i don't know... i kinda like LCM in another OT game, but these are both very good clubs this year.

i just hope if it does pass that lamar does something with the team, and takes the steps necessary to make it competitive. this isn't like the girls' soccer team. they had a really tough year, but they're a really cheap investment. if lamar's going to do football, i hope they put the money into the program to do it right. they may have already outlined a budget for the program if it passes, but i haven't seen it.

the Big 12 is for real... the top 9 or 10 teams are good enough beat anyone on any given night.

ST4life... i was really just trying to keep this thread from turning into what it's turned into, a bunch of back and forth between fans and little to nothing about the game. a lot of that is my fault, and i've already apologized for it. you were in fact just talking to MWhizzie, and once again, my fault for saying anything, but i've seen you do similar things before and turn whole threads into arguments (and Mwhizzie as well, which was why i wanted to stop it). i think you accused me of talking crap on silsbee before... i'm pretty sure the only time i've ever said anything against silsbee would've been when you and i went back and forth before, and even then it was little or nothing against the school itself. in general the worst thing i would've done would've been predicting HJ to beat them. If you'll read this and the other thread, HJ has almost unanimously been respectful and congratulatory to silsbee after this game, myself included. i just didn't want you turning that into something nasty by talking noise, but at this point it doesn't matter, we're already there. congrats once again to silsbee on a nice win, and good luck to both teams the rest of the way out.

this game was miserable to watch. on a positive note, there's no doubt in my mind that Texas can beat aTm. Here's why: a) the next time they play, aTm will not start out 6 of 7 from behind the arc. texas got awful performances from their top 3 players tonight, and still kept things semi-interesting for most of the game. c) as badly as they played, and even though they were in a 21 point hole after 10 minutes or so, texas won the last 30 minutes of the game by 4 points, and this while both teams were playing with starters until about 2 minutes left. this margin would've been even greater had texas not been chunking up desperate 3's the last minutes of the game, and had their freshmen not been committing stupid fouls to extend the game, giving aTm a ton of freethrows in the dying minutes. realistically, this final could've been closer to a 10 point win for the ags. d) augustin's shot selection was terrible. the entire game he was forcing up bad shots. this really hurt the longhorns. it won't happen again. e) james was pretty much a non-factor. this also won't happen again. f) texas gave away at least 6 points due to technical fouls (counting aTm's subsequent possessions). it is doubtful that this will happen again. g) the next game is in austin! h) texas was 11-21 on freethrows. they will do better next game. on the flipside, aTm, who is a dismal freethrow shooting team, shot almost 70% from the line, which is for them, pretty good. hopefully in a hostile environment they will do worse next game. Note that none of the above are excuses. aTm badly outplayed Texas the first ten minutes of the game, and then managed to play well enough to keep texas from getting back in it the rest of the way. the aggies played excellent defense, and texas had no answer for their post play. aTm more than deserved this win, and i give the credit where it's due. if texas had gotten a normal performance from james or augustin, i think this would've been a reasonably close game. some of their struggles were caused by aTm's defense, but augustin in particular just flat out played bad. i'm confident that when the rematch rolls around, Texas will be more than ready, and it will be a much more competitive game, with Texas having a very realistic shot at winning it. Congrats to the aggies for ruining my night...

mwhizzie doesn't count... you've been on here enough to know that... i've gotten onto him before. he's always going to do that... he's just about the only one from HJ. one of the main reasons i said anything at all was to keep mwhizzie from getting started up. i will say that in my opinion, HJ's "outhouse" is one of the cleaner crappers on this site. as for venting in my house or your house, i'll vent wherever i'd like, especially if someone comes knocking on the door talking crap. you're basically doing the same thing i did.

lightening quick 8-0 run by texas, 31-18. still bad, but looks a little better.

texas looks awful... they're a little unlucky that aTm can't miss a 3... as bad as they're playing, the should probably only be down 10 or 12, but the ags are absolutely dominating them.

i hear ya shack... i've been congratulatory to silsbee as well, and most of the fans have been cool. i just didn't like the taunting. win a game with class. 99% of the silsbee fans have done that, and 99% of the HJ fans lost with class. i just didn't want to see some cheap remarks end up causing a bunch of bickering back and forth on here, ruining the game. as it was, my intervention ended up doing that anyway, so for that, i apologize. congrats to silsbee for a great game! i hope to see another HJ/Silsbee playoff rematch somewhere down the road.

I've gotta favor Texas in this one. they've been playing good basketball, and they are coming off their most convincing win in Big 12 play (over a Tech team that owned aTm a few weeks ago). aTm finally got a win, but they still aren't clicking. I'm hoping Texas can sneak in and get this one before aTm gets it together and starts playing the way the were at the beginning of the year. Texas by less than 10.

30 points each might not be enough... HJ by 25. they're mad, and they need the win.

You haven't been on this site in over a month, but somehow it doesn't surprise me that you found your way on here today. We didn't hear anything from you after the first silsbee/hj game. That didn't surprise me either. I've been reading posts on here about this game since last night, and the HJ and Silsbee fans have both been very respectful of each other and of the teams. Even Mwhizzie himself has been pretty reasonable. Now you want to come on here and make these little petty comments that will only incite anger out of the HJ fans. What's the point? If you can't add something with some actual value to the thread, then stay off it. Read your last statement and follow your own advise bullets............. I will not agree nor disagree about the talent part, b/c both teams are very good. The scoreboard is a snapshot of the better team on any given day....... i've dealt with him before. he rarely types anything meaningful on here, just a bunch of crap designed to start arguments. here he makes two posts, neither of which have any value, and both of which are designed to simply insult rather than to inform. the scoreboard went silsbee's way last night. they played a great game. i already said that. many hawk fans have said that. now he comes on and tries to find ways to belittle hawk fans? i have a problem with that... in fact, being from silsbee, you should have a problem with that too.
