  1. what are the odds they actually play this one? quite a bit of rain...
  2. I'll come say hi. It's been awhile
  3. cool. was hoping to see Trevis pitch this year without having to have to drive too far.
  4. any clue on pitching matchups? i'll make it to this one, assuming it's not cancelled due to weather.
  5. Kind of irrelevant. Kinda like a guy shooting a cop, the cop shooting back and hitting him, him falling down and dropping his weapon, and then a couple of more cops standing over him and shooting while he was down. Even if the force was justified originally, at some point it no longer is. But I do know what you're saying. It's very likely he did something to cause the cops to beat him like they did.
  6. I'm going to have to agree with you on the point, while disagreeing with your example.
  7. Wouldn't be surprised if he saw an opportunity to put himself in a situation where he could file a lawsuit and took it. Based on his history, he seems like that kind of guy
  8. If this is in fact the case I hope they can prove it. Considering the hit they've already taken you'd think that United would release some sort of statement to this effect if this is how it actually happened
  9. Agreed 1000%
  10. It says in the fine print that nobody reads that you have to get off the flight if they need the seats to get employees to another town to work the next day. I don't like the rule, but we all agree to it when we purchase airline tickets. They handled it very, very poorly, but they had the right to remove him from the plane.
  11. Boerne won 2-1. Great season Jasper.
  12. 2-1 Boerne, pretty late
  13. Boerne up 2-0 second half.
  14. Boerne up 1-0 in the 1st half. Also, WOSgrad, somehow it let me delete the title of this thread from thread menu, without me trying, which is why I edited your thread. Still not sure how I did that.
  15. kind of a weird deal. Kennedale was every bit as good this year as last year, maybe better, and Stephenville beat them 3-1 for only their second loss of the season, with their other being a 3-1 loss to a 5A regional semi-finalist in their warmup game before playoffs. But then they play a (considering we're at state) pretty mediocre Athens team (I think HF and LCM could hold their own against them) and only win 2-0.
  16. i know you can do the $9.95 thing on the uil website, but while I'm interested, I'm not $10 interested.
  17. with 17 minutes left Stephenville leads 1-0 over Athens.
  18. Athens got hot at the right time, but came out of a fairly weak region. Jasper beat them 9-1 earlier in the season.
  19. First matchup is Athens (15-10-1) vs. Stephenville (23-4) at 11:00 Second matchup is Jasper (26-1) vs. Boerne (20-4-1)
  20. I was in the process of editing my post. it explains my views.
  21. I'm on both sides of the fence. it's incredibly easy to gain access to some form of identification that makes you eligible to vote, and the anger against the ID laws is way overblown. . That being said, there is certainly some intent in the law to make it more difficult for the poor to vote. When an amendment to the law was proposed that expanded the types of photo ID's that were accepted, allowed for the acceptance of expired photo IDs, and reduced the cost of purchasing new photo ID's, it was rejected. If the purpose of this law is to simply make sure someone is a legal voter, I see no justification for rejecting that amendment. I also find it strange that the new voter ID laws did not address mail-in ballots, which is the form of voting that is the most susceptible to fraud. This whole scenario reminds me of my school: We require photo ID to pick up students at my school, and the purpose is not to make it difficult for our parents to get their children, but to make sure they're who they say they are. You MAY NOT pick up a student without proof of identification, and it is very important that we verify the identity of everyone that comes in to pick a child up. That being said, any form of valid ID will do. If you can prove you're allowed to pick up a child, that's good enough, and the same should be true when it comes to voting. If you have an expired ID card, but I can use it to determine that you're eligible to vote, that should be good enough. The purpose is not to make it harder for you to vote, but to make sure you're eligible to.
  22. I just want to hear your thoughts on the Texas Voter ID Laws, and on a federal judge determining that it was passed to discriminate against minorities?
  23. 8-5 LCM, last I heard. Not sure what inning
  24. That's pretty funny. The left cares a lot more about refugees from other countries than they care about the destitute veterans in our own country.
  25. We'll never know, but I would not be surprised if they did, because they could then blame the Dems and say "they gave us no choice", which is basically what they're doing now while also saying "the dems did it first"
