20-16 at the half, after an electrifying 5-1 quarter. Nazareth got away with an obvious shooting foul on a half court attempt at the buzzer.

20-16, Nazareth, 2:40 left in the half. Nazareth made 5 of their first 6 threes, but have gone cold. They definitely look like the better team, though. They’ve beaten Dodd City in the last two state championship games

Wax life plays a style that, when done well, gives the tigers a little trouble. Yates plays a style that fits right into Silsbee’s hands. I think Yates isn’t quite as good as the last few years, while the tigers are as strong as ever. I think Silsbee keeps a small lead most of the game, and pulls away early 4th in what ends up being a fairly comfortable win. Silsbee 99, Yates 82

It seemed like Wax Life held up against the pressure pretty well all night long until the last couple of minutes when they didn’t have a choice but to press the issue and run and gun to try and make up the deficit as time was running out. When they got to that point, Silsbee’s pressure finally caught up to them.

That escalated quickly!

26-10 and on a 14 game win streak. Decent guards that have held up pretty well against Silsbee pressure and a good big man. I don’t know if subpar is the right term for them. Although I think Silsbee should be up a little more than they are. I’d say Silsbee has been a subpar by their own high standards tonight.
