It would be dumb to tear down the amphitheater for a new football stadium. The amphitheater isn't even paid for yet it needs the added expense of tearing it down? Lamar definitely needs to work on the aesthestics of the current stadium however. I'd be more for a new stadium near the golf range before Ford Park.

Can't really be down on LM's administration. Why should they care about other programs? They are looking out for themselves as any school would. It is the coaches who are looking to leave. I have always felt Nederland was a less talented team than many in the area but were very disciplined and fundamentally sound. You have not seen a lot of mistakes. If Neumann does leave Nederland must find a strong leader or some lean years could be in store.

I do not live in Jefferson county, but those are the exact sentiments I have felt Walker displays. Griffith made a mistake about how it got done, but I think you guys down there lost a very respected individual who represented you well in all other aspects as judge. Hopefully Walker can still get treatment for his rectal-cranial inversion before it is too late.

Yeah, I have to agree. You're in a position where you have placed yourself as "the" guy for LU athletics information. I along with most who visit this part of the board have developed a certain amount of trust for your posts. We get all sorts of posters who say all sorts of nonsensical things but I would have expected more here. April 1st is still 2 weeks away.

If Texas St, SHSU, SFA, UNT, ULL, LaTech, and Lamar want a better conference why don't they just start their own? How hard would it be to find a couple more solid programs to invite? Maybe you could grab a Rice or SMU. Let's be real here none of those teams are powerhouses or will create a major buzz in the current conferences.

After watching that all I can say is Walker is a dope. First it came out the county wanted $10000 a game then only $4000. Who is taking money from whom here? Quick question, if hockey represents 80% of the building usage and the county wants it gone then why did they resign a huge contract with SMG to run the facility? Obviously Ford Park will become a glorified civic center. If I was a local Ford dealer who had committed thousands of dollars to this facility I'd be looking at the fine print of the contract and contacting attorneys.

Griffith may have lost his position as county judge due to Ford Park, but it is there now. It has to be supported and paid for. Even if it is torn down and buried the bill is still there.

No high school coach is getting this position and anyone who thinks that is not fully comprehending the entire situation. Lamar is relying on some big time donations from the area. Those donors would not pour millions into this and agree for a half-hearted attempt to start a new program. An inexperienced hs coach won't cut it no matter how successful they were on a Friday night. The ten days should instantly tell folks a lot has already occured behind the scenes. Honestly, does anyone actually keep up with any other tournament than the NCAA? It is great to hear post-season etc, but lets be real here. The NIT, which is bigger than this CBI or whatever it is called, only gets a small blog at the end of an ESPN Sportcenter. I don't mean to be "Debbie Downer" but it is 3-0 with an NCAA invite or nothing really.

So what is it....from "what you hear" or "or like you see it". Were you even at the game? I was in Austin I believe it was '02 when a truly more talented team beat Sutherland's then Kounze Lions. It was late in the game with Gainsville having a solid double digit lead when Sutherland put in some sophomores and freshmen to get some "time". Of course they looked great against the Gainsville bench players. Then all of a sudden folks in the stands started bashing Sutherland for not knowing he should have been playing those kids. They were "better" than the starters. Nothing like the "real" coaches in the stands. Let's hear what "mustard" you were and could cut.

Trolls always come out from under the bridge when adversity occurs. Sutherland is absolutely the best coach in the area. On game days whether it is basketball, football, or whatever, the kids have to play to the level they are capable. Every team has an off game and an on game. Yesterday was Silsbee's day much like last year it was HJ's. To question a coach based strictly on one loss is idiotic. I tell you what, how about the original poster place their resume' on the board. I guarantee it pales in comparison. I would surmise the original poster doesn't even have the qualifications to even be a coach. Lose gracefully, your team will see success in the future.

This is why I asked about proper dates. I have not heard any excuses from HJ. I actually appreciate the positive responses from HJ today. We need to enjoy them while we can because after next week the trash talk begins for next season.

You're checking the dates of these posts correct? Seems like most of the HJ posts are of a supportive nature for the Tigers after today.

this seriously might be the dumbest thing ive ever heard silsbee beat OF by 1 point i watched chaped hill play four games and in no way or form is silsbee even close to dreaming about being on their level go watch a game or something cause your words dont match the facts The fact is Silsbee beat HJ and Silsbee is better Jeez.....show some class. It is great as a Silsbee fan, but give HJ some props. They pulled for the Tigers to be in the regional finals at least show some respect in their loss.
