  1. Last I heard was possibly in Spring next Friday.
  2. Looking from the outside in, anyone close to football saw that there was going to be little drop off at wos regardless who was on the sideline. From a mystique standpoint the “mustang in your head” factor was put to rest for Silsbee in November 2018 during a thunderstorm in New Caney. Things cycle for most teams you guys just have not been used to it.
  3. San Augustine had some athletes. Figured they'd of advanced.
  4. For the record I was merely asking if the future “star” played that evening. I went and didn’t notice anyone that I’d think Newton would be hitching their wagon to as a freshman. I assumed the kid must have been out. In regards to the clock comment I just found it odd how the operation changed when Newton was down with under a minute to go. Shocked Kountze was even winning at that point to be honest. It was a middle school game so whatever.
  5. Was he playing in the Kountze 8th game? It took nfl quality time keepers in that last minute of the game to allow Newton the last second win.
  6. Lack of discipline. Discipline in the sense you execute the fundamentals. There have been many schools succeed not based on just talent but by eliminating mistakes. That starts at the top. Self discipline to want to work hard and better yourself to achieve your goals. A lot of kids nowadays (not just Beaumont) don’t want to work for it. Practice is boring they’d rather play video games. Can’t take tough coaching. Not knowing what’s in the hallways but I’d wager you have lots of talent that is just lethargic and not participating in any extra curricular. Discipline to fight through adversity. Apathy, it’s hard to get up and want to participate in what some perceive is a loser. Rather than striving to be the difference maker they just won’t participate. Once again not unique to Beaumont, but I’d bet this is common amongst many struggling teams. It is hard to get rid of a losing mindset. Bottom line is it falls on the coaches and community. You have to make the kids believe in program, believe in the goal, and believe in themselves.
