  1. And if "Caesar" misuses those taxes and you suffer for it while those who choose not to work benefit??? It's cool because "Caesar" is really a good tax collector who is only criticized because of his race. Do I have that right?
  2. All you did was gripe about coaching most of his senior year. Now you say you weren't mad?
  3. Two people with similar bad ideas from different sides of the aisles doesn't turn it into a good idea. That being said, it's conceivable that there could be benefits from aspects of the plan, but it's been so poorly worked and has so many bad aspects to it that it's hard to find them.
  4. My biggest problem with his presidency is Obamacare. For many, many reasons. Including my increased insurance premiums.
  5. I get tired of hearing people accuse anyone who doesn't support Obama of being racist. Slow economic recovery, the IRS scandal, Benghazi, Obamacare, handouts, and many other issues are sufficient reasons to not support Obama. Personally, I don't think he's had a successful presidency. This does not make me a racist. The fact that I voted for him in the first election CLEARLY shows that my vote is not affected by race. I often butt heads with conservatives on here because they sometimes post questionable (at best) "news" articles, but the fact that Smitty or Nash or 77 or other similar posters don't support Obama is not race-related either. Why would someone who holds conservative views vote for Obama? It doesn't make sense. Obama could be lily-white and would still not be supported by the majority of this board. Claiming racism does, however, allow one to ignore the real reasons that he is often criticized.
  6. True. And both sides thinks compromise means that the other side gives in completely.
  7. That being said, had he messed up on his paperwork, why didn't he fix the mistake by voluntarily returning the money that he "accidentally" overcharged? Why did he fight in court to keep the money that he "didn't steal"? And realistically, what company ever was overcharged millions of dollars by a vendor and kept that vendor, whether it was an accident or not. Hell, I had a friend in high school fired for giving his buddies free snow cones, which was costing the company he worked for tens of dollars...
  8. Was he messing up on his paperwork when he charged the district for $600k worth of expenses incurred for "bucket truck rentals" when his company in fact owned bucket trucks and he didn't have to rent any?
  9. Clinton showed a willingness to work with both sides of the aisle. We need bipartisanship from whoever ends up in office if things are ever going to improve. Both sides think they're right on every issue, but to fairly represent the vastly different groups in our country compromise is needed.
  10. There's nothing offensive about the name, other than its sheer inaccuracy.
  11. That is the real football. And as a football fan (both American and world), can we all admit that the name "football" as in the American kind is a stupid name for the sport.
  12. 16 teams make the NBA playoffs, and a team can lose three games and still advance to the next round. Just saying. Because it's only every four years, and the preparation involved, the tournament is set up in 8 round robin groups with 4 teams, guaranteeing each team 3 games. The top two teams from each group advance to a single elimination bracket. It's really a pretty cool setup which allows an overmatched team like the USA to have something to play for. They played three teams with more talent than them, pulled one upset, managed to play another team evenly, and lost a 1-0 game. This very impressive showing against superior opponents was enough for them to finish second in their group and advance.
  13. I love my Springfield XD 9mm subcompact. Not perfect for carry, but small enough, and 16 rounds gives me more than enough chances to hit my target. I've fired over 1000 rounds through it with no jams, and I just like the way it feels. But no argument with the glocks that TVC mentioned.
  14. Soccer is growing, and it's funny to me how many people seem to have a problem with that fact. I guess because Americans think we should be the best at everything.
  15. I have a Rock River AR-15 and love it. TVC can attest to how nice they are. I also have a PAP M92, which is essentially just an AK47 with a pistol grip and a short barrel. Tons of fun to shoot, but you're aiming at a general direction, not a bullseye.
  16. I hunted with a single shot Thompson Center 25-06 for a few years and didn't have any problem, but it IS nice to have more rounds when pigs Come out.
  17. Mr. BG has discovered that stripping is much more lucrative.
  18. I saw my hairstylist on the news!
  19. I would assume one would be more of a problem for you because you don't have to deal with the other. I don't know that many things "pale in comparison" to having a large percentage of our potential young, educated workforce incurring large amounts of debt in order to join that workforce.
  20. There are plenty of moderates on the right. You just simply dismiss any republican who doesn't share your radically right beliefs as a "democrat in disguise".
  21. You've made references to this belief before. You simply toe the party line and have no individual thoughts or opinions, merely doing and believing what your party tells you to do. That's fine, but to criticize someone for daring to form their own opinions and beliefs is asinine.
  22. I don't agree with Obama on this, but I do have a problem with the outrageous costs of getting a college degree. For a good percentage of students, loans are the only option. Sure, there are cheap(er) options out there, but many employers look at where your degree was earned. It's near or more than $20K to attend most of the big colleges in Texas for one year, and it's becoming tougher to finish a degree in 4 years. So most of your educations are going to cost $100K to complete. That's a racket, but the only choice a kid has if he wants to work a job that requires a degree is to find a way to pay it. Some parents can afford $20K a year, and some kids get scholarships, but there are more kids than not that are expected to find a way to foot the bill.
  23. Moderate is a good thing. Although any term describing someone who doesn't believe everything western journalism puts out is a bad word to some on this site. There are plenty of koolaid drinkers on both sides. I think it's funny that republicans and democrats think anyone who chooses not to drink their flavor on every issue is the one that's the sheep.
  24. the night bite has been just about non-existent.  usually by now we've been catching them for several weeks.  this has sucked.
