The job growth is very subpar and anemic.  The biggest indicator of economic health is Gross Domestic Product which contracted by 2.9% in the first quarter of 2014.  This contraction is the largest post recession contraction since World War 2.  The country also is deeper in debt than it has ever been and only during this administration has our triple A debt rating ever been downgraded.  If we want to discuss lies, one would need to include the following:

At the end of my first term, the unemployment rate will be 5.5% and the debt will have been cut in half.

I will go through the budget line by line, with a scalpel.

My stimulus program will provide thousands of "shovel ready" jobs.

Mr. Obama is not easily scared.  He proves that by continually lying to the public with no concern about repercussions.

You are correct, Big Girl.  Being a financial planner does not always make one financially or economically astute.  Neither does being a community organizer.

I guess every one of us can say that somebody else on this board is a joke.  Just a matter of your perception, my perception, and that of everyone else.  From my view, as earlier stated, there is nothing funnier than someone believing that the President is doing a decent job of heading up our economic affairs.  But, then again, one shouldn't expect a law degree plus community organizational experience and studying Saul Alinsky to be an adequate background for being the CEO of a country.

You and I both know the answer as do many other people.  To me, its just a very sad day when your political loyalty over rides your common sense and you just pretend these type of situations do not exist.  So many now vote not based on what they think would benefit the country the most but on who promises them the most personally..  If this was posted two years ago, we would get a lot of the "its Bush's fault" responses, but that one (which never was credible) makes one look too silly to use anymore.  I guess the default issue nowadays is that Mr. Obama "cares" more about the common man, the little guy while anyone who opposes him is too wealthy and too out of touch with what the common man is experiening.  I think the common man would very much like a job but we have indoctrinated him to believe and accept that if the government can't provide that job, it will give him an income anyway.

And Big Girl is still trying to convince someone, including herself, that the national economy is good while the Texas economy is bad.  The best part of all of this is the portion of the Federal Government that is overseeing/enforcing the healthcare laws" lost" 2 years worth of emails, didn't back them up with hard copies, and therefore broke the law.  Crooked?  Maybe   Incompetent? Maybe   Neither?  Not possible.

And you say people love the Affordable Health Care act?  The polls out there strongly suggest otherwise.
Don't forget the "21st Century VA System" that was promised during the original  campaign. Ask the folks who lost loved ones while waiting for care who they will be voting for.

This is just more proof that the government (regardless of party) in most cases, is considerably less competent than the private sector is.  And yet, so many are willing to tolerate this and believe that they can continue to receive benefits from "the other guy" and also give full support to those who want to increase the size of this inefficient and unaccountable behemoth.    Is anybody ever going to understand that the country cannot be moved forward simply by promising the have nots that the government is going to take more of what the haves own and give it to them?

Corps are leaving because the tax environment is not competitive.  Doesn't matter who is in office.  You cant blame this on Reagan.  If "our dear leader" is so economically enlightened, why would he not push to lower corporate taxes? Once again, big and intrusive government is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE and we have the statistics to show that.  And I suggest to you repeatedly( even though thinkprogress.org wont give you a response to post) that many people who would normally open a small business do not because of taxes, regulations, and uncertainty around Obamacare.  I beg you to show me how a businessman/potential businessman would say this:  Just as soon as they raise taxes some more and require me to pay for everybodys healthcare, and make me  go through a 15 month environmental impact study, I am going to open a business that will flourish.  You'll never win this one Dove.  Maybe on social policies you can find some justification, but on the business side, your man is unknowledgeable, inexperienced, and doesn't mind destroying the economy is order to make things, from his perspective, "more fair".  All of his advice comes from academics who share his ideology and have no practical business experience.  Talk the talk sounds great, but walking the walk is necessary and he simply can't/won't do it.  And, for the umpteenth time, if we simply confiscate the wealth of say the top 20% of all individuals and spread it evenly among the other 80%, it wont be long till most of the top 20 regain their wealth and you will be saying how they did so unfairly and at the expense of the "little guy".

Not sure that hate is the appropriate word in this case.  I didnt think the President was qualified for the office before he was first elected and I am even more convinced of it now.  As I have said many times, my perception of the President is that regardless of the cost, he is determined to advance his social justice agenda and the heck with everything else.  Additionally, all of the following statements trouble me greatly because I believe they are all false:"

I will have the most transparent administration in history. The stimulus will fund shovel-ready jobs. I am focused like a laser on creating jobs. The IRS is not targeting anyone. It was a spontaneous riot about a movie. If I had a son. I will put an end to the type of politics that "breeds division, conflict and cynicism". You didn't build that! I will restore trust in Government. The Cambridge cops acted stupidly. The public will have 5 days to look at every bill that lands on my desk It's not my red line - it is the world's red line. Whistle blowers will be protected in my administration. We got back every dime we used to rescue the banks and auto companies, with interest. I am not spying on American citizens. Obama Care will be good for America . You can keep your family doctor. Premiums will be lowered by $2500. If you like it, you can keep your current healthcare plan. It's just like shopping at Amazon. I knew nothing about "Fast and Furious" gunrunning to Mexican drug cartels. I knew nothing about IRS targeting conservative groups. I knew nothing about what happened in Benghazi . I have never known my uncle from Kenya who is in the country illegally and that was arrested and told to leave the country over 20 years ago. And, I have never lived with that uncle.

Its really odd, because Enlightened/chosen has been on this board under several other names and, each time before he was banned, he went on liberal rants from both a fiscal and social standpoint.  Now he suddenly has a new name and a new outlook.  Kinda reminds me of our President when he spoke of attacking this deficit with a "balanced approach" (implying that he wanted tax hikes and spending cuts)  Well, I am experiencing the tax hikes but the spending cuts just don't seem to have materialized.  But, saying "balanced" sure sounded good and so does "moderate".  One more thing that really sounds good:  " If you like your doctor/healthcare plan, you can keep it".  One of these days we will elect someone based on substance rather than symbolism.

I too, do not know Westend and have never met him.  Hence we are quite similar in that respect.  I do have a pretty good idea where he stands politically and, considering your activity on this board, it would be hard for me to believe you are unaware of his political predilections even though that is the case you are trying to build.  I  just don't see the need for the word/semantic games as you are the only person here who has problems with me regarding ambiguity and parliamentary procedures.  I think I will just continue with my "less than enlightened" methods of communication as nobody else seems to be troubled by it.  One more tiny item.  While the bulk of my education is from the school of hard knocks and not from a prestigious university, I can still tell you that your use of the word THEIR ( as in "for their to be motivation") ought to be spelled t h e r e.

I know of whom you speak and there is a good possibility he is what you say he is.  My guess is that he is a democrat for a reason relating to tort reform/politics but that is just a guess and I certainly cant prove it.( never have yet met a plaintiff attorney who is a Republican)  I just am curious why you imply that you have many answers and know many things but wont volunteer any of them.  In lieu of dealing with the question, you get very enchanted with your ability to circumvent it by discussing the ambiguity of the question posed.  We have already had Bill Clinton tell us that " that depends on what the definition of is is.  Furthermore, if one acquires wealth, the results/intellligence are not what I have determined but what the markets have determined and the collective wisdom of the markets far exceeds anything learned on the bar exam..  I will ask you once again ( and wont be surprised if you re-circumvent) two questions and would assume you have very good answers because you elucidated on your degree of intelligence.  In what instances is the government  more efficient, profitable, and accountable in a business pursuit than private enterprise?  Mr. Jobs and Mr. Gates had little if any formal advanced education.  Were they highly intelligent?  I agree with your decision not to become a trader.  The markets have a very strong preference for veracity over double speak and they will severely punish the pretenders.
