2. both good points, but being a teacher, i have to take advantage of paid leave days where i don't have to use my days :)
 3. i'll jump in with someone, considering the date.  anyone needing a partner let me know.
 4.
Added May 7th for Flower Gardens Trip.
if it werent my anniversary, AND if i didn't have jury duty, i'd be there :)
The TTF.  I do okay with stick baits, but enjoy fishing soft plastics more.
 6. I'm loving it!  i never liked him, and i hate the angels!  maybe he should change his name to poo-holes.

 8.

what type of lures do you all have the best luck with for redfish and speckle trout....i am thinking about going to get a couple of the Paul Brown Corkys...i have heard good things about them
The Paul Brown series (now by MirrOlure) is okay. I don't think brand name matters that much. The Skitter Walk is fairly popular on the coast as well as some people that use something like the Zara Spook for topwaters. I like the Yozuri but also fish the others. I like the action of most Rapala lures in both fresh and saltwater so I like the Skitter Walk but I think the lure companies try to sell the fisherman more than the fish. Those are all hard stick baits. I think the brand is not so important as is the color (at times), what kind of action (top water, slow sink, fast sink) and how the person fishes it. You can have guys fishing side by side with the same baits but with different results by the way they are fishing it. I use a lot of soft plastics also in various forms and colors. At times the color is very critical and other times not so much. I was fishing with bullets13 under the lights last year for specks and he tried some ugly green and black lure that I think he picked up in a garage sale in Montana while on vacation. He got on a roll with that bait and was killing them but neither he nor I could catch them on almost any other lures. Naturally he only had one. I think he tried it a few days later and couldn't get a hit on it. So I believe that the style of the bait and color most of the time is more important than which company makes it.
don't you talk about my firetiger!  i'm gonna pick up some more for this season :).
Several yards in are some fence post......some I think are under water.....be careful.....personally I would just barely get in a plane my first time back there.....
if you're "in a plane", you won't have to worry about fenceposts, but you will have to worry about power lines :)
 10. actually it was and... bullets and his buddys tommy and nick laughed and laughed and laughed at the idiot across the way.
 11. speaking of lighthouse cove, the last time we went this idiot was trying to outrun a wave when a big ship went through, fired up his big motor, forgot to lift his trolling motor, and went full speed into an oyster reef.
 12. when we go, we get up in the crap a bit, and we catch an awful lot of fish there, but you want to go with someone who knows what they're doing before you start running around in all the oyster beds.
 13. from the picture you'd assume the boat traffic would be in the middle of that channel, but it's actually closer to the far bank near the rigs, as that's where it's deepest, meaning there's a lot of shallow water to fish.
 14. yeah, but can see the area before you get to your line that extends is obviously shallow and full of oyster shell and whatnot.  hard to tell from that aerial photo, but that shallow area is HUGE... there were probably 10 boats fishing it the last time i went (in texas waters), and we were not casting on top of each other.
 15. i think "cove" is misleading, because it gets shallow a long way before it actually gets into the actual cove.
I thought you did.
only if you go all the way back in.  not exactly sure how far you can go in, but if you aren't between the two points, you should be good.  correct me if i'm wrong here, westend.
Anything past the extended lines of the ship channel is past the points of land. If the coves is legal for a Texas license then the whole thing should be legal until you cross into a canal or bayou that outfalls into the cove.
remember where we fished it last year?  that's not past the two points, but it's a good way in there.
 17. dallas just got extremely unlucky, playing a great game and then getting beat on a one-handed, off-balance leaner over 2 defenders that bounced off the side of the rim, straight up, and then in off the glass with .6 seconds left.  they deserved to win that game, or at least not to lose it on such a lucky, desperate shot.

 19. if she's that ugly he might need to shoot HIMSELF.
 20. only birds i've seen in about 5 months, well except for the liar birds... but the only group of seagulls i've seen.

 22. Had a rare chance to work some birds in the spring today... caught a few until some jackasses decided to potlick and managed to float right through the school.  had to work hard for our fish after that, but still caught 18 trout up to 21", and 3 nice flounder averaging 18".
 23. the seawall in Port Arthur, closest to the shrimp docks.  not a super safe area, though.
 24. pretty incredible stat: through 16 games, the rangers have allowed 4 runs in 3 games and 5 runs once.  the other 12 games they've allowed 3 or less.
 25.
The RANGERS win 3-2 in 11 innings today.  Get the winning run home by the squeeze.  TEXAS takes the series 3-1.  The yankees come to town starting Monday for a 3 game series.
i believe the rangers just went 8-1 on a roadtrip that took them through boston and detroit!  they're by far the best team in the league right now.
