  3. I would almost be certain he will be there. Him and Mason West as freshmen were unstoppable. Just have to get used to a different style RB. I don't mean in a bad way. This kid has speed and is dynamic. He loves to run downfield and make quick cuts, My niece is a cheerleader in the same grade. I got to watch them play. He is a different style RB than we have had in a long time. Trying to think of a past RB that's like him, but cant at the moment. When you watch his freshman season highlights he is cutting away from defenders almost every run. He can also take it outside. He has the speed and agility to take it anywhere on the field. He will be a special player. His brother is a WR on varsity, but is a natural DB which I believe he will be next season if I had to guess. He has played a few plays when we went though the spell were we lost so much of the team to a illness. He would be on O and then on D. He is a hard-hitting DB with speed to stick with his WR. They are an athletic family. The underclassmen are legit at PNG right now across the board in every grade. The size of the lineman O and D are huge. We will be really big in the trenches if not next season then the several after that. Our center who missed the season to a practice injury is 320-330. We also have Baby Manziel back, Ashworth back, and Mason West. A QB conundrum.

  4. I sure hope that Vautrot's hasn't shut down, and now you got me thinking about golf at Idylwild this week, with lunch afterward at Vautrot's, including blackberry cobbler. Friday, @ PNG, after fish tacos from Tia's. Saturday, @ Lamar, after opening morning of duck season. Lunch TBD, but BBQ links sounds good.

  5. I dont have the DEC rules, only was texted the point system and that once you go to points you stay w/points...if there's a provision about best mutual record amongst a 4-way tie aka a mini district it would make sense you'd take the teams who are 2-1 in the 3-way tie but w/o seeing the rules in the handbook there's no way to know for sure

  7. Contest is very close this year. Top 9 separated by only 4 points with 1 week left to determine the regular season winner. Pickems will continue thru the playoffs. There will be a winner for playoffs and another overall season winner. So just because you're not in the lead doesn't mean you're out of it. Good luck everyone!!!

  11. Went and watched the freshman and JV this past Thursday, rough counted about 60 players on JV. Didn't count the Freshman team but it looks like PNG has about 140 or so young men participating in the Football program. This keeps all of the players on their toes and working harder to outplay their peers which makes them all better. I've said this before but the deep runs every year pays huge dividends in experience and confidence. For example #2 has probably played in 37 or so varsity games so far and if they go deep this year he'll have played in 40 or more games at the Varsity level. Considering about 10 of those games are in a playoff environment, it's very hard to catch up to a perennial winner because of this.

  12. Fairly certain that everyone supports the kids. But at the same time can see when there is poor judgement and a very critical time to have a stupid (yes it was stupid) penalty. It was selfish but at the same time the kid needs to have the ball more. The parents, both, seem to be creating friction. Drawing attention to this thread, making posts on FB and taking all credit for the kid keeping the bulldogs in the game but not being able to admit that it was a mistake after that last TD. It’s ok to say it was a poor decision. Dogs have a decent wave of athletes and should do fine but man their parents are wild. Some of the same ones saying “don’t worry coach Barrow, we are in the way” a few years back. Them having a tree lighting ceremony for winning 8th grade district title. Let’s the kids play, teach them humility and team first. The coaches need to step up with culture, it hasn’t gotten better. And there is zero reason to have delay of game on a kick off, tacked on to the unsportsmanlike…also, tackle someone, PNG QB and TC RB looked like prime Barry Sanders

  13. Man, I think of all the players and coaches who have to put up with these comments. If you think negative comments helps your “team”, you’re wrong. To all the players and coaches, all teams have had games just like this. If not, it’s coming. Coaches, get your players together and tell them this was a tough loss, but that you and the fans are behind them. We’ll win the next one and make a deep playoff run. I don’t have a kid playing, I’m just a fan. Don’t take the negative comments to heart because they are not involved. Go Dogs!

  19. I gotta show some love to our district mates. I'd give the advantage to HF based on strength of schedule. Horns seem to be battle tested even though they lost 2 games. And only by 1 point at Silsbee. I expect Waggoner to make adjustments and game plan for a decent run. Lamar should be willing to open up for SETX now that Ross likes to recruit the area. They did allow OF vs Woodville during regular season.

  20. Do you ever research anything you post? “Protecting a pedophile (pedophile being the democratic talking point of the year) is not true. The case went to trial in June 2025. After four days, the jury deadlocked 7–5 in favor of conviction, producing a mistrial. Prosecutors from Paxton’s office said the victim (by then older) made clear he did not want to testify at a second trial and preferred to move on. Without the child’s testimony, they stated they lacked a viable path to prove the felony elements. Would you had rather they illegally force a child to testify and re-live the tragedy against his will?

  22. No I'm just hoping we can avoid the Silsbee playoff curse. H could have the answer to get past them. Or maybe... no nevermind he wouldn't do that. Tigers better get healthy though. It's hard to beat a good well coached team like HF twice. Especially at a neutral site.

  26. 10-3A D1 Orangefield and Anahuac has clinched playoff spots. Orangefield has clinched #1 seed. Anahuac has clinched #2 seed. Here are the current standings: 1. Orangefield (5-0) play Tarkington 2. Anahuac (4-1) play Coldspring 3. East Chambers (3-2) play Kirbyville 4. Buna (3-3) off 5. Kirbyville (2-3) play East Chambers East Chambers can clinch #3 seed with a win or a 10 point or less loss to Kirbyville. Buna can clinch #4 seed with an East Chambers win. An EC loss of any kind would eliminate Buna from playoff spot. Kirbyville can get #3 seed with an 11 point or more win over EC. Can get #4 seed with a 10 point or less win over EC. A loss would eliminate Kirbyville. Point totals for these three with Kirbyville/EC game to be played: EC +18 Kirbyville -4 Buna -14 This district plays 9-3A D1

  27. 9-4A D1 All 4 playoff spots are clinched. Seeding to be determined. Here are the current standings: 1. LC-M (4-1) 1. Vidor (4-1) 3. Huffman (3-2) 4. Bridge City (3-3) LC-M can clinch #1 seed with a win over Lumberton Friday night. Vidor can clinch #1 seed with a win and an LC-M loss. Vidor can finish no worse than #2 seed. Vidor plays Liberty Friday. Huffman has clinched at worst the #3 seed. They can get #2 seed with a win and an LC-M loss. They can find themselves in a 3 way tie for top spot with a win and an LC-M and Vidor losses but the point situation would not help them. Huffman plays Livingston Friday. Currently in a 3 way tie with Huffman, LC-M and Vidor, the point totals are: LC-M +11 (18+ win over Vidor, 7 point loss to Huffman) Vidor 0 (18+ point loss to LC-M, 18+ point win over Huffman) Huffman -11 (7 point win over LC-M, 18+ loss to Vidor) So LC-M would be #1 seed, Vidor #2, Huffman #3. Bridge City cannot finish higher than #4 seed due to their loss to Huffman. 9-4A D1 plays 10-4A D1 in 1st round.

  29. 9-5A D1 Lots to be determined still. Several scenarios depending on this week's results. La Porte and PA Memorial have clinched. Here's a rundown of the playoff spot and seeding scenarios courtesy of @OlDawg and @Matthew328 Playoff Scenarios (Assuming GCM & BWB beat GB): IF BU beats RSS: GCM +11 BU +7 BWB -3 Lufkin -15 GCM & BU would advance as #3 & 4 respectively. PO seeds would be La Porte, PAM, GCM & BU in that order. La Porte & PAM with home field in Bi-District. IF RSS beats BU: Lufkin +21 GCM +7 BWB +1 RSS -29 Lufkin & GCM would advance as #3 & 4 respectively. PO seeds would be La Porte, PAM, Lufkin & GCM in that order. La Porte & PAM with home field in Bi-District. ***Interesting sidenote - In the summer, I predicted a PO breakdown of La Porte, PAM, GCM/Lufkin with GCM and Lufkin a toss-up for the 3 & 4 seeds... BWB vs GCM -7, RSS +18, BU +14, Lufkin -10 GCM vs BWB +7, RSS -7, BU -3, Lufkin +7 Lufkin vs GCM -7, RSS +18, BU -18, BWB +10 BU vs GCM +3, BWB -14, Lufkin +18, RSS ? RSS vs GCM +7, BWB -18, Lufkin -18, BU ? if Lufkin beats LaPorte Fri, West Brook will be in as long as they beat Ball Lufkin wins and Sterling wins GCM is 0 WB is +11 PLAYOFFS Sterling is -11 if Lufkin and United wins WB is +7 PLAYOFFS GCM is +4 United is -11

It probably won’t….there is a rise and fall….history it definitely won’t be great with liberals in charge…when you people can’t tell the difference btwn man and woman….😳😳 i ve never understood how yall don’t see the red flags….look at the liberal states and cities….why do so many people move away.

  44. Very great point! Christmas tree lighting ceremonies, pics of these over the top Team dinners, parents creating their own new slogans and selling shirts for a profit is truly hilarious. They even tried to rename our families Metreyeon baseball field “The Land” a few years ago with T shirts. These parents need to understand this program has been here for years so quit trying to create your own personal culture. This is BIG NED!! Keep it the way it’s supposed to be!!! We don’t need T Shirts for every idea you think up.

  45. Thanks 33. You the only one congratulating the kids. Now all this other controversy... Smh. This supposed to be about the kids. Not grown folks getting in their feelings and having an axe to grind and their own agenda. That's what all this stems from. All this controversy and these kids dont care they just want to play Mustang football. They've done it since they were young. The juniors are ready for thier time too. I spoke to one that was very happy to shine late in the game. Starters should've been out and resting after halftime. Trust me when I say this... It'll all work out in the end. Nothing last forever. Only thing guaranteed in this world is change. The leaves will fall.

  47. I don't think any one kid costs a game, it's a team. However, dude, I was like 5 rows from your hissy-fit at the game before you got tossed. Right behind the cheerleaders too. If you don't wanna be in people's mouths then don't act a fool. You're kid isn't the best player ever lived.
    1 point
  48. The game went as most expected.. I’ve seen similar things but I’m not gonna act like there isn’t a major talent difference in the two teams either.. I never bought into people hyping Jasper because of the coaches that were hired… You still have to have the jimmys and joes regardless of what some people think. Which is why WOS had a few off years when Hickman was hired regardless of what people say. WOS did what they were supposed to do to a team that they are much better than. One more week until playoffs!

  49. It's hard to get district MVP from a 3rd place team but don't get it twisted Huffman's RB (Bacon) is the best player in the district. Having said that it wouldn't shock me at all to see LCM QB get MVP and Bacon get Offensive player of the year.
