  1. Yeah, they played pretty well. Nice to see the new QBs come in and do well. Whittington had himself a game as well.
  2. For scores that aren’t updated by fans on here we have to rely on sites like maxpreps. Sometimes they’re inaccurate. I updated probably 25 scores from maxpreps week one, and this makes 2 that were inaccurate. Well, this score was correct, they just put that it went to OT
  3. It seems less likely you’ll get it, but the numbers of vaccinated getting sick is definitely growing. Totally agree, though. The local hospitals have been posting numbers and the difference in vaccinated and non vaccinated being hospitalized is tremendous
  4. She was driving like she was drunk. I'll admit I didn't care enough to watch the whole video. I'd guess she was probably texting or something.
  5. At my hospital, over 95% of COVID-19 patients share one thing in common: They’re unvaccinated (msn.com)
  6. I think this is spot on. I also think most people who are pro-life (and pro-choice, for that matter), are not willing to put their money where their mouth is. Not too many folks out there are donating money to those causes, or tithing 10% (or even close to that) to allow churches afford to help out. We live in a very selfish society these days, where everyone has strong opinions, but not many people back it up with charitable actions. I may be on the opposite side of the abortion debate as you, but I would definitely prefer this be the answer to the problem.
  7. I'm not saying liberals care about them. the majority of people on both sides don't care about them. but only one side is demanding they be born.
  8. again, that's the point. so many conservatives don't care about them once they're born. are they not still pure then?
  9. We've had this debate before, and a lot of people were "very disappointed" in me. I don't have an issue with a woman terminating a non-viable fetus while it's in her body. It's not something I agree with morally, but it's not something I think anyone has the right to tell a woman not to do. Where do you stop? Why is it okay for a man to wear a condom, or a woman to take birth control? Think of all the potential babies they're killing. Where in the bible did God say it was okay to have a vasectomy or a hysterectomy. Why do conservatives get to determine the cutoff of when it's acceptable to end potential life? Why do they fight so hard to force at-risk, impoverished mothers to have these children, and then fight so hard to not contribute to helping them financially through government programs. And then get to say things like "you should've been more responsible", or "carry it for nine months and give it up for adoption". It's really just such a ridiculous argument to me. A bunch of dudes sitting around telling women what they should have to do with their own bodies when they get pregnant. A bunch of dudes sitting around and coming up with their own made up rules as to what's acceptable and what isn't in terms of birth control. There's a reason that predominately republican supreme courts haven't touched this issue.
  10. it's a lot easier to talk on these issues with such certainty when you don't.
  11. Agree. Planned Parenthood is one of these places.
  12. Seems like you would've preferred nine old white guys telling women what they CANNOT do with their body?
  13. Maga isn't wrong, though. The vast majority of the people I know who are strongly pro-life are the same ones that are strongly against providing financial support for those babies after they're born.
  14. To me it’s kinda like the gun buyback programs. Nobody is turning in a gun for a little bit of money if they want the gun, and nobody is getting the shot for $100 that wasn’t already ready to get the shot. It’s unrealistic to offer a cash incentive large enough to convince someone who doesn’t want to get the shot. If you offered $1500, and someone could pay their house and car notes for a month, I could see someone changing their mind and getting the shot. But $100? That’s not going to make anybody take a shot that they already felt was so risky that they wouldn’t get it for free.
  15. Also a reasonable response.
  16. Not an unreasonable response. I will say that if he wasn’t worried about winning the game as much as working on the things you say, I don’t know why he had the qb in risking injury when he could barely walk.
  17. 1. Depends on how bad the infraction is. 2. if it’s persistent 3. It’ll be the entire site, but I’ll be watching this forum closely because it accounts for the majority of these things. 4. Use common sense. I’m not going to get worked up over certain words not used in attacks. Idiot isn’t a bad word, but if you call another member that, it’s breaking site rules. Bunghole is probably okay, but again, not in a personal attack. F-word is one of those bad infractions listed in #1
  18. All good. As long as not directed in a personal attack against another member
  19. I watched the game. Crosby had one big play and one long drive (probably 65-70 of Jone's yards were on that drive). the entire game, and Crosby was behind by the time your QB was limping. Your best drive was when he was too hurt to pass and had to hand the ball off. Now maybe Crosby's offense sucks, but y'all really didn't do much of anything against Carthage's D. I'm not a fan of either team, but just an interested observer. I don't think Carthage has a defense that could stop Manvel, but they made Crosby look pedestrian, even after their offense gave y'all the ball 5 times in the first half, often with great field position.
  20. Pointless where this is going... please reference my new thread if you have any questions are concerns.
  21. giant speck.
  22. Alright ladies and gentleman, we're going to get back to being respectful and following site rules. It's perfectly acceptable to have debates, even to criticize someone's position, without name calling and insults. When a topic is started, sometimes they can move in different directions, but people should not be bringing up arguments from other threads and intentionally derailing topics. There are a few members on here who like to start it, but several more who get drawn into it (it's happened to me from time to time myself). I don't care if you start it or not, I'm going to start issuing warnings, and if need be, bans. I don't care if it's a new member or someone who's been on the site for 10 years and has 20,000 posts. Words like moron, snowflake, dingleberry, idiot, etc. etc. etc. are going to start getting warnings. If someone calls you one, bite your tongue and let me handle it. Or don't, and get a warning yourself. I've really tried to let a lot of this slide because I think it's good for the site to have people from both sides of an argument talking and debating, but it's only good when people are respectful (or at least trying to make a point beyond calling someone stupid). Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
  23. I wasn't going to come back for more abuse, but when I found out I was guaranteed at least 4 right I figured I better take advantage. 1. Tomball Memorial 2. PA Memorial 3. North Shore 4. Allen 5. New Caney 6. Manvel 7. United 8. Vidor 9. Silsbee 10. WO-S 11. Lumberton 12. FREE 13. East Chambers 14. Woodville 15. Bridge City 16. FREE 17. FREE 18. Warren 19. Hardin 20. Kountze 21. FREE 22. Tyler Chapel Hill 23. Summer Creek 24. Liberty 25. Shelbyville
  24. I respect that, and also the fact that you can have a conversation about the subject without it devolving into an argument. I don't think they're super effective, but I personally believe they do help some. If, as the article states, schools that had mandatory mask mandates had 21% less cases, I feel like that's a pretty good result from the masks, and 20% is probably about how effective they are. But paired with other safety measures, I think they can help. This year, with no restrictions at the start of school, vs. last year with distancing, masks, desk shields, etc., there've literally been ten times more cases in schools in three weeks than we saw the entire last school year. That's not an exaggeration. Now, is that because Delta is more contagious, or is it because the governor has discouraged safety measures? I have a feeling it's a combination of the two.
