AggiesAreWe got a reaction from 87JAG in BISD athletics cut?
I honestly believe the cuts will be more of a cutback on funding ie. equipment, facilities, travel, etc. Maybe a few low participation sports gets cut but I do not see BISD cutting out athletics as a whole.
Not sending bands to away games, making teams play more local, no playing tourney's outside of area, cutting back on staff, etc. Things of this nature is what I expect BISD to do to help with the budget.

He will receive $50,000 instead of the $245,000 that he was going to receive from the old board.

In all seriousness, the owner of the site has informed me to let you guys know that if this forum continues to go down this path with all these stupid threads (his words), then he will eventually put this forum in the dumper. When he starts receiving messages from members complaining about how they have stopped posting or reading a particular forum, then he has a problem.
Let's reign it in guys. Let's stop with the unnecessary posting of "pissing contest" threads.
Thanks

Hey, I just do what the boss man tells me. I cannot help that he is an ultra conservative. ;)

What about smokers, drinkers and drug users? Should they be taxed?
What about boxers, MMA fighters, thrill seekers?
This subject is pretty silly.
Has this forum come to this kind of talk?

AggiesAreWe got a reaction from skipper in talk on the street at lc-m
Never understood why anyone who had a north to south field would have the home stands on the east side.

18 playoff appearances in last 20 years is not mediocre nor short term.

I am guessing he is from Pear Orchard and a Hebert grad.

AggiesAreWe got a reaction from sully in when was the last time lc-m played at silsbee
Very, very young. Will go through some growing pains through non-district but I expect them to be ready by district time. I expect them to make playoffs. Could finish anywhere from 2-4 spot. Just don't think they have enough to win district.

AggiesAreWe got a reaction from AthleticSupporter - Jock in Any Midnight Madness in the area tonight
I attended the LC-M and WO-S practices last night (or this morning, 2am  ). Was quite impressed with the numbers and size that LC-M had out. About 90 10th-12th and very huge O-line and D-lines. Sonnier looked very good at QB. If the Bears find a running back (which I believe they will) I look for very good things to come to LC-M this season.
WO-S has speed, speed, and more speed!! They do have some size in the trenches but not like LC-M. Rutledge looked a little off in the scrimmage part, throwing a couple of picks, but all in all, looked like he will be fine as the leader of the offense. Chain Gang defense is just plain nasty. Ton of speed. The secondary is as good as it gets. Would put that bunch up against any foursome in the state. I still like this team making it to Jerry World this season.

AggiesAreWe got a reaction from mighymouse490 in 2 a days
I don't bother going to practices until the pads are on. I will be attending LC-M and WO-S midnight practices Thursday night, then Silsbee Friday morning and a few more Friday evening.
No use in watching football practices without any hitting. Get zero feel for a team in helmets and shorts.

IMO, this was something that wasn't needed. if you win and win big, the kids will get noticed. no need to "beg or buy" for attention. if you are good they WILL come(scouts).

Imo, 3 district representatives are sufficient.... That's if somehow they make every district at least 7 teams....
