoto is racist/reverse racist, you’re gonna need some pretty concrete evidence. Now, does it make sense that they’re letting go of Peterman after what he’s done? I don’t think so. But I don’t know everything that went on behind the scenes there. And neither do you. So to call the community racist doesn’t hold water.

I think it will be a powerhouse. They will have a lot of competition from the Houston-area. But they have too much talent. Question is, who will coach them? Despite BISD's reputation, I'd imagine this will be a highly sought after position.

Let a black coach win state at Orangefield, BC, or Lumberton, etc, then try to get rid of him the very next year. It would be on CNN 24/7 and thousands would be marching in the streets.
So not only were there black folks that were defending Peterman for the job. Hm. If you're going to call the people of DeSoto racist or reverse racist or whatever it is you want to call them, at least have more than a feeling.
And DeSoto actually hired that man to coach them. What happened afterward, I don't know. Let a black coach win state at Orangefield, BC or Lumberton? When are they going to get hired at one of those schools?

"Racists", lol. Anyways let me move far away from that.
Are there any SETX coaches that would apply for either of those positions?

Sure fooled me

Brock/Newton would be a hell of a game. I feel like they'd have to play neutral site though.

You're lucky man, you got four team state titles in one calendar year. All the time I was there I saw 4-5 championship game appearances and no wins.

How can you know how many games you will be needing* before they release the districts? I can see weeks 1 and 3 but couldn’t week 5 end up being a district game?
Probably easier to have too many games and need to back out of one than to not have enough games and wind up scrambling late to find one

How does this Carthage team compare to the one that WO-S played in 2013?

No...similar statements were made regarding Carthage having never seen speed like what Silsbee had.
While that may be true...it didn’t matter. And it won’t matter this time either. Newton’s only shot will be playing mistake free. Speed alone will not win it this time.
Not only did Newton not play mistake free, but if they did play mistake free, they probably would have put a running clock on Gunter.

I cant even lie, this made me cry. Reading the story earlier this week and having been up to Newton numerous times, dealing with Coach Johnston, the players and other coaches, they always treated me nicely. I'm so happy for the town, school, team, everyone. Feels like I won a state title lol.

Someone said Newton had to play a perfect game to beat Gunter. They've played far from a perfect game and are beating them right now. Perfect game doesn't exist. Props to Newton for responding to adversity

Amazing to see Newton use the passing game to thrive in the state title game. Against Waskom, the lack of a passing game was their biggest downfall. I'm happy it's here.

What all Newton players have been offered scholarships?
Darwin Barlow, Tamauzia Brown and James Sylvester

Gunter with the interception. Newton just killing themselves with mistakes.
-
TD pass for Gunter. false start on the XP moves them back and they miss. Gunter 16, Newton 14
-
Foster sacked and fumbles the ball, Gunter recovers
A couple of big resignations today

Man this was a total fail of a rebuttal on your part. Because I looked back in this thread to see if you asked me a question that I missed and I don't see one. Please, ask it to me again and I will answer. I look forward to it.
And you want to talk about flipping? I ask about when OF/BC/Lumberton will hire a black coach and instead of you answering, you respond with a question about Central/Ozen hiring a white head coach when they JUST had one for a few seasons. So I'll ask YOU again, when will Orangefield, Bridge City or Lumberton hire a black coach?
Meanwhile, I will continue to search for the question you said I'm not answering.
