First let me say that even for all of my posts about rankings the only one that I was ever really serious about was ro try to get the powers that be to make one more division in this poll so that 3A and 2A were separated from 1A and private. Can Evadale be Kirbyville, Newton or Silsbee? It would not be a really good bet to go for the Rebels or any 1A or private school for that matter against those schools or any in the 3A-Private poll, But I make this arguement one final time. A 1A team all be it my beloved Rebels completed a perfect regular season. They defeated all comers who the faced and if you can believe it they were behind for a total of 3:21 to any team all season long. They were tied on a couple of occasions, but only behind for 3:21, that impressive you have to admit. They shut out five teams in ten games. They allowed 53 points the entire season. Only 25 in six district games (I did not count the forfeit game in these totals except the victory). With all that said the only 1A or private school team with one of only two perfect 10-0 seasons is number 7 in the final poll. Consider that this might be the best (I know many might debate the point) team in 1A in many years. Do you think that another team will ever put up a more impressive resume that would allow them to rise above #7. The arguement was that there are not enough teams in the 1A-Private divisions with 8 from 23A, 4 in the TAPPS district that Legacy is in and 4 (I believe) in Kelly's district, Don't you think you could see your way clear to make a 1A-Private top 5 in 2010. I do enjoy seeing how teams are ranked, but I just believe that no 1A-Private school will ever be good enough to rise in this poll we way that it is presently set up. Good luck to all the ranked teams and the unranked ones that are heading into the playoffs, bring home some hardware to SETX!
What did you say? Say that again. ;D BTW, we would only rank Legacy and Kelly due to the fact the other teams in their districts are not in our area. That's the reason for not enough teams.
Are Cleveland, Dayton, Goose Creek and even Jasper (75 miles from Beaumont) really in SETX? What kind of resume would a 1A or private school need to break into even the top 5 of the poll as it stands now?  Just a couple of questions that I have.
Yes, those schools we consider in our area. St. Thomas, St. Pius, Katy Faith and those other private schools we do not consider in our area.

 4. Oh you meant today and tomorrow. I was posting that score from many, many years ago that happened on a Monday. ;D
 5. Silsbee 85 Canyon 54
 6. I ventured out there after we finished our preview show from the Hamburger Depot just down the road. It was great seeing the crowd out there and getting to see Lamar Football under the lights. Saw several of the local high school coaches and players along the sidelines along with the hords of Cardinal fans. The two bleachers were filled to capacity and it was probably 5-6 deep along the west sideline from 20 to 20. I would estimate the crowd number pretty near to 2,000, maybe more.
 7. This year, the emphasis on getting a turf stadium was big. After the last month of down pours that have destroyed most of the grass field stadiums, it was a priority to try and get a turf field. Everyone was trying to get their hands on one in the first round. In Vidor's and Dayton's case, they had to go to Huntsville to get one. I spoke to several coaches from the area over the last two weeks and all were trying to get a turf stadium for their potential playoff games.
 8.
Are you guys going to do a final?  Will you continue to poll and publish in the playoffs?
Final regular season poll will be announced tonight on the preview show. Stay tuned.
 9.
gilmer will not do it this time. the coaching staff at jasper are very besy after practice going over and over the game taps,GILMER GOES HOME  :o :o :o :o :o :o :o. this west orange stark fan says lets go jasper JUST DO IT
and as usual that WOS fan is drunk. ::)
 10. I don't know if it's the "play of the year", but it is definitely the most "fortunate play of the year". ;)
 11. We will be LIVE from Hamburger Depot in Beaumont as Gabe and I will be previewing the playoffs for our local SETX teams!! We will highlight last week's games, preview this week's playoff games, reveal our final regular season rankings, announce the players of the week, and discuss the first round playoff games in depth. Also, post any questions or comments here on this thread for our discussion forum in the last segment. Please join us at Hamburger Depot or listen here at SETXsports! Broadcast time will be at 6:30pm. Click the link provided to listen in. Mike Sanchez, SETXsports.com broadcaster [Hidden Content]
 12. It will still be the Weekly High School Preview Show tonight only the playoff version.
 13.

Hey we might have as many fans at the scrimmage as "Texas Terror State" had at the game week before last.
Huntsville high school has more fans than SHSU.
3A Silsbee High School has more fans than Sam.
 14. Curious to see how they bracket these teams. Will they put the 7 SETX teams along with maybe a NS in one side of the bracket with the rest in the other side to try and get a SETX team to the finals? Or will they mix the brackets up evenly in hopes of maybe getting an all SETX final? The latter could result in no SETX team in the finals or even the semis. That will make it tough for me to broadcast if no local team makes it that far.
 15. These are Silsbee's scrimmages for this week: Wed. Nov 11 Scrim. WB, PNG, Silsbee @ Westbrook 4pm Var only Sat. Nov 14 Scrimmage Lumberton @ Silsbee 10am Var only

 17. Silsbee won last year 20-16. The Tigers scored on a Jeremy Johnson to Chase Kelly touchdown pass with about a minute left in the game. Silsbee struggled against that 25mph north wind with gusts over 35mph. Huffman came to play that night. I believe Silsbee is a better team this year than last and from what I have learned through scouts and coaches, Huffman is not as good as they were last year. But , you still have to play the game. In the end, the Tiger offense will be too much for Huffman to handle.
 18. Well, one thing's for sure, Cleveland won't meet up with Silsbee in the playoffs. Cleveland is DII, Silsbee is DI. Kind of shows your lack of football playoff knowledge along with some other of your remarks. ;)

 20. I thought this was a discussion of football attendance (or lack of in Sam's case) not whose academics are better. TT still avoiding the issue and trying his best to divert. ;)
 21. WOS wins this one, 28-14. BTW, the Mustang defense has played against a better QB than Allen. ;)
 22. Rahkeem Bolton, RB Silsbee, Senior 16 carries  175 yards  4 TD's Caleb Henry, Linebacker Silsbee, Junior 12 tackles, 3 for loss, 2 sacks, 2 pass knockdowns Congrats to these two young men!
 23. Great field. Should make for a very good tourney. Will be tough for my Tigers but should do them some good overall. I will be there broadcasting as many of these games that I can.
 24.
what about the individual stats?
I will try and gather that info.
