But you claiming this game has NO importance is just bogus and that makes you look idiotic. Do the playoffs and a state title game carry more importance? Sure. But it does not take away the importance of this game. A district championship is important. Is it less important than a state championship? Sure. But that doesn't take away from what this game means, a district title and bragging rights over the other team. There is no guarentee that either team would win their first round playoff games. Do I think they will? Sure. But I think I know Alverez and Barbay well enough that these guys will go into this game with nothing else on their minds but winning this football game. But even winning out doesn't get them in. They have to beat Shepherd by at least 10 or more points if they end in a three way tie with Liberty and Shepherd. I see Liberty splitting their games finishing 2-4 and I see Shepherd losing to Huffman to finish 3-3. If Liberty does split and finishes 2-4, then the winner of this week's Huffman and Shepherd game will go to the playoffs as long as Huffman takes care of business against Tarkington in the last week of district. If for some reason Liberty were to win their last two games, then Huffman will need to defeat Shepherd this week by 10 or more to give them the tie breaker over Liberty and Shepherd.

Let's get something clear, contrary to what you might think, you can't say what you want on this site. We do have rules you know.  ;) With that said, no rules has been broken, but I agree with Bleed, using the word "pathetic" is a bit harsh.

My picks to make the regional tourney: Cleveland- district 22-3A champ Silsbee- district 21-3A champ Crockett- district 20-3A champ Lufkin Hudson- district 18-3A runnerup Semis would pit Cleveland vs. Crockett out of the top bracket, Silsbee vs. Hudson out of the lower bracket. Here is last year's bracket to give you some perspective: [Hidden Content] This is not necessarily the best 4 in the region, but who I think will make the tourney. Some teams will have an easier route while other top teams will eliminate one another.

I would say that the Houston Wheatley teams of '70-'72 with Eddie Owens and Co. could play with anyone in this era.

This shouldn't even be brought up for discussion. Lincoln by a wide margin.

Bridge City is the better team out of them and Orangefield. I look for the Cards to win next week against the Bobcats. But, anything can happen, particularly in a rivalry game. I did hear that Corey Huckaby has a concussion, could be out next week. Not good for the Bobcats.
