1. I went to a stand tonight where we were getting some pictures, and my dad hunted my stand on a whim and shot a 3-point 3 minutes before you can't legally shoot.  I saw a spike, a doe, and a button buck, by the spike came out in the only place at that stand where I can see but not logistically get a shot off.  We're not seeing big bucks, but we have seen 7 or 8 since Saturday, which is exciting because the last couple of years it's been almost entirely does out here
2. Saw nothing tonight
3. We saw two borderline 8-points today, a 3 or 4 point, and a couple of does.  No shots taken.
4. Missed a hog.  Pretty grumpy about it, but it was a tough shot.  He kept sticking his head out of the thick stuff and grabbing corn at about 70 yards.  It was getting dark so I tried to pop him when he stuck his head out
5. slow going out here today... three of us hunted.  one saw a doe and a button buck, one saw a doe and a yearling, and that was IT.
6. I'm starting to get excited!  I took Monday and Tuesday off and I'm ready to get to the lease.  Not sure how many deer I'll see, but I like my odds off at least dropping a pig or two.
7.

I'm hunting in sour lake so I bet its a lot different than south or east or west texas
Where do ya hunt in SL, we hunt the property North of Little Pine Island Bayou from Bevil Oaks to Pinewood, we get to it off Hiway 421, we do good yearly but are very selective on who we let hunt and what we shoot...
i've got a buddy who hunts a similar situation out there, and i know he does well.  it's nice to have a big area without much hunting pressure at your disposal.
8. Silsbee is going to be scary good this year, i do believe.  the best 3A team in the state, possibly.  (i'm talking about real 3A programs, not ones that recruit players from places like New Jersey, not to mention having the greater Houston area at their disposal).
9. I was rooting for the Giants to beat the Cardinals, and now i'm rooting for the Tigers beat the Giants.  I'm ready to see the WS come back to the American league.
10. soccer forum is fairly dead these days, Bon.  I hope all is well for you!
11. havent been back to check my cameras since this was taken, but my uncle saw 20 on my feeder last night at 6.
12. good thing they taste so good :) [img][Hidden Content]]
13. Has a .40 goals-against per game mark in southland conference play, and has allowed only 1 goal (a penalty kick) in her last 405 minutes in goal.  Lamar is 4-1 in the southland.
14.
Made the trip this summer. Been trying to talk my wife into moving there ever since. If you are bringing home fish, get them frozen and packed and bring them on the plane as baggage.  Much cheaper than trying to ship them back.  It is $40 or $50 for a checked bag (up to 50 pounds) on most airlines, and $8.00 a pound to ship it back.
yup.  we brought back 350 lbs of halibut and 150 lbs of salmon a few years ago.  carried on coolers :)
15.

Yes they can, and the HJ-WOS score is very decieving.
HJ was held to zero points, what do you consider deceiving? :o :o ::) ::)
give HJ the missed short field goal, and take away the two INT returns, and it's 35-3.  that's almost respectable against WOS.  then take away the two TD drives after the punt returns that totalled 13 yards, and it's 21-3.  SO yes, it was a blowout, but the score wasn't indicative of how much closer HJ played them than in years past.  a couple of QB miscues, and a couple of ST miscues made this game a much larger blowout than it was for the other 98% of the game.
16.
This weekend. [Hidden Content]
you look like you could use another son to take along with you from time to time... i'm just saying.
17. what hasn't gone wrong for the rangers the second half of the season?  They put up a respectable record, despite losing two very good starters in Lewis and Feliz... and then in the last two weeks, they lose their best setup man in Mike Adams, Josh Hamilton proves himself as the least clutch best player in MLB, and i bet the rangers only scored maybe 15-20% of runners from 3rd base with less than two outs.  they fell apart.  the bullpen and the young starters finally started playing poorly.  the offense went cold.  i'm frustrated, but i won't mind when they lose to the orioles, because the orioles deserve a shot at a full series with the good baseball they played down the stretch, and to be honest, the rangers deserved to go home at the end of the regular season after losing 9 of their last 13 games and blowing several late leads.
18. well, it was a little closer than in years past...
19.
Checking Wake Forest Roster..... it's amazing how a college coach can take a perfectly good attacking player and make them a defender. Parker is listed as a defender. Amato did the same thing with Zuri but later found out she is best of front. It's hard to believe she is the only Kelly player representing the Women's side. Somebody needed to give the Men their props... Glad you took the lead SFA! Saw Christian in Houston at the HBU vs SFA women's game... I bet he is a beast!!!
i scored A LOT of goals at striker in HS... went off to college, and we had two 1st-team all-state forwards come in the same year i arrived.  I was plenty good enough to be on the field, but not quite as good as those two... so i ended up as a winger.  I would imagine that would be an even more common happening at a school as big as Wake Forest.
20. Curious to see how my season goes.  All of the trees that burnt last year have been clear cut, so there's not nearly as much cover, but we've put in about 10 food plots
21.
Great haul Bullets. I went to Sabine Lake on Sat.,  no birds working as tide died down.  So,  I visited my old faithfu and boated about 20 trout, w/ 10 keepers.  Not a bad day after all.
birds were all over the lake sunday, just had to find them.  small fish though.  if we hadn't been fishing with LA licenses we'd have had about 4 keepers.  but 13 and 14 inch fish taste just as good as 20 inch fish :)
22. [img][Hidden Content]] LA meat haul.
23. What's next for Yates basketball?  D2 collegiate championship.  then a move into D1, so they can start giving scholarships to their recruits.
24. ETBU also beat UT-Tyler, the reigning conference champs, 1-0 last week.  I guess Jose is finally getting them back together.  They haven't had too many competitive seasons since i played there (not that i was the reason)
