  1. Silsbee is rightfully ranked higher than their record indicates, but I think HJ deserves the same treatment over HF and Lumberton, who’ve played much softer schedules. Both of those teams might not have a win had they played Silsbee’s schedule, and I’m fairly confident they’d be a ways under .500 had they played HJ’s, who has a few good wins, a lot of solid ones, plus a close loss to PA.
  2. Let’s go tigers!
  3. Great season, tigers.
  4. Half of the 4A top-10 is .500 or worse, and Madison still #1 in 3a with a 1-8 record. I understand some of these teams play tough schedules, or play teams from higher classifications, but winning games should be part of the equation at least.
  5. Yesterday: HJ 73, Zapata 23 HJ 63, Port Aransas 41 Today: HJ 74, Rockport Fulton 43
  6. Might have to make the long 12-minute drive to watch this one
  7. Melissa should’ve upset Waco La Vega, but blew a 20-0 lead. Then got the ball back with 30 seconds left in their own territory tied at 42 and ran the ball instead of kneeling and forcing OT. Fumbled. Then got a penalty and put La Vega in fg range and lost 45-42 as time expired
  8. Newton has to play a good game to win. They aren’t going to be able to stumble through this one like they’ve done in some games this year.
  9. Was always gonna be a tough game for the horns, and the injuries made it impossible. Giddings is a 5-loss team, but they’ve played a very tough schedule that both prepared them for the playoffs and also made them look worse than they actually are.
  10. Pick 6 for giddings early third, up 28-7. Looks like Morris is done for the game
  11. Don’t have Cleveland on the schedule on here, but max preps has HF beating Cleveland 87-79 at HF on Saturday in an official game. Any HF fans have any input?
  12. After winning only 4 games the last two seasons combined, HF is 2-0 this season. Already a heck of a turnaround. Also, what strange world do we live in where Hamshire Fannett posts back to back wins against Cleveland and Kountze and it’s not a big deal. I’m still pretty impressed with the Cleveland win, regardless of the circumstances. They were a 16-win team last season
  13. Pine tree tied it at 14 in the third before falling apart
  14. Way to go horns!
  15. Why not run out the clock?
  16. It was 46-7 mid-3rd
  17. My cousin plays for Harleton, and is probably their best defensive player. The turnaround Harleton made this year was nothing short of spectacular. 2016 they went 2-8, and 1-5 in district. 2017 they went 2-8 and 1-5 in district. 2018 they went 1-9, and 0-6 in district, being outscored 255-28 in district. This year Harleton went 8-2, and 5-1 in district. I expect them to walk through deweyville pretty easily. Harleton hasn’t played a real tough schedule, but they just beat Joaquin 22-13, who beat deweyville 61-0 to start the season.
  18. Half the teams making it from a district would be okay with me. 2 from a 4 team district, 3 from a 6, 4 from an 8. But creating a playoff bracket would be a logistical nightmare.
  19. Wos got 7 of theirs off a turnover as well. And the second turnover was basically a punt interception on 3rd and long. HF defense has been big so far. I do expect wos to pull away a little now, but I’m rooting for the horns
  20. HF holding their own, but WOS closes out the half with a pick in the end zone. Going into the half with the score 14-7
